  • Normandy High Science teacher Sheryl Rogers has been on unpaid leave for nearly a month as she recovers from her injury and the trauma.
Rogers actually retired from teaching back in 2022. She said colleagues begged her to come back into the classroom due to a need for science teachers. She did -- only to find herself in a situation she'd never experienced in her entire career.

Im so sorry this happened to her. Truth is that a lot of children in school have mental health issues and are literally walking time bombs. It's scary what teachers today are up against 😢

Ridiculous! A lot of these veteran teachers are a blessing & don't have to come back but they do & this happens...more than what people think. SMH. These schools don't even have a lot of certified educators and the students do this. I hope she presses charges, heals, & moves forward with her head held high...you nothing to be ashamed of ma'am & don't feel bad for leaving if you do. ❤️💯

I know the teacher personal she assisted my 2 grown sons with Mr Barron/ Mr Waheed in another program.
She is a beautiful woman and lovely person very encouraging towards the youth. I am a former educator/counselor and have had a similar experience with a student. I was able to luckily protect myself to God be the Glory!!! but when you do know the state of mind you are at risk. As a teacher you will get caught off guard and we become victims and the unexpected behavior is intended for someone else.
I have reflected on returning to help then I hesitate and ask God to order my steps. I 😘 ved teaching I had a highly successful career 34 plus years😢. Until I had one student who was compulsive explosive disorder why? I was simply trying to do my job she transferred from the same district to my district.😢

First clue is that "teachers have to be begged to leave their retirement to help" this horribly failing school district.

And this school district is where my tax dollars are going. No one in my city even sends their kids to that district (they go to private schools) but we got a HUGE increase in our personal property taxes this year and the largest amount is going to this district.

This is tragic. Our daughters best friend since childhood , mid 1960s also a (retired) public school teacher. In West Michigan. She deliberately chose to teach 5th to 7th grade emotionally disturbed tweens. In public school. Until about 10 yrs ago a tween attacked her n broke her arm n more. Regrettably the Union, the Board abandoned her. She quit, retired. Know this lady is one of the kindest, most decent humans Our family has ever known. By the Board,Uniin n that tweens parent not addressing the tweens mental illness, violence ,,Public Education Lost one of the 🤬Best.

She looks like a nice lady. Nice husband. I cannot imagine why anybody would go at this lady. We never did anything like that in our high school. Nobody brought guns to school. We respected teachers. I feel so bad for her. Teachers have this thing where they want the kids to learn and have a good life. I can’t believe it.

"That baby" acted like an animal and needs jailtime...as much as possible. She isn't fit to be in the world with humans. These excuses are why these disgusting children act like this. Embarrassing!

If you actually have all this info then you need to share it with the proper authorities. Have you done that? If not, your comment is very suspicious.
