Most people think of Vegeta's Final Flash or Gohan vs Cell when listening to this. But all I remember is Tien bravely holding off Semi-Perfect Cell. "I might just be a pothole in the road to you, big guy. But it's going to be one heck of a deep pothole".

I know it's maybe a little lame, but DBZ has always been inspiring to me because at its core it's about a group of people who refuse to accept that there are any limits to what they can do, who will always strive to work harder to face any challenge or meet any goal. When I listen to this I don't just think of Gohan or Vegeta, I think of Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha and Tenshinhan trying their hardest to save their friend, even though they know they aren't powerful enough. You connect to the struggles of those characters despite how they live in a fantasy world of planet-shattering laser blasts and supersonic flight, because at the end of the day their struggles are the same as ours, whether that be to face up to the expectations of our birth, to overcome self-doubt in order to become a better version of yourself, or to come to terms with who we are. Kai could still be his preference. I'm sure the OG fans in Japan who were years ahead of us thought we were dumb for liking the the Funimation over the Japanese. We're all Dragonball fans, that's all that matters haha
I love the original DBZ score, but I also love the Faulconer score. It just hits different. Mainly cause I grew up with this one and it makes every fight scene seem much more intense.
Man the chills whenever this came on back in the day when these episodes were first airing live on toonami. This was always paired with scenes that were absolute PEAK.
"If you are holding ANYTHING back. Release it! Release it now Gohan! Think of all the people he's hurt, the pain he's caused! NOW MAKE THEIR PAIN YOUR POWER!"
I'm Brazilian and I didn't hear when I was younger and even adult this and others soundtracks of Bruce Falconer on DBZ, that's a completely different version of interpretation of the series that I grown up with and I been watching the English version of DBZ by RUclipsrs reacting (to learn and for improvement of my English, by the way I been doing by a few years now). I gotta say that this is a legendary version just like the original and sometimes even better tho, congrats on this art of music/soundtrack of yours 🔥
⚜️ Nesta track, eu fico me imaginando em várias ocasiões elevando o ki, e a natureza respondendo a medida que eu elevo o ki, só os fãs de DBZ entendem a imaginação que é, haha…
If only the dragon balls were real and if only the cause wasn't natural. You made my childhood never did i think i would be inspired to watch anime or love dbz so much and you made that possible Goku is my hero only because of you. R.I.P. Toriyama Sensei :(
Unless my memory has failed me, I could swear that this theme was used for EVERY tense scenario, for how vivid it is even in my late 20's. And I do adore it, if you must know. ❤
I read something online talking about how the original 67 episodes of the ocean dub run of dbz was cancelled for low ratings. When it was renewed on Cartoon Network with faulconer composing, ratings skyrocketed all of the sudden. Ratings plummeted again when he didn’t do the score for gt. There’s a common denominator in all of this; DRAGONBALL IS BETTER WITH FAULCONER
I lived in kansas a few years and whenever a storm or a tornado would be rolling through. Id sit on my front porch and watch it and have this blaring in my house. It was fucking epic to watch the sky light up like that.
I remember when I watched this...Although I watched the original versions (in jpn), I did rewatch the entire series in english. When I was about 13. the shows came on Toonami and the theme/BGM always gave me goosebumps. I was quite the hyper kid back then and even now, Bruce Faulconer's OST still gives me goosebumps.
I know its fanciful thinking but they should rarely hire Bruce Faulconer's studios in the Funi dub of Dragon Ball Super. Seriously, I can't imagine the show without it.
One of my favorite OSTs. Played during the Kamehameha battle between Cell and Gohan and also whenever they summon Shenron of course. Absolutely hits the feels. Been listening to this since summer 2016.
People can say what but faulconer's soundtrack for dB is way better than the Japanese version, it goes to show how powerful music is, it plays a huge part in television shows as well.
For me the dragon theme is the best theme in the series, when it plays you know shit is about to get real, the second best theme....hrm I love pikkon's theme.
The music is a large part of what made the show successful, you knew you were watching DBZ it did not, sound, look, feel, or taste like any other cartoon/anime or show on TV at the time, when I was younger I was like what is this it sounds like it could be a movie... that's why DBZ exploded we were seeing a fresh show, that brazenly set it's own path, and it set itself far apart from all the other shows intentionally the music was on par with motion pictures... in a kids cartoon let that sink in, and you could tell the studio behind it worked hard to sync the sounds to the atmosphere, and mood, to be fair it did not always work, but most of the serious tracks worked, not many cartons got this level of attention for the soundtrack back in the day, it was light stuff you almost never heard, orchestral rock music in a cartoon with tracks dedicated to a scene, theme, or mood.
A lot of it sounded like either Ron Wasserman's work on MMPR, or a Vangelis imitation. And the budget was too low for the tracks to sound motion picture level, really (which is on the studio for sparing all expenses). Not exactly "Orchestral" as a lot of it was MIDI samples.
This music is what made the series sooo great! I cant watch the anime without these beautiful master peaces in it! It creates wonder and puts me into a state of euphoric epicness and takes me to a place I can not describe. This music makes the DBZ world come to life! Bruce Faulconer, you are my hero! Hope you can make this beautiful and epic music for Dragon Ball Super when it comes to the U.S! DB is not the same without it!

This goes so hard. I freaking love this.
Vegeta: "CELL! Once again you have taken for granted the powers of a true saiyan warrior!" *powering up the Final Flash* "Now if you really wanna test your strength, stay right where you are!"
Trunks: "So thats what he's doing, he's trying to provoke Cell into challenging his attack"
Krillin: "Aaagh, okay thats one explaination.. How about this one? VEGETA'S LOST HIS MIND AND HE'S GONNA FRY US AAAALLLLL!!!!"
Trunks: YOU'RE GONNA DESTROY THE WHOLE PLANET! FATHEEEEERRRRR YOU HAVE TO STOOOOP IT!!!!
FIIIINAL FLAASH!!!
GRR....AAAAAHHHH!! Dx
njintau FINAL FLASH...
* alot of flasy effects along with the vegeta ssj theme
-cell : whats this?! I know this scene of by heart.. I don't like what comes after though
Cell: OH SHIT!
Aw how cute, he named i-OH SHIT
xxernesto562xx FINALL FLAASHH!!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Rip Toriyama you’ve touched our souls and gave us unforgettable memories
when Jesus comes back, I'm going to play this song to make it even more epic.
+Bella's Dad wow! i never thought of that lol. Maybe he should order the angles to play this when he returns lol
Jesus having a khemhameha battle against Satan. that would be awesome.
RUclips Watcher But Instead He'll Say, FINAL JUDGMENT! !!!
+Gregory Nearing lmao!! Satan would be rekt
please do
Everyone seems to be remembering the Vegeta Final Flash and Gohan VS Cell clash, but I'd like to show some appreciation for the Tien Tri Beam against Cell as well when this track played. That was one of the most epic moments of the Cell Saga imo and made Tien look like the ultimate badass who isn't from a different planet.
+Naruto Uzumaki Ki ko fuck yourself! (DBZ Abridged if you didn't know and thought I was literally telling you to piss off lol)
agreed
I agree. I thought I was the only one who loved the tri beam at that moment.
+Naruto Uzumaki "F*ck power levels! F*ck Super Saiyans! And F*ck you! SHIN KIKOHO!"
"CELLLLLLL!"
"Once again, you have taken for granted…the powers of a TRUE Saiyan warrior!!"
"Now if you REALLY want to test your strength, then stay right where you are!"
when my brother said kai was the shit and I showed him this he said I'm sorry
Loool
Damn.
R.I.P. to the Goat thank you for what you did😢
Rip the Goat Toriyama 🙏🏾
You hear that? That sounds like hard work and sacrifice.
RIP Toriyama. You have inspired all of us.
Awwww noooooo! The earth is gonna blow!!
Vulcan Joe
I got goosebumps reading that cuz that just tells us that these two powerful beings are causing the planet to go unstable
"If you are holding ANYTHING back. Release it! Release it now Gohan! Think of all the people he's hurt, the pain he's caused! NOW MAKE THEIR PAIN YOUR POWER!"
💯
Goddamn this gives me goosebumps
*S A Y G O O D B Y E .*
R.I.P. Toriyama Sensei :(
@RainbowDash-sn7ji if they were
One of the best fucking theme in anime
Unless my memory has failed me, I could swear that this theme was used for EVERY tense scenario, for how vivid it is even in my late 20's. And I do adore it, if you must know. ❤
Gohan
"It's now or never dad"
Goku
"I hope you're ready my son"
Kamehamehaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So much atmosphere in one track, amazing
Hardest track from the faulconer team thank you for the greatness 🙏
This song gives me chills
Why does this bring a tear to my eye every time !?
I remember when I watched this...Although I watched the original versions (in jpn), I did rewatch the entire series in english. When I was about 13. the shows came on Toonami and the theme/BGM always gave me goosebumps. I was quite the hyper kid back then and even now, Bruce Faulconer's OST still gives me goosebumps.
i have this song stuck in my head, gets me through a long day at work
I know its fanciful thinking but they should rarely hire Bruce Faulconer's studios in the Funi dub of Dragon Ball Super. Seriously, I can't imagine the show without it.
+Jerry Slammin (SlamBurger138) all of dragon ball is magical with the Japanese music too
R.I.P Akira Toriyama ❤ you rise with Shenron and fly with him to watch over us. God Bless.
"HE'S MY BABY AND NO ONE CAN TAKE HIM AWAY!!!"
CHI CHI!!! HE'S GOKU'S SON, HE CAN'T BE BEATEN!
I come back to this video every time I get the dragon balls in Sparking Zero.
Release it, Gohan! Release EVERYTHING! Remember the pain he's caused. The people he's hurt! NOW MAKE THAT YOUR POWER!!
Cell: SAY HI TO YOUR FATHER FOR ME!!!
Cell: SAY GOODBYE!
When I was a kid this song would sometimes play in my head when we would play kickball or have field day 😂😂
One of my favorite OSTs.
“NOW IF YOU REALLY WANT TO TEST YOUR STRENGTH, STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE”
For me the dragon theme is the best theme in the series, when it plays you know shit is about to get real, the second best theme....hrm I love pikkon's theme.
King Kai: Oh no! The earth is going to blow!
Goku: Agh...
@@davidxiang3725 To think the first DBZ villain to actually blow up the earth was Kid Buu.
After listening to this track, you can't possibly say that the original, ocean dub, or kai music is better than the faulconer music. TOO good.
The best theme for the title of an epic action-packed anime.
@Steve Kent worst? Why?
"NOW IF YOU REALLY WANT TO TEST YOUR STRENGTH, STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE!"(Vegeta to Cell)
Cell: "Oh... SHIT!!!"
noooooh its Whats this!?
@@Replica_Films2000 Bruh they remake it you dumbass. In remake they said what's this. Watch this ruclips.net/video/S_i9z_nS2U4/видео.html
You said it my man! You said it!
D&mn nicely said!!
no disrespect but this soundtrack is better than the Japanese one
Including Kai
then what are you doing here?
He's here trying to come to terms with his denial.
100% agree. I miss it in Super.
All of Bruce Faulconer's Dragon Ball Z music is absolute garbage.
RIP AKIRA TORIYAMA!! 😭😭😭
LONG LIVE THE LEGEND MANE
Man Bruce Faulconer's music was the piece of the puzzle that made dbz absolutely epic, without this music the show would be incomplete.
It didn't cover the complete show though (yes the reason is because they switched from Ocean studios to in-house).
@@gespenst1329The best thing they ever did was switching from Ocean to FUNimation
RIP TO THE GOAT TORIYAMA
This music is what made the series sooo great! I cant watch the anime without these beautiful master peaces in it! It creates wonder and puts me into a state of euphoric epicness and takes me to a place I can not describe. This music makes the DBZ world come to life! Bruce Faulconer, you are my hero! Hope you can make this beautiful and epic music for Dragon Ball Super when it comes to the U.S! DB is not the same without it!
