- For more than 45 years, Elephant's Trunk in New Milford has been host to a wide array of vendors and artisans alike, selling and trading a multitude of goods and foods. Since it's only an hour drive for me, I decided to make the most of a beautiful day and walk around the aisles to see what I could find.
I met some wonderful people, had some delicious food, and found some REALLY cool stuff! I feel like early season is the best for outdoor thrifting; so many happy faces and a lot of new inventory.
I ended up with only one camera for the day, and I definitely don't feel disappointed about that fact. The weather kept my spirits high, and the mini donuts filled me up before I left.
If you're ever in the New Milford, CT area, be sure not to miss Elephant's Trunk - it's a true experience! Bring cash, sunscreen, and some luck.

10:36 I love those bigger box camera. The larger the better! Also, cute Elsa doll.
Box cameras are super cool!
That Aries III looks like a very good camera at least on paper with a 6 element 45mm F 1.9. Aries also made a cool TLR with Olympus Zuiko lenses.
15:36 $250 for that Minolta SRT 😂😂 That exact setup goes for no more that $45 on ebay. Man, the internet has destroyed the classic garage sale/ thrift store days. Now everyone thinks they have the best camera in MINT+++ condition and ask these outrageous prices 🙄
It really is getting wild what some of these flea markets and "boutique" places are asking for these cameras that are really nothing special.
The SRT is a nice cheap line of cameras but if this guy actually had the 58mm 1.2 he was talking about on that camera the cheapest they are going right now is north of $300 to 700 just for the lens. So unless he misidentified the lens that is actually a bargain and the camera body would be free.
On the more general point prices are getting kind of nuts with people thinking their little point and shoot is a Leica. To me that is the most inflated type of camera at the moment.
Damb I would have offered him $200 for the Minolta with lens and let him dump the rest for $50 that 80mm Pentax wasn't terrible but that Minolta 58 f1.2 was a Unicorn
$250 for everything there is nuts where is this I’m in New England. I wanna talk to that guy
Very nice flea market to bring the family to but if ur there to find stuff to resell don't bother, the vendors prices are insane.
only a hour and a half drive for me, haffa gonna check it. yes, sunday was really nice.
It's definitely worth the drive! Try to get there early if the weather permits.
14:53 ahhhh the classic cock the shutter realize it won't fire try and cock the shutter again realize its stuck move....classic.
OK, I have some of those metal spools, What are they for - developing??
That's correct! They are used in the developing process.
@@lanejpeg Thanks, they were my dad's and I never knew. They came inside little metal cans as well.
@@tomn8tr look for Petterson Development tanks. These stainless steel one are older, and will give problems unless you clean them really good. The plastic ones are better.
