The murder mystery level and snowy mountain areas, hell the one with candy? The urban city area one? God I replayed it several times. The furniture mechanics for the spy base later on had me relapsing to the hundreds of hours i put into the first my sims I loved the yeti. I loved the pipe puzzles. RAHHH MY SIMS AGENTS MY BELOVED
MySims Agents is AMAZING. The most nostalgic Sims game after The Sims 2 Pets for PS2, to me. I'd play it so much during summer holidays, it was such a fun experience
MySims! I have so much nostalgia for this series. I wish they made a new one or an HD collection. I like the first one for its simple plot. But Kingdom was a lot more fun because there were stories you played through. But you still build stuff. Racing was different but still fun. Agents was the best one but needed more post game content. Or any lol.
I got My Sims Agents on the Wii for Christmas in 2009 and it was THE game that started my love for detective games. I feel like I've played every title in the genre since. So happy to see a video that features it!
Seeing the town in Agents brought back some old memories, I remember after finishing the game just going back through all the levels and taking it all in. Appreciating all the characters and areas, and the stories it told. So many little details that made the world feel lived in too, in a sense, like the trains driving by far off in the background that I hadn't even noticed before. It wasn't until I was in college I'd thought about those MySims games, and wondered what ever happened to that series. I was so upset when I found out they cancelled the Agents sequel, remembering how much I really wanted to re-experience the first one. Nowadays it's just frustrating, seeing how much utter trash gets to keep going and thrive when for over 20 years we've seen great ones get left behind and forgotten.
growing up i played every mysims game (except mysims party) and i loved them all. i remember being so surprised by how much i loved mysims skyheroes, i've never been a fan of dogfighting/plane games but skyheroes was different. i really liked the story and characters, and the plot twist toward the end blew my mind
MySims Agents is genuinely up there with some of my fondest childhood memories, i loved the mystery and the suspense, the characters and the world they created, i remember being enthralled by the ending for months after beating it, i genuinely used to have dreams about the ending being fully resolved, i would daydream about a sequel so long i convinced myself the sequel was coming, and it was exactly what my 10 year old brain had imagined- upsettling that story never was resolved, but i think it never would have had its effect on me if it was, it’s forever one of maybe 5 games over my entire life i’ve had a genuine obsession over and that i still think about into the modern day, coincidentally another is the sims 2 on DS, the linear sims game were unrivalled in my opinion, they had such fully formed character that for the time just wasn’t normal, it’s a part of me and i’ll look back at those days where my only serious conflicting thoughts were about how a problem in one of them would be resolved, and asking myself where i missed the proverbial clue that would let me advance, was one of my first ever rl examples of how important stepping away from a situation and employing an actual problem solving mindset was both beneficial and rewarding- these games can NOT be slept on
It would be nice if some of The designers for Agents maybe went and made their own game and IP based on the concept? The aunt as many good detective/ espionage games as one might think.
I'm in my middle 20's and I love MySims, especially the first/original one! It kinda became one of my comfort games and I loved playing it as a kid back then so much and I still do
Bro I LOVED MySims agents, there was one time I couldn't figure out one of the lab puzzles and looked up the answer to it in the computer lab at school the next day. First time I ever used a walkthrough.
Man, you are an insane man in the best way. You literally research way to fuckin much, I was rewatching your R&C series and man, you know how to be informative and funny.
I loved My Sims so much as a kid and I still love them. It's such a charming, cute and wholesome game that's perfect not only for kids but even for adults who just want something nice and heartwarming. I still adore these games and playing them when I'm feeling down always makes me feel better
Oh my God, I loved the MySims games! I think the only one I didn't play was Racing, but I loved playing Kingdom, Agents and Sky Heroes. I thought these faded into obscurity, but it made me really happy to see you talk about them and enjoy them. Thank you for bringing back some fond memories I have of these games.
My Sims is actually the reason why I wanted the Wii. I was a massive Sims and Animal Crossing fan at the time, so My Sims looked perfect for me! Receiving the Wii that Christmas is one of my fondest memories from my childhood.
MySims Agents was my favourite Wii game of all time. I can’t begin to tell you how many times 10-year old me replayed that game over and over. Now that they’ve announced the MySims Cozy Bundle for Switch, I hope we’ll get a remake of MySims Agents in the future.
I just wanted to say that Ive been greatly enjoying your side series looking into the odd Sims console games. You made this legitimately fascinating even though i’ve never been interested in these titles before. You might even have convinced me to check a couple of then out! GREAT script and editing, really appreciate what you’re doing :)
I actually love and loved My Sims as a kid. There was a also a big desert area and the people that you invite to your town can give you new things! Like a salon gives you more hairs and such! Maybe I just like it a lot cause of nostalgia. You are so right about the essence thing though. When I replayed a couple years ago I seriously had to grind for those metal detector essence, took a long time.
Looking back, it’s kinda crazy that all 6 came out so quickly because I remember eagerly awaiting the next ones along with my sister after Kingdom came out. Glad you enjoyed Agents so much though. It’s a genuinely great game that truly deserved its sequel. The missions and stories were always so fun and they used the characters so well. Nova and Madame Zoe were my favorites.
I have so many nice memories of My Sims Agents. It was one of the first wii games I would actively play and be invested in. I never finished it as a kid (I think I gave up at the beach?) but I actually went back to finish it as a teen~ Still have great memories of it
Man, my sibling and I used to play MySims so much. We even made it to a 5-star town once or twice, I think. Though MySims Agents was my favorite. 11:03 that's why I used to keep an empty lot next to my house lol. You move someone into the close lot, fulfill all of their requests, and then move them to a lot further away from you, rinse and repeat. It helps a little bit with the amount of walking/loading, but still doesn't solve the issue. Though when I played as a kid it didn't feel like that big of an issue to me 13:14 With the plant essences, if you ran out, you could water the plants and they would regrow immediately.
not tryna be a hater but all the cons you had about the og mysims with like optimization or whatever and it being constant busy work, as someone who played this game for hours on end as a child, that gameplay loop was not at all tedious and i never got sick of going back and forth and having to walk through my town i loved all the different music and environments so much lol
this was a really great trip down memory lane, my big sis had ALL the games on wii and most of the nintendo ds ones. these were my mario kart wii and mario party back in the day! so glad someone covered these games and their many flaws.
I can't tell you how many times I've 'completed' MySims, I remember sitting down with a note book to write down all the tasks I needed to do and sketching designs, definitely a personal opinion that it wasn't as fun as could be
I played MySims on the DS as a kid, and for a long time I couldn't remember the actual name of it. I had no idea there were so many other games in the series ! Great video
i remember actually really loving mysims party because you could make custom characters to use in the minigames. my sister and i would make mysims versions of our pc sims characters and have them battle it out there. i never did care for the "story mode" though and always rushed through it to unlock all the minigames
Yessss my sibling and I made a bunch of sims on that game lol. Also, our neighbor came over all the time and we let her make her own sims on there and we would play through the festivals together. Never cared for the story either though, I thought it was boring and the whole monument thing didn't make much sense to me.
Man, I remember playing the first game as a kid. I haven't thought about these in years. That said, I feel like a new game in the style of the original could actually do really well these days. It feels like a more extreme version of the direction Animal Crossing has gone in - focused more on customization than the social simulation aspect. And because of that, perhaps a lot of people would enjoy something like it now.
The MySims Racing on DS was completely different, you actually could get out and walk around and do tasks for the people in the town, and there was more than one town. There were also mini games you could do too. That was my shit back in the day
Omg I didn’t even know they were on the wii but I had a couple Mysims DS games and was obsessed. I still hear the angry conversation music in my head whenever I’m talking to someone
what you said about the sims 3 for wii is so true! my Wii would most of the time sound like it was using all of it's power just to load in a few sims and would somehow drain my wii remote battery to nothing in like an hour from a new battery
I was a big fan of the DS version of My Sims. I played it all the time and the racquetball minigame took up so much of my time. It was so fun. Ive never played any of the others but I still really loved your video!
Thank you so much for making this video, man! I love your video on the sims console games, which were the games I played up until the Sims 3 PC came out in ‘09. I’ve always been curious about MySims, having been a heavy Wii player. I love having another retrospective I can watch again and again. Bravo!! 🎉😊
Oh, I am on the PULSE of MySims content!!! Thank you for this thoughtful and thorough breakdown of the game and its history. This was a great watch, and made me so sad I haven't had a Wii since 2012 haha!
Wow, this brought me back. I remember I had Agents on the Wii YEARS ago as a kid, but it seemed so strange and it was in such a unique part of my life that I thought it was a dream until I saw this video.
The level of warmth and nostalgia I feel seeing these games is overwhelming. I LOVED MySims and MySims Kingdom so much! I have the My Sims game on PC and I'm fighting the urge to find and buy a wii and the games as we speak XD
An hour long video on My Sims? This is the best day ever 😫 I had probably had 100+ hours in both My Sims and My Sims Kingdom spent decorating over and over as a kid. I was obsessed, and I still have a thing for decorating in Sims 4, Animal Crossing, and other games.
My Sims and My Sims kingdom are literally up there as two of my favourite games ever from the Wii era and honestly i think kingdom would make it into my top 20-30 somewhere. I think it's genuinely such a good game and improved/built upon everything that made the first one incredibly fun. When they announced the my Sims cozy bundle for switch i bought cake to celebrate ahaha
omg i nearly forgot abt mysims!!! i have the pc version and used to play it all the time before i was allowed to get my own actual sims game. i dont know how i acquired the game (maybe some sort of kids meal thing?? idk) but this made all my memories of playing the game come FLOODING back
I played the DS version of My Sims Agents as a kid which has a completely different story and gameplay in another town. Every citizen had a minigame for you to play and you had to scan objects across town to collect essences which you could use to craft stuff iirc
Sim Animals was one of the only Sim games my family got. The Africa one even had a *Story Mode* where you played as both Prey and Predators, completing tasks to gain Magic Tree Power to go to the next levels. You have come *way* too far. You NEED to play this! XD
I have this game on my PC and currently playing it. I like the fact that TS4 pays tribute to MySims by having figurines of MySims characters that can be found through digging up those rock thingys throughout the world. I remember one time I had a sim die because of too much hilarity cuz of the figurines. The figurines have a funny emotional aura on them and I should've turned it off😆
The DS version of Mysims Racing actually has a free roaming map like Diddy Kong Racing or CTR. I'm surprised this is completely absent in the Wii version
Strangely, the SkyHeroes game reminds me of a trailer where Snoopy from Peanuts was in some sort of dogfighting game... What a weird thing to remember. Anyway, it was nice to hear about this spin-off of the Sims series.
I think it was called Snoopy VS the Red Baron! From what I remember it was really fun and had a decent campaign/missions and fun power up weapons. I would recommend it over mySims Sky Heroes tbh. I think there was a gun that shot pumpkins??
Thanks so much looking at these games, they were the highlight of my childhood/early teen years! I really loved the way it would just activate your imagination and run with it, like in MySims even though your sim had no needs I would always send them to sleep at night and eat food during the morning/evening, and take walks through the forest admiring the scenery. They might get a bit repetitive playing them as an adult, but I love them and I was glad you had a fun time playing them! Have a lovely day ❤
i LOVED mysims agents as a kid, but i had the nintendo ds version and i was shook to find out in this video that the story of the wii version is COMPLETELY different
13:05 I feel like I should clarify here because it's not described well in first game or online either. The process of gathering essences dosen't really evolve as the game progresses; only new ones get gradually introduced. YET, you can speed up the process for harvesting tree based essences by watering the trees; or straight up using pesticide to get a burst of essence; alongside a dead tree you need to chop and replace with another tree based essence, but by that point you already have enough. Sims can even host picnics, book clubs, or seance on the overworld to casually gain specific/rare essence as well.
My sister and I LOVED the mysims franchise! We played mysims kingdom, agents, and racing all the time! On agents, it always irked us that we couldn’t revisit the mountain land lol. Thanks for this throwback!
I never finished Agents or Sky Heroes, but those games along with Party are so nostalgic to me, I’m surprised at how much I remember while looking at these clips considering I haven’t played them in something like 10 years.
i remember renting mysims kingdom from blockbuster when i was a kid and immediately falling in love with it and begging my mom for the game HAHAHAHA even now as a 22 y/o i still love returning to it occasionally, it's such a good game unironically
I've been waiting for a video of this quality on the sims-related DS games, please cover them too! Especially the absolute acid trip that is the sims 2 (weird alien one)
Now I'm kinda disappointed that I never gave my sims kingdom a chance after getting burned out on the first one. You should do the sims handhelds next! GBA Bustin Out and Ds Urbz were totally different than their console counterparts and were my whole childhood. I also remember sims 2 on the DS being suuuuuper weird. I think I got abducted by aliens a lot for changing the date around.
Fun fact: I believe My Sims Agents was the first game that I completed 100%. That or Smash Bros Brawl. I actually still remember the scene where Evelyn meets her dad when she is finally rescued.
I wonder if my sims agents, racing, and sky hereos will make it on the switch. I remember playing my sims kingdom on the ds and I kinda like it more than the wii version. It had more of a story.

Ok now to the brain rot I have the most vivid memories of the intricate evolution of the storyline. The murder mystery level and snowy mountain areas, hell the one with candy? The urban city area one? God I replayed it several times.
The furniture mechanics for the spy base later on had me relapsing to the hundreds of hours i put into the first my sims
I loved the yeti. I loved the pipe puzzles.
RAHHH MY SIMS AGENTS MY BELOVED
MySims Agents is AMAZING. The most nostalgic Sims game after The Sims 2 Pets for PS2, to me. I'd play it so much during summer holidays, it was such a fun experience
mysims always has a special place in my heart. I love the mysims series so much.
I genuinely loved the MySims games so much, they were so good and a big part of my childhood
I feel so validated for playing the heck out of Agents and Kingdom as a kid, those games slapped
growing up i played every mysims game (except mysims party) and i loved them all. i remember being so surprised by how much i loved mysims skyheroes, i've never been a fan of dogfighting/plane games but skyheroes was different. i really liked the story and characters, and the plot twist toward the end blew my mind
MySims Agents is genuinely up there with some of my fondest childhood memories, i loved the mystery and the suspense, the characters and the world they created, i remember being enthralled by the ending for months after beating it, i genuinely used to have dreams about the ending being fully resolved, i would daydream about a sequel so long i convinced myself the sequel was coming, and it was exactly what my 10 year old brain had imagined- upsettling that story never was resolved, but i think it never would have had its effect on me if it was, it’s forever one of maybe 5 games over my entire life i’ve had a genuine obsession over and that i still think about into the modern day, coincidentally another is the sims 2 on DS, the linear sims game were unrivalled in my opinion, they had such fully formed character that for the time just wasn’t normal, it’s a part of me and i’ll look back at those days where my only serious conflicting thoughts were about how a problem in one of them would be resolved, and asking myself where i missed the proverbial clue that would let me advance, was one of my first ever rl examples of how important stepping away from a situation and employing an actual problem solving mindset was both beneficial and rewarding- these games can NOT be slept on
i was so obsessed with mysims kingdom
It would be nice if some of The designers for Agents maybe went and made their own game and IP based on the concept? The aunt as many good detective/ espionage games as one might think.
and now, in 2024
we are gonna be able to replay the original and Kingdom on the Switch
I can't wait for the Cozy Bundle to be released
I’m 25 and still go back to MySims Kingdoms and Agents when life gets a bit too rough. Pure joy
Oh yeah, before I forget, the DS version of MySims Racing has a Diddy Kong Racing style overworld. Thought you might like to know.
Son of a bitch, I'm gonna have to make another one of these at some point aren't I?
@@TheGoldenBolt Probably lol, the ds versions are extremely different compared to the console ones.
I'm in my middle 20's and I love MySims, especially the first/original one!
It kinda became one of my comfort games and I loved playing it as a kid back then so much and I still do
I started playing the orininal MySims again sometime last week, I'm so glad to see this video!! Super nostalgic, thanks for all your hard work! :)
I loved the MySims games but Agents always held a special place in my heart! Glad to see it getting a little more recognition 😊
I still adore these games and playing them when I'm feeling down always makes me feel better
my sims kingdom and agents still hold up so well too, i LOVE those games to this day beyond nostalgia
I still vividly remember how frustrated I would be trying to build furniture with the Wii motion controls
I grew up with My Sims Kingdom on the DS I still have it! I miss the My Sims era that brings me back to simpler times.
I had so much fun with mysims kingdom, still have that ending tune stuck in my head.
At this point, they're re releasing MySims and MySims Kingdom on Switch as a bundle called the MySims Cozy Bundle. I'm excited. :D
GREAT script and editing, really appreciate what you’re doing :)
mysims was one of the games i grew up with and my love for it is still there to this day. i actually got some of them just to replay c:
I actually love and loved My Sims as a kid. There was a also a big desert area and the people that you invite to your town can give you new things! Like a salon gives you more hairs and such! Maybe I just like it a lot cause of nostalgia. You are so right about the essence thing though. When I replayed a couple years ago I seriously had to grind for those metal detector essence, took a long time.
The funniest part of the first MySims was how hou'd often get sims brawling with each other because of having different interests.
I was not expecting the punk AEW pipe bomb at 15:46 🤣👏
Looking back, it’s kinda crazy that all 6 came out so quickly because I remember eagerly awaiting the next ones along with my sister after Kingdom came out.
I never finished it as a kid (I think I gave up at the beach?) but I actually went back to finish it as a teen~
Still have great memories of it
Man, my sibling and I used to play MySims so much.
Though when I played as a kid it didn't feel like that big of an issue to me
13:14 With the plant essences, if you ran out, you could water the plants and they would regrow immediately.
not tryna be a hater but all the cons you had about the og mysims with like optimization or whatever and it being constant busy work, as someone who played this game for hours on end as a child, that gameplay loop was not at all tedious and i never got sick of going back and forth and having to walk through my town i loved all the different music and environments so much lol
this was a really great trip down memory lane, my big sis had ALL the games on wii and most of the nintendo ds ones. these were my mario kart wii and mario party back in the day! so glad someone covered these games and their many flaws.
Great video
Finally Golden Bolt is covering Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Holy fuck. Imagine that game having a Wii homebrew port in the future
Mysims Kingdom is one of my favorite games of all time. I recently replayed it and it was just as good as I remembered it being
My sims Agents was honestly one of my favorite Wii games. It was Spy themed which was my drug of choice as a kid and the characters hooked me.
i remember actually really loving mysims party because you could make custom characters to use in the minigames. my sister and i would make mysims versions of our pc sims characters and have them battle it out there. i never did care for the "story mode" though and always rushed through it to unlock all the minigames
That was my shit back in the day
Thanks for the video, it's always fun to learn about some old video games I never would have heard of otherwise.
This is the best day ever 😫
I had probably had 100+ hours in both My Sims and My Sims Kingdom spent decorating over and over as a kid.
When they announced the my Sims cozy bundle for switch i bought cake to celebrate ahaha
omg i nearly forgot abt mysims!!! i have the pc version and used to play it all the time before i was allowed to get my own actual sims game. i dont know how i acquired the game (maybe some sort of kids meal thing?? idk) but this made all my memories of playing the game come FLOODING back
Great video, wish you highlighted some more dialogue and characters though. Loved mysims kingdom and agents as a kid
man i used to go to blockbuster every few week to rent mysims kingdom back in 2008. simpler times.
MySims Agents was such a favorite for me n my sister this game was a masterpiece and I wish we would have had a 2nd one
XD
my sims kingdom and my sims agents are some of my favourite games of all time honestly. especially agents it’s so good!!
I have this game on my PC and currently playing it. I like the fact that TS4 pays tribute to MySims by having figurines of MySims characters that can be found through digging up those rock thingys throughout the world. I remember one time I had a sim die because of too much hilarity cuz of the figurines. The figurines have a funny emotional aura on them and I should've turned it off😆
Mysims was one of my favorite games and I still have them to this day. I’m excited their getting a switch update
The DS version of Mysims Racing actually has a free roaming map like Diddy Kong Racing or CTR. I'm surprised this is completely absent in the Wii version
The MySims era of the dill sims was certainly a fascinating one
Strangely, the SkyHeroes game reminds me of a trailer where Snoopy from Peanuts was in some sort of dogfighting game... What a weird thing to remember.
Anyway, it was nice to hear about this spin-off of the Sims series.
I think it was called Snoopy VS the Red Baron! From what I remember it was really fun and had a decent campaign/missions and fun power up weapons. I would recommend it over mySims Sky Heroes tbh.
I think there was a gun that shot pumpkins??
I’m hopeful they’ll eventually release Agents for the Switch like they did for the first two games
Have a lovely day ❤
i LOVED mysims agents as a kid, but i had the nintendo ds version and i was shook to find out in this video that the story of the wii version is COMPLETELY different
mysims agents was the first game i ever loved. it will always be special to me. so sad the story never got resolved!!
13:05
I feel like I should clarify here because it's not described well in first game or online either.
11:36 Jesse they turned me into a MySims
It still pains me that the MySims franchise will never have a new installment
Now I'm kinda disappointed that I never gave my sims kingdom a chance after getting burned out on the first one. You should do the sims handhelds next! GBA Bustin Out and Ds Urbz were totally different than their console counterparts and were my whole childhood. I also remember sims 2 on the DS being suuuuuper weird. I think I got abducted by aliens a lot for changing the date around.
Fun fact: I believe My Sims Agents was the first game that I completed 100%. That or Smash Bros Brawl. I actually still remember the scene where Evelyn meets her dad when she is finally rescued.
i recently revisited pbg’s mysims videos, i had to watch this one too. i really like how in depth you’ve gone here, great video! :)
I wonder if my sims agents, racing, and sky hereos will make it on the switch.
I remember playing my sims kingdom on the ds and I kinda like it more than the wii version. It had more of a story.
