  • @soundgineering4771
    @soundgineering4771 Год назад +5

    First off, I don't think it takes care of sealing major (bigger) leaks (the website says that too). Then, I THINK, it restricts the Filter Drier. I have used it twice (per year gaps). In my case, the leaks were minor but the liquid in the tube get accumulated in the filter drier (again, I THINK). Why I kind of getting sure about it is that this year, I see about 10 degree temperature difference in the inlet and outlet of the filter drier. Great video!!

    • @Gus11445
      @Gus11445 Месяц назад

      3 degrees difference is a restriction so yes you are probably right. This junk also ruins txv metering devices. Our company has stopped using it, it's not a fix or in the customers best interest. Fix the leak correctly or replace the system. Customers always want "another year or two" to save for a new system, yet systems go up in price each year so they end up losing money in the long run.

    Looks like a good product but where I am in Canada we must fix the leak and document that. Government run Ozone depleting police agency/ozone protection people will fine you. Just adding sealant to buy time is illegal. Seems like some US States allow you to top up systems and do others insist on the leak being fixed and not allow topping up? Which ones do and don't?

    Food for thought, in my opinion that is a last resort repair for a older R22 system, I will not put it in anything that is repairable or newer R410 systems, the reason being is that sealant is designed to react with open air and if you ever crack open a system to make a repair it will start hardening in the lines you have flush it immediately upon opening the system, and then you still risk it making sludge in the system and stopping things up, will it stop up the txv as long as it has refrigerant in it properly not, but you change the game when you open the system after and the effects can be devastating to the filter drier and txv after that.

    Word of advice. Reputable companies will not allow their techs to use this product anymore. High risk of metering device issues with leak seal products. If it does work, likely for a year or two. All you are doing is kicking the bucket down the road to a more expensive ac system replacement in the years coming than just replacing or fixing at current market prices. Good for the hvac companies, expensive and bad for customers. Not to mention setting yourself up for another round of headaches and money spent on having an hvac company come out again when things go south shortly after. Uv dye has only ever helped me once in a diagnostic, and that was on a leak in a finished ceiling. Much easier to use an electronic sniffer.
