During my first week of virtual learning, my four year old decided to crawl and lie under the table where I was teaching and started singing loudly. My daughter was trying to grab his legs to get him from under the table. When she finally got him he ran and said I'm sick of mommy's meetings. All she has is meetings, meetings, meetings! Thank God the other teacher in my Zoom room said she didn't hear anything. I had been in meetings all day everyday for 2 weeks before school started. I guess he had had enough. He's better now though since he started school. I work in a different county than I live.
I don’t think that I am any of these. I’m more of the frustrated teacher suddenly expected to convert an entire curriculum into digital form overnight. Then finding out that school officials are seemingly unaware of things like curriculum. They would prefer that I run my class like they run their webinars. It’s like watching the Brady Bunch on drugs. I hate to say this but I may not still be a teacher at the end of all this.
I'm not a teacher or a student (idk how i ended up on this video) but I hope you still are a teacher at the end of this, despite all this chaos. it's such a blessing for a student to have a good teacher that inspires them to learn. I went to a horrible high school in the inner city where no one cared about education. I had one math teacher who inspired me and now I'm getting my PhD in math at Columbia. The service teachers provide is incalculable. and you seem like you care a lot, so don't quit. I'm sure your students recognize the care and consideration you have for them, even if they can't verbalize it.
I feel the pain. I no longer teach, though it wasn’t my choice. Well, I don’t formally teach and get paid. My former students are having issues because this is something totally abnormal, so I’ve been “teaching” them that I still love and care about them and I engage them on Facebook. A lot of them need support right now, and I have developed some significant health issues, but I’m always available to them and I make sure to keep emphasizing that. Today I started a thing, going in alphabetical order, telling my kids everything good about each one I have on Facebook. I do t think they hear it often enough from other adults than parents or guardians and sometimes even then. I may not be in the classroom, but I still teach nonetheless. You,and all of us, are navigating a whole new animal and the powers that be think it’s a snap because some have taught before. They haven’t done THIS before and most who’ve been in a classroom, haven’t rolled with changes every darn year. You’re important and if stepping away is what you need to stay sane?(short of illegal activity 🤣) do it. Best of luck.
Yeah and then the university is shocked and surprised when half your students cheat their asses off on the final because they never thought to put ANY security into online exams. Hey you got a 50% on midterm 1 and 2 but congrats on your 80% on the final wow so amazing. Oh only 40% of the class watched my lecture videos? I know my powerpoints aren't that good without the video to go with them...
I wore school uniform by choice. Im starting to think uniforms are laced with some chemical agent that turned me into a Teacher ... or the fact I had awesome teachers .
@@theroadtocosplayandcomicco5840 So did I!! I was telling my daughter how I always wore khaki pants, skirts or shorts, with polos and Keds, right up to graduation. She said "thats not cute! Thats a school uniform!". 😩😩😩 Well, I thought it was cute.
I am the 'isolated extrovert' and was moved from Face-to-Face teaching this year to Distance Learning. I thought I was looking at myself except I teach grade 7. My students actually respond to me, believe it or not, especially in the morning and at every break and at the end of the day. My school board provided the choice for parents and I am desperate to be in a classroom with students. I can't wait until things are somewhat 'normal' again... I cried so hard when I was moved to Distance Learning. At least I'm comfortable with technology!
I will add a 9th type. The one that videotaped all their lectures and put them online at the start of all this. Yeah that is me, but I am college so I can pull it off.
My sons teacher videod almost all her lessons beforehand and she teaches 4th grade. So it went like me watching the video and then me teaching it to my son. Except math videos we never watced those.
A year later and from the perspective of an online oy teacher. I offered guidance and encouragement to ll my sons teachers when they were suddenly thrust into being virtual teachers. Something I had spent year perfecting and I was told to back off and stay out it. I also had spent years being told by many teacher friends who teach brick and mortar that I wasn't a "real" teacher. Now after a year they most all respect my teaching more and some even said they were sorry for not taking me up on my offer. But regardless I am proud of all teachers who have worked so hard this past year plus and did the beat they could with the circumstances they were dealt. You are all rock stars and none of you are paid enough.
Hahahah...that was me in the last type! 😂😂😂 I hope one day state departments of education will consider teacher moms’ situation during these pandemic times.
I am a late riser and technologically challenged. If I had a dollar for every time my students reminded me that I'm muted I'd be able to retire and forget all this distance learning shit lmao
1:08 I think I'm the extrovert teacher. That's so me on our virtual meeting. Hi guys! I missed you! How are you all! I see so-and-so and so-and-so! lol Thanks for this! A great pick me up.
I teared up and almost actually cried at the start of our first virtual Department meeting after closing school, just seeing the other language teachers I'd worked with all year but hadn't been with for 2 weeks.
“I’m coming I’m coming!!” 😂 me every time. Uhhh my internet was down until 11:30.... also my 3 yr old climbs on me and shouts “mommy I need to poop” while I’m teaching. It’s a struggle
Same I do student academic conferencing weekly on Mondays. I plan my school week and get things done. Mondays Wednesdays Fridays Saturdays and Sundays are ISDs Independent Study Days those days I do my readings watch my videos and whatever else I need to get done. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my Zoom Meeting days where I attend my art class. I also have academic business hours that I stick to. 1pm to 5pm till dinner anything left is pushed to the next ISD day.
I am definitely the late riser. I didn't start my live classes until 10 am and finished the last individual conferences at 430. It was more chalke going teaching virtually then in person
Enjoy all the videos! Thank God for some humor. Hate it when admin tell us that old dogs can learn new tricks and then get all condescending as we struggle along.

This is amazing. It's so true, but i could barely watch this video cause it was like you were cosplaying Garcia from Criminal Minds and i mean this as a SUPER DUPER COMPLIMENT
Late riser and teacher mom. Once woke up to a text from my coworker asking if I was on the zoom meeting. Zoomed downstairs to get on my computer and it was over in 5 mins lol
What about the teacher who is normally an introvert, converts to extrovert and obnoxiously cheery to keep her kids engaged then to get called out on tone by a parent, while trying to adapt to a split class having come from a straight class for two months and balancing curriculum, a million emails, sad children and coworkers who don't knock before they enter your room while your live teaching. Id love to see that one!
Yeah especially when you put videos on a school website that is not designed to be user friendly in any aspect and everyone's computer has different tabs for the same page and I am trying to explain how to find them videos based on my home computer then find my office computer is completely different. No wonder only 40% of them watched the videos... A hot mess. Then there is writing online exams. OMG took me FORTY hours PER exam to input all the questions in a online clunky system that was really not built for exams.
Last year my bio teacher had us sit on zoom for an hour while she literally just tapped the screen trying to get her slides to work, meanwhile none of us could leave the app to do anything else bc she wanted to see our faces
Teacher mom here, “Mrs. G, you forgot to mute before you yelled at your kids” 🤦🏽♀️
It is not our problem,it is funny
When I did it I was in our staff meeting...
😆 I don't know how you teachers do it. Especially if you have your own children
My teacher: “NO GET OFF THE IPAD RIGHT NOW! HUH NO!”
My class: ._.

I am an Introvert that wishes my extrovert family would leave me alone a lot more.
We are also two extroverts + one introvert. Gosh I wish that introvert would talk more.
That’s the mood
one corona trick for ya: fake coughing.
Ask them politely for some alone time.
If they can't respect your boundaries, then they don't deserve you.

Awww, special shout out to the teachers who also have kids. 😕
Tracy Martin I have two teachers one has a baby and one has two kids
My teacher has three kids, construction, and a loud dog
Thanks I am a teacher with 2 kids. Writing an exam is soooo much harder with distractions from the kids all the time.
1 of my teachers has 2 little kids and another has like 5 young kids
Deena H dang, it’s harder when they’re young.
I'm a late riser and a go getter. I sleep in but once I'm up I'm hyper and gets lots of things done.
Everyone: That's funny, teaching in a closet.
Teachers: Why didn't I think of that?
Once my teacher asked if I was in my closet while on zoom. I was actually under my bunk bed
The sock over the camera was just great!!!
That one teacher covering the camera to sleep is so me😂
Isolated Extrovert. Right here. Reason why I got into this crazy field in the first place. Send help.
I’m going crazy 😔
I wore school uniform by choice. Im starting to think uniforms are laced with some chemical agent that turned me into a Teacher ... or the fact I had awesome teachers .
You scare me

Lol, I love the "lesson plans" at 1:46 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 (pause to read the whole thing cause it goes by too quickly, but it is GOLD! )
Yeah...I like "ignore the voices".

I'm a _go get a nap as soon as the last class is over_
Teacher mom of 13 and 11 year old boys here - "Boys, stop. Stop. Stop. Just stop." 😜
Wow- so many kids
@@zoeypederson-sharp9204 She said 2... I read it that way as well lmao
@@glossyraspberries9124 I know 2 is alot
The isolated extrovert was my teacher last year when COVID first started and that’s even the way she wore her hair, makeup, and clothes,
This needs a Pt 2 with 8 more!
The band teacher OWNS A LEAD STEEL DRUM!
He's really good! My daughter has played steel pan with him before.
I’m totally the first teacher....technologically challenged!!! God bless my colleagues for their patience!!
This video was entertaining. The one, 'Hanging On By A Thread' was sooo funny! 😂
The Late Riser is the funniest. "Oh no, I can't see you guys" 😂😂
I'm losing it at "Did you lose a tooth?" 😂 Seriously, my students won't stop showing their state of toothlessness if i don't recognize it

That hair was insane. I loved it!
1:45 "when did zoom become chatroulette?" 😂😂😂
"150 tambourines" got me :-D
This is hilarious! I literally have my office/classroom in my master closet!!
My principal literally dressed like Joe Exotic in a zoom meeting!
I love the participation guys! You guys are special.
I'm not even a teacher but this was gold
My teacher is the type of person who randomly dances at every beginning of the meeting then 5 minutes later it’s like she lost her soul from her body
Hahahah...that was me in the last type! 😂😂😂 I hope one day state departments of education will consider teacher moms’ situation during these pandemic times.
The isolated extrovert startled me😲
She really did just cover her cam with a sock and say that she couldn’t see them. xD
Yes 😂 And did anyone else notice that she was “sleeping” with a full face of makeup? 😂
Yea hI!
How are yoU
-comforts pillow-
-looks at sock-

Cruising a fine line between late riser and the teacher mom
"what's our goal?"
Ignore the voices
Same
That was hysterical! I am the mom at the end literally with wig on too! But I only have one son I needed that so bad thank you so much
OMG Mr. Swick! I just stumbled onto this!
