Wow!!! Can you imagine how wonderful it would be to receive this in your mail. To know that someone took all the time to create such a delightful, quirky, happy art piece. I’m definitely making these. Thanks for the great directions and editing. You are awesome!
you've inspired me heaps, Roben-Marie.....it's wonderful to watch you work, and that was an absolutely brilliant piece of mail-art. whoever's receiving it would be so lucky!!!!
I love your art! I'm always amazed at how you can take simple shapes and colors to create so much layered depth. What looks disjointed at the beginning comes out brilliantly. I hope you keep on posting your art as I'm a big fan.
This was fun to watch.i love how you put things together. The flap is an awesome touch, the colors are great and all the little extras add up to a striking piece.Love how you sew, too.Thank you.
Wow what a fancy envelope! I know this was posted almost a year ago but just saw it for the first time and I love it. Anyone who receives this in the mail will know they are pretty special. I'm going to make some.
Wow! That is so pretty. You make it look so easy! I am inspired to give it a whirl. :) Thanks so very much for sharing and giving us your thinking process along the way.
I absolutely love your work that was so cool to watch TFS very inspiring idea for what i want to make Ive been looking 4 hrs then i found this Thankyou
Wow,,how cool is that,,I am learning a new freedom in paint thru you,,its actually hard for me not to have stern structure,,lol..truly loving this new approach to Art!!
Roben..all I can say is AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL!! I think I may try and make these for my file folders for important papers!! How fun would the file folders be for the office then..thanks for all you do and share!! Hugs..Joyce
The paper you made is really beautiful. I love the Scalloped flap. It's a beautiful project, I know that I for one, would LOVE to receive it. Whomever your recipient is, is lucky. ;)
Love this! I have watched some of your vids using glue stick and then sewing on it. Is the glue stick dry when you sew? So I am guessing it does not gum up your sewing machine? I have been afraid to sew over glue... Thanks for your response.
What a beautiful idea! Im hoingcto make one for my daughter who is serving a mission in Mexico ^-^! Of couse mine wont look good as yours! But I will give out a go!!! ^-^
Roben-Marie, what a fabulous tutorial.....along with a fabulous piece of mail art!! Thanks so much!! I'm probably missing something.....but would you please clarify how you ended up with an open envelope AFTER stitching the address piece on?? Thanks for the help......Carole from Chicago
I am glad you liked it! I stitched the address label on before I stitched it to the other side of the main envelope. :) At 32:25 - I am stitching the label on and the back of the envelope is not yet attached. Once I stitch the label on, then I stitch the front of the envelope onto the back. Hope that helps!
This is gorgeous! I'm making some mail art for the first time...I'm nearly done with the envelope but I have no idea what to put inside?! haha..If possible could you do a a quick video showing the kind of things you put inside your mail art? Thanks! Lucy xx
how do you seal the envelope for mailing. I wouldn't want to ruin the artwork, but looking at it I can't see how you would seal your contents in and still save the art work. Its absolutely beautiful
When you mail this, I assume you close the envelope. I don’t think I would open it because I would be to scared to mess it up. Have you found anyway to seal it so that it does not mess up the envelope? Great tutorial!
Fantastic. Was so happy to see your video. With a little more practice, I think I could let go of coloring within the lines! Thanks for sharing your talent. Hope to see more videos soon.
Hi Roben, really enjoyed watching this. I love making altered art envies too, they are so much fun to make and post out to friends. I need to ask if thats ok, I joined some place where you and, I think it was, three other ladies gave tutorials on making journals/books, from recycled card, etc. I cant find it anywhere but I know I joined it. Is there any chance you can help me out with a link please? Im miffed with myself for losing it and cant remember the name to go searching again. lol Thanks hugely for any help you can give. huggies Tibby xxxxx
I absolutely ADORE your art. I wish we could see more of the stitching process because I don't understand how the envelop is not stitched inside. I know you said you took two envelops and stiched them together, but I still don't get it. Sorry for being dumb!
I am so glad I was not alone in this query. But we have discovered that after the sewing she attached the pretty piece on 3 sides and that left a pocket opening at the top by the flap for the mail!!
Debs, I saw the same thing you did.......looks as though the envelope would be sewn shut where the address was placed.........I realize that this is a year later than when you posted........that's me......"a day late, and a dollar short"!!! tsk tsk. Did you ever receive a response from Roben-Marie re this? Thanks so much!! Carole from Chicago
I really came late to the party ;) Glad you asked the question again (below). It appears that she did stitch the envelope closed. The large panel stitched to the back became the 'real' back of the envelope! Thanks for asking her!
Oh, I so loved this Roben-Marie. I cant wait to make one. I might have to make one just to keep. I am finding it frustrating that other people are sending for no better term junk mail instead of mailart. If anyone watching this video would like to exchange an envelope like this with me please contact me and we can set it up. scrap4u@comcast.net xoxo

Super gorgeous. Great tutorial as always.
Love this! I have watched some of your vids using glue stick and then sewing on it.
Is the glue stick dry when you sew? So I am guessing it does not gum up your sewing machine?
I have been afraid to sew over glue... Thanks for your response.
yummy, love it I love watching you create your papers. your awesome.

You do an excellent job making a video - nice voice, only the important information and no excessive blabbering. :)
I love what you do. Thanks for sharing
100 % Delightful! ....Thank you for sharing this with us.
Love your mail art. the colors are so bright and rich looking. I would love to receive that envelope in the mail at any time. Joyce
Really unique and pretty! Does the glue stick residue interfere art all with the smooth running of the sewing machine needle? TIA!
Gorgeous. Thank you so much for this awesome tutorial!!!
Absolutely gorgeous.
That's beautiful! Do you leave the threads or tie and cut them?
Thanks for the inspiration Roben.
Roben would you share what kind of paper you created this on? I adore everything you make and can't wait to TRY to make some envelope art.
What a beautiful idea! Im hoingcto make one for my daughter who is serving a mission in Mexico ^-^! Of couse mine wont look good as yours! But I will give out a go!!! ^-^
you are incredible! and inspirational
Very beautiful! What is the purpose of 2 envelopes instead of gluing the painted paper onto the first envelope?
I love the music you used on this video.

I must say I was skeptical at first, but really like the end result!!
Love this Robin. I cannot find the chevron stamps anywhere. ..can you help?
Thankyou so much I like alot of stamps you use. By the way are you going to be a teacher on Wanderlust 2017 ??
This is really neat , I like it a lot
What kind of pencil were you using? I'm still pretty new but I sure do like this alot!
Thank you:)
how tight do you do your bobbin. What size stitch? Can you tell I have problem with sewing paper?
This is gorgeous! I'm making some mail art for the first time...I'm nearly done with the envelope but I have no idea what to put inside?! haha..If possible could you do a a quick video showing the kind of things you put inside your mail art?
Thanks!
Lucy xx
I'll check it out, thank you! X
absolutely love this idea
Really lovely!! But unfortunately, I don't have a sewing machine as I don't know how to sew.... :( So, I guess I have to use a stronger glue, right?
Thank you so much for the advice!!! :) xxx
Yes me too!! Altho, I am getting an idea...what if we punched small holes around and then sewed it together with embroidery floss??!!!
How do you keep the envelope open after stitching through it? You sewed the to label right through both sides which closes off most of the envelope.
how do you seal the envelope for mailing. I wouldn't want to ruin the artwork, but looking at it I can't see how you would seal your contents in and still save the art work. Its absolutely beautiful
I sew it closed or use velcro. :)
When you mail this, I assume you close the envelope. I don’t think I would open it because I would be to scared to mess it up. Have you found anyway to seal it so that it does not mess up the envelope? Great tutorial!
Wow, I'm going to try. Can you tell me the name of the paint again or give me a link....I can't find. Thanks!
oops one additional thing, where do you find the large ledger paper you use?
Beautiful 🥰👍
Thanks so much!
Gorgeous!
+Roben-Marie Smith I'm making this today.:) I just happened to have some of those white envelopes.
Can you mail that with all the strings hanging? Just me, but I would cut them off. Very pretty though.
You bet! I don't cut them off! :)
Fantastic. Was so happy to see your video. With a little more practice, I think I could let go of coloring within the lines! Thanks for sharing your talent. Hope to see more videos soon.
is you site for Stamps up abd running now?

I was wondering the same thing. I feel stupid. lol Its fantastic by the way!
I am so glad I was not alone in this query. But we have discovered that after the sewing she attached the pretty piece on 3 sides and that left a pocket opening at the top by the flap for the mail!!
I guess I'm not seeing this clearly but it appeared you sewed the envelope closed. I do love the patterns and colours though!
it's great, Roben-Marie! :-)
Debs, I saw the same thing you did.......looks as though the envelope would be sewn shut where the address was placed.........I realize that this is a year later than when you posted........that's me......"a day late, and a dollar short"!!! tsk tsk.
