The Faulconer team did an amazing job with their soundtracks. Scenes such as Vegeta’s world tournament speech aren’t the same without this track in particular.
This theme, with its slow and ominous tone, would have been perfect for a somewhat extended scene of Vegeta calmly pummelling an already-beaten Frieza to death. Just to show that, family man he's become, he's still very capable of summoning up the old, cold Prince Vegeta when the time is right.

2:56 - 3:15 I like to think that this little heroic-sounding part represents the good in Vegeta's nature; the softer, protective side which he reserves for his family (and Goku, to some extent). However, this side is eclipsed by his Saiyan pride and dark past, which is why the music starts to get intense at 3:16 and we start to hear the hell's bells again at 3:19.
vegeta just keep getting debuffed by toriyama throughout the series to make goku and gohan look good. he's the only one i respect in the series, he earned everything by hard work, you dont turn super saiyan by training in the spaceship for 3 days and watching your friend die, you turn super saiyan by years of training, fighting, determination, pride, pain and blood simple example, his sacrifice didnt finish buu, but goku's spirit bomb did, thats just pure toriyama's preference, its not logical at all, because goku or his son has to be the final hero, no matter what

Imagine a vegeta series that takes place as a prequel. So, you empathize with him and with the saiyan race and understand exactly why vegeta is the way he is. He did what he had to in order to survive, haunted by the trauma of his past. Not that it justifies what he did, but that would be shown, as well. Furthermore, while vegeta is the embodiment of pride, it would be interesting to layer him with guilt and shame for who he is, his place in the universe, and what it means to be a saiyan. I know he's capable of those emotions because in his final atonement, he says he's doing this even for Goku. I suspect this comes from both respect for Goku as well as a guilty side of him, which he doesn't show. It would also put his admittedly dislikeable introduction to the series inside of a larger context. Too bad we'll never get it, though. RIP toriyama :(

So I just got out of a 12 year relationship and have been depressed for the last 8 months. There hasn't been much things that have helped me get through this. But for some reason today I thought of this theme and I played it. I drove to work with this shit on blast and I started laughing maniacally. Something about this helpd me remember who I am and it made me realize I have to fight for myself and go back to the PowerHouse that I used to be before she broke me.
