Great knot first of all and you began wrapping towards your hand but forgot to say so. This as opposed to wrapping towards the end of your finger which would seem illogical but surely someone would try to tie it incorrectly.
@@davidmatz8538This isn’t the knot to anchor a truckers hitch with.. would be very hard to undo. Use a water bowline, clove hitch & a half, round turn + two half hitches, etc.
Great pro tip Doug concise and easy to comprehend, of course I would expect nothing less from a McElmury! My grandma on my moms side was a McElmury from Minnesota . My dad was a McElhiney from Tennessee. Two things I know for sure. One, I got a lot of Irish in me. And two is is that you can’t really call yourself a real man if you don’t know how to tie a few good knots Actually I got one more since the first one was kinda weak ! And that is that with block and tackle ( rope and pulleys ) there’s nothing so heavy that a man can not lift it.😊
Would seven turns be considered a hangman’s knot? Because in a hangman’s you don’t go back through the wraps, so I figured there would be some slight differences. Just wanted clarification on that
Thank You for teaching me how to make this awesome knot kind sir! I used it in making a diy tie-out for my Baby Boy Roscoe ·aka· Bubbas (·aka· Whiney Weiner ·aka· *Stubborn Azz German *So am I 😆) and also going to see how this knot works out for fishing later today! 🫶

Oh thank god. Somebody showed how to tie a knot in less than 8 minutes.
Way to go!
Short and articulate. Great demonstration. Thank you.
Used this to hang a piñata today. You saved the party! 🎉
Brilliant, no nonsense tutorial, thanks for this!
Exactly what I was looking for, thank you.
just used this on my brand new grappling hook - works great!!
Exactly what i was looking for and simple to the point, thanks.

Great video. Thank you for putting the long and unnecessary part at the end. A refreshing change.
Great instructions and terrific knot - Thank you
Completely agree. Have been searching for a strong knot to anchor the trucker’s hitch, and other knots.

Thank you for this video. It was extremely helpful. I appreciate the knowledge
Very helpful and easy knot, thank you!

No the hang man's is a bit different, it doesn't really cinch up tight on the rope
Truly appreciate your description and example. A knot that I couldn't comprehend till now. Thank you.
Very helpful, thank you!
This is actually what I was taught to be called a double running over hand, not to mention when it’s heavily loaded it will bite down really tight
Great video

Is this good for a swing?
Isn't this a triple fisherman's as well?
Thank you
Perfect. Thank you.
Can you untie it easily?
Thanks helped a lot
Almost like a uli knot but you go back through the wraps instead of through the hole from the bight
I was think half of the blood knot.
Коротко и понятно👍
Will this work with dyneema line?
The key parts of this video are not zoomed in. Also, switching view from front (viewer) to rear (user) during the key point makes it difficult to see

Why the extra wrap?
I wouldve just called that a fishermans knot due to my love for the double fishermans knot.
Good demonstration, clean work
This is the knot it am tieing my broken winch cable with now. Thanks.
Is this knot strong..
@Yahawashi_Is_The_Messiah he means suicide
Could I use this to tow an RV?
Sure, if you wanna have a permanent knot when you get done
Def. Needs to be the width of your palm with tail at least...
1/2 a fisherman's knot.
(Pursuit)
Basically a stopper knot with an extra loop. You can just tie a figure 8 on a bite
A figure 8 on a bight (not "bite") doesn't serve the same purpose as it doesn't lock itself around the object you're tying into
Almost looks like a double fishermans or in this case a triple fishermans knot
aka: single, double, triple, etc. fisherman's
is that also how to tie a line to a fish hook?
You made me look good in front of my GF!
Can I climb trees with this knot?
Climbing Arborist here, Iv used this knot on my work positioning lanyard for years. I buy lanyard cord by the foot and tie it to the carabiner
@@essi27961 love it! Merry 🎄 Christmas
Nice = flex reduction.
Why ya wearing gloves??
because he's a real man
So he doesn't leave finger prints. He uses this knot to tie up his victims
Train how you'll use it man. Train how you'll use it.
@@ButterBallTheOpossum🤣🤣🤣
So you can see the rope better
Put the camera behind you! Not even watching when I have to try to mirror reverse everything.
Great but your to fast you need to show down for people to learn
Terrible vidoep
Great knot. Poorly described.
Huh? He made it completely clear, what do you mean "poorly described"???
Talk a little faster why don’t you
