      I agree...it is very healthy and that is one of the many reasons we came to Costa Rica.. We choose to live VERY HEALTHY. However, we do like some seasonings in our food. However, nothing wrong with plain healthy Costa Rica food. Thanks for your input.

      Hey buddy, Thanks for your comment and YES, we sure can. We were just talking about doing some drive through type videos of some of the towns we've lived in, but I think doing a video like you described...."Best Places to live in Costa Rica" would be great. Tell me, what type of places are YOU thinking? Near beach, mountains, in the town, outskirts of the towns or city? At the moment, we live in Rivas...which is about 20 minutes outside of Perez Zeledon, San Isidro. You can see a map by going to this link: www.google.com/maps/place/Guadalupe,+San+Jos%C3%A9+Province,+Rivas,+Costa+Rica/@9.4190873,-83.6628266,13.73z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x8fa14bbb3746c7cd:0xbaba28db5b9e5079!8m2!3d9.4288038!4d-83.6461481

      Thanks for your reply bro, and please let me explain. I've been to CR just once for a week only, however I stayed in San Jose (hated it) and Santa Teresa (loved). From what I've noticed, the Pacific side is more to my liking, since I don't speak any Spanish and didn't get gringo priced.
      Since I was only there for a week, I wanted to know more about the best places, ideally with more expats/foreigners such as Santa Teresa or Tamarindo, doesn't have to be on the beach.
      PS- Nobody has done this, you should. You should warn newcomers to CR about the fact ATM's stop working at midnight.

    When we go down to our house near Montezuma, I eat alot of Casadas. Typically Pollo. Their chicken is do fresh down there. Also Pizza from a small local chain called Henry's.

    • @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica
      @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica  3 года назад +1

      Yes...Casadas are a great way to taste the local flavor and the food most Ticos eat and they are the best prices if you want to save a bit of money. How is the Pizza there? I've yet to find a pizza that is similar to what I'm used to in the states...but I like a thick crust too....Can't find that in Costa Rica...or I haven't. Lol

    • @douglacoursiere2269

      Not sure about thicker crusts. The ones we get are in between thick and thin crust. We normally go once a week with our Gringo friends. There was the best Italian place a few blocks down, when we first started coming down. But he was fooling around with a local and his wife split. The restaurant closed, but it was the best Italian food I have ever had. Especially the Teramesu.

      Many people are only use to seeing the beach communities and are surprised at the cooler temperatures. It's all about altitude. Leave the beach and travel up a mountain and it can be cold. We often wear light jackets especially at night.

      Yes...we live in San Isidro, and love the cool weather, but you can’t see the ocean from here. But, if you ride the coast, you’ll see lots of mountains close enough to the ocean where you can enjoy cool temps and see the ocean. Those lots come at a premium....but if you are diligent in your search....you can find some good deals.

    • @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica
      @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica  3 года назад

      YES, it is safe to use motorbikes. The first several years...we ONLY had a motorbike. YOU MUST BE observant. Like a lot of places...some drivers do NOT respect motorbikes.. You can lock the steering...so really no worries about any one stealing your bike. Your helmet...YES, if you have a nice one. Buy a carrying case to put on the back of your bike to lock up your helmet, rain gear, and misc things.

      Some of our video footage and/or images are from prior to the pandemic...actual places we've lived or visited over the last 7 years. When making videos at present, we have tried to avoid capturing the masks when possible, but if you look closely (the "Food in Costa Rica 2020" video for example) you will catch glimpses of people wearing masks. At present, masks and social distancing are required. An exception is once seated in a restaurant to eat.
