      Hi Jill!!! This is the first year I went and I've ben there 4 times! What a great place! Just has the right "feel". Once the weather cools off a little it really gets hopping! Thanks so much!!!

    John the first pair of pliers you picked up was a webbing stretcher. Then you picked up the tack hammer. You had me thinking you had an upholstery project. Maybe a coil spring retie. No such luck. You were definitely at a quality show. Thank You

    On a side note, I noticed as you walked by the fruits and vegetables that some of them have the same stickers you would see on grocery store produce, meaning the vendor got them from the same place your local grocery stores do. I don't know the laws in your state, but here in Washington state it's perfectly legal for people to pass off produce as their own and locally grown, they don't have to tell you and they don't have to tell you the truth if you ask them! People do it at farmer's markets and roadside stands and the some of the worst offenders are in Pike Place Market(taking advantage of tourist and local alike). Sometimes you can stand there and watch them pick off the stickers when they're bored. It's just something to be mindful of before you pay oft times outrageous prices thinking you are supporting local farmers/growers and getting a superior product. I was horrified when I found this out myself, but this knowledge helps me see through the charlatans so I can support the REAL local growers I meant to in the first place. =)

    • @ScoutCrafter
      @ScoutCrafter  6 лет назад +1

      Hello Amber Rose! That's good to know!! If you go there often you can see who is always there and who are the real farmers! If you ask them a few questions about their crop it quickly becomes evident they never planted a seed in their life! LOL The Eggplant were amazing though!!!! =) Thanks so much!!!!!!

    • @Levikarose79
      @Levikarose79 6 лет назад +1

      Man that's so awesome, I wish I had the knowledge to be able to call them out on that bs! Oh! Have you ever done any asymmetrical paint work? Some of those tools have interesting angles that might look cool that way. =) Thanks for the excellent content!!

    • @ScoutCrafter
      @ScoutCrafter  6 лет назад +2

      Amber I've done some asymmetrical work but not on tools! Years back I restored half a hammer thinking it would look like a before and after but all it wound up looking like it was laying in a shallow puddle! LOL Thanks!!!!!!!!!

    • @Levikarose79
      @Levikarose79 6 лет назад +1

      That sounds like an interesting illusion but it doesn't sound pretty! LOL I shall peddle my asymmetrical ideas elsewhere! =P

    I went there today and picked up a bike. One tip for next time, if you stay till the last 30 minutes the vendors will leave what they don’t want to haul back to their cars by the trashcans for anyone to just pick up for free. I happened to pick up a 50-60 dollar trunk from the 70s. And a bunch of other cool stuff too. I even managed to get the one thing my younger brother came looking for, Star Wars DVDs I got the full set and an extra (all of which would’ve cost $75) for absolutely FREE!!! So make sure to do that next time! It helps a lot.

    Nice day out,pity I wasnt there...Closest thing we have to that down here is the Bankstown markets on Sunday,at the Bankstown trotting club..Those Kirby vacuum cleaners were SO expensive out here..Scandal with Consumer Affairs Dept..They were being imported and sold door to door for outrageous prices with high pressure direct selling..about $4000 each. Interesting thing was that mist of the parts especially the consumables were identical to Hoover and quite cheap..Liked the idea of replaceable jaws on the pliers,thought that was only on Vises..Had a identical Stilson to that,God knows where it is now..Candle lamp was nice..Keep up the good work..

I hope is doesn't "change" like other swing states! Thanks!!!!!

      Every year there are less and less flea markets....property prices dictate that every cleared property must have a walmart or a 5 story u-store-it building. Abom's flea market in North Florida looks great, id love to go, but its a 9+ hour drive.

    Extra long bow saw blades might be available through a supplier that sells to meat markets or wholesalers. Butchers break down large pieces of meat, sub-primals, using a hand held bow saw. There probably are other sources as well.

      Hello Ian!! I always wanted a professional 48" bow saw they used for lumberjack competitions... I saw one once but it was a little beat up and $50- They are so fast it's crazy! Thanks very much!!!!!!

    What a great show. Your flea markets are definitely more organized than our car boot fairs although in the last two weeks I have done really well as I told Dave on Old Sneelock. I thought of you as I picked up a Billings and Spencer adjustable bicycle wrench for 50p, a German Steinadler adjustable for 50p, a Ford adjustable (King Dick style) for £1 and a Bahco adjustable for £1. Best deal was on an Eclipse sheet metal saw for £2. Last week I got six Yankee screwdrivers for £5 (one almost new) plus two Stanley egg beater drills for £3 (one still in its yellow box). I agree with you about looking in the bins and buckets as that is where you find the bargains.

    • @ScoutCrafter
      @ScoutCrafter  6 лет назад

      Wow Tony those deals were awesome!!!! It's so funny because I almost bought (another) Eclipse hack saw at this show! I just love the design!!! All of your purchases were outstanding! You have a great source!!! Thanks for sharing!!! 😃👍

    When I retire, I'm going to look you up over yonder on the other side! I have an older kerosene smelter that our maintenance guy gave me. I haven't figured out how to use it yet. It has a valve to fill with air and it was used with lead to seal pipes. I'd like to restore it. Great video, AWESOME flea market. Ours here in No. California and So. Oregon aren't that good!

      Funny story- 30 years ago I was cleaning out my garage and I don't throw anything away, but I needed to make room and I had 8 of those bottles in a wire cage carrier... Threw them out... I never stopped regretting that move, that's why I focused in on them... Like they are taunting me! LOL I have a problem with letting things go! =) Thanks so much!!!!!!!

    Well, I was gonna say, once you have 11 pairs of lineman's pliers you probably have the field pretty well covered, then you whipped out 3 pairs at the end. I looked for date codes on what I thought were Kleins. It's hidden under the ratty green plastic handles I don't really want to hack at; the handles are more there than not. And another pair was made by a company called "H. Boker". They look pretty good, kind of standard US made quality. And another pair were Crescents. So no good collection of date codes.

    • @ScoutCrafter
      @ScoutCrafter  6 лет назад

      Those are all great brands!!!! I usually don't use side cutter pliers too much but I do love the design and feel of them so I started collecting them! Plus they are cheap and don't take a lot of room!!! LOL Thanks!!!!!
