Tom definitely would have won if he could've finished his run.
You could probably say that about most of his runs, he just has bigger balls than any other driver which results in him crashing early a lot of the time. He really drives by the phrase go big or go home. Greatest monster jam driver of all time.
You can say that about any of his or Dennis’s runs

Can't believe they didn't shut him down right away. The rear end broke in two and he had a shock poking through the body. Seems like no one else ever got that kind of leeway with the officials.

Yeah these were the good days of monster jam. Now it’s all just “ohh a tire popped let’s shut him down and not let him keep going” same if a tire comes off. The only time they let you keep going is only when a wheel and an axle stops in place. And there is almost no crush cars either. Tbh world finals 19 freestyle track was one of the worst tracks in my opinion. The world finals 9 track was the best. I really hope they bring something like that back in the future.
@@basicallyultimate8961 Update my friend: Arlington October 2020: Krysten Anderson was shut down for a locked planetary, locked wheel. Not right away, but they ended her run for no reason, and towed her away! Let her back up from the backflip ramp, but yeah.

New Orleans 2008 his truck was more tore up than it was here, shocks broken and even parts of the back half of the chassis had come off the truck, so the top shock mount didn't exist by the time he ended that run
We should go back to this this is more fun to watch the the bs we see today
His crew chief is like: "Tom! What have you done?! Do you realize how much time will take to fix this?!"

Great freestyle, but im so glad Pablo got a world championship as well
if you slow the video down you can see the front tires smashed down on the rims and the front end rebounded. The rear took both the speed & weight of the fall but also the recoil from the rebound from the front so that rear axle shattered like glass. I bet that roll cage twisted as well.

It’s a rare moment now where someone breaks a tie rod or sway bar and they let em go for a bit, either because the officials don’t see the breakage right away or want to let them go for a bit, but aren’t supposed to.
Reasons why the repair workers hate their job
That's pretty impressive to snap a third member right in half like that those things are very beefy especially on those kind of trucks they're probably like 2-in 3-in thick of cast iron That just tells you how much force came down on that thing
The fact that differential was supposed to withstand that impact no matter how old it is

Why did he get shut off but he only had shock sticking in the hood and the rear differential snapping. If he didn't shut off he wouldve get a 37 or 35
If i’m getting my understanding wrong, the differential snapped in the middle making it very hard to drive, and also it would be very hard to repair, so if they didn’t shut him off the damage could be worse, so correct me if my saying is not accurate to what you mentioned.
