Mark I think your ideas about manufacturers and consumers deserving better testing is refreshing. Your journey into the statistics of what constitutes a big enough samples size, how you adequately control for varying conditions during testing, and the basic statistics of mean, median and variance are turning you into a real golf scientist. And I love it.

Good fun, Mark. I've never owned a TM FW wood that I can remember. You are correct about them getting replaced less often. I had the same one for 6 years until this year, I just replaced it with a Cleveland Hy-Wood 3+ Hybrid/Fairway wood thingie.

Mark, I really trust your reviews, because you are unbiased in letting we viewers know the good the bad and the ugly. The only bias I have seen I your videos was with Mizuno irons, but for most of us that's a given.
When I tested the Stealth 3 wood I was hitting it to the right but it was hitting them 15 yards longer than I hit anything else, and it was driver distance for me.

Mark, you are one of my club testing fav's. I NEVER buy a club without seeing your feedback first. The fact that you test folks equipment without them sending it to you speaks volumes for how awesome you are,a man of the people and I kow I greatly appriciate that. I don't often subscribe to people but you are getting your bell rung(not sure if thats online lingo)hahahaha Gong to test a stealth tomorrow.

    Hi mark
Still playing a callaway steelhead I have had for years its just so reliable hit it 220 off the deck I bought a tm m2 3 wood in 2017 but could never match the consistency I have with the callaway. The real stealth.
Keep up the great work. Mark

My 3W is the Mizuno ST200X. It has the super light MFusion shaft which makes it very easy to swing and get the ball off the ground. Love hitting it both off the floor and the tee.

Hit it at the demo day and loved it. 250 off the deck with the 13.5. I just bought a used tour edge xcg4 with a motore shaft I love in it, same as my cb4 5wood. I think that rdx red shaft is just a really good fit and feel for me though. I smoked the stealth driver once they put the rdx from the stealth plus in it at the demo day.

I’m still gaming a RBZ 3 wood and I recon it goes as far as any Fairway wood around on a good strike. I mainly use mine off a tee and I’m tragically bad hitting it off the deck. Def need to work on that would be huge game changer if I had it up my sleeve.

Honestly, I glad to see you still testing clubs after so many years and refining it over the years. I would agree that better testing would be just better for all companies really.

TM 3 Woods are great. Also the hybrids are really special. You can see the Adams golf expertise still coming through.
I am not a fan of some of the marketing and agree that they should be more selective who they give it to. Although that's part of their marketing strategy. If someone gets a free driver to test, it's not often they are negative. Alot of companies like Yes men.

my 17yr old tried the stealth driver on launch day against the Sim, Sim 2, Ping 425 and TSi3 drivers. The stealth is all fluff and no stuff (for all the marketing). It didn't even beat the Sim or Sim2 for the price and all the crazy car salesman claims. It just looks ridiculous at address (not my words, my sons and most kids are drawn to flashy and new). Short story is he walked away with a TSi driver that day. Marketing is great, but honestly folks, try them all and get what works best for you regardless of the marketing campaign......thanks for the honesty Mark. keep it up!!!!!

I have sim max 15 degree and it is hottest 3 wood ever had. I gained 10 yards automatically over a titleist I have but more importantly my dispersement numbers improved dramatically. I can hit low running or high bombers. I love it but, ironically, I hated the 5 wood in sim2 and kept my tsi2 5 wood in the bag. I hit the stealth and wasn’t feeling it so won’t change. Great review as always!

Great looking fairway wood, little bit like Tsi2 which just looks & feels fantastic - great distance too without being too close to driver or too far from hybrid 3. Was at a fitting today, looking to bring a 3wood back into my bag. Tried this funny enough. Was very nice. Wasn't the best performing and found it a bit dead/full or something? In fairness I could have flipped a coin by the end of the session to pick any Wood head I tried and would have been happy. In the end looking like a Titleist TSI2 and most shockingly, was getting best performance moving into a regular shaft from stiff.
Left the session happy with the output and the decision (yet to pull the trigger on buying) but left me alot of questions for what I thought about Regular vs Stiff shafts. Like I was swinging faster with the Regular and felt I could proper tear into the ball, where with my current stiff setup if I ever try going fast I leak out to the right so bad. Was a great session and well worth it

  • @Trump2024Kentucky
    @Trump2024Kentucky 2 года назад +2

Most products in the last 5 years are very similar IMPO. I just don’t see much difference in performance as long as you are fit to the shaft and the head speaks to you especially with woods. I do like the look of this 3 wood. Currently I am using the M2 Driver and 3 wood and they do well. Would love to try this 3 wood out however. I do use a three wood a few times a round. Sometimes when I don’t want to if I miss hit a short drive 😁
You hit that farther than my driver 😂🤣😂
Note: I am not a fan of the red face on the Driver or a carbon face but that’s just me.

"The real stealth" I love my m4 3 wood, it sometimes goes as well as my driver but most times not. Loving the club. Hmm, probably not.
Ethical standards and a presumption of gullibility on the part of the audience really surprise me from some RUclipsrs: these examples make my point.
I was just watching another RUclipsr talk about the stealth fairway (last year’s model). They said “easy to hit off the ground”. They were hitting from a teeing area, when a half tee on which they perched the ball flew up into the air. Say what? Off the ground?!?! C’mon, really!
Same RUclipsr when reviewing wedges: I was interested to see one ball go long right, over the green. So, I took particular notice of the landing points of the balls. One missed long right, one missed short of the green, one missed about seven yards right - but on the green…. You get the idea. The RUclipsr hit the green only a couple of times on eight or nine tries.
Admittedly, it would be hard to concentrate on hitting balls and talking to camera. You’d know.
But when the RUclipsr went on to say about wedge shots sprayed everywhere “tight dispersion”. I gave up.
I like your integrity and commitment to fair appraisal of equipment - which is why I and others watch what you do, and pay little attention to the voices and assorted carnival barkers.
      Keep up the good work.

I picked up an M6 3 wood with skymarks at a bargain. I totally agree, im not the longest hitter but struck well it will go 240, which is as good as a driver off the deck. It is incredible, however, i do not have enough control over it so it only comes out every now and then. I must practice more with it. I would like to see the line up marks on t se if that helps my dispersion overall.

I remember when the TM 3 Rescue first came out, in fact I only recently got rid of mine, was that the first “hybrid”? All I know is when I had a bit of speed, I could really get it out there with that and it was a fairway finder. This new TM Stealth 3 wood seems to have a deeper face than say my G425 3 wood, looks nice but is it as easy to hit off the deck for a mid handicap player. I asked a couple of guys for a direct comparison between the new Mizuno/cobra/TM/rogue. Just for the fun. No replies. I asked for a reason why after they reviewed a seed ball, and said it was as good as anything , they didn’t play it, what stopped them playing it. No replies. 😂😂

Such a good point about testing Mark. Unfortunately the truth is probably a bit of a sad indictment of people in general. I unfollowed someone's channel recently that I have been following on here for years. That's because as the number of subscribers went up, the genuine data went down and the marketing rhetoric bled into the void. From a manufacturer's point of view, you don't care because your product is getting in front of 2 million people. Even if they're not watching the video, they are seeing the finger nail and click bait headline. In some cases the video has to be taken down as it's not factual, but the message is delivered and the damage is done. I don't always agree with your opinions Mark, but value them immensely because they're "your" opinions. And by that I mean they don't change overnight because you were "incentivised" to change your mind.

It tis a pretty club. But then I think my 2019 version of the Cobra Speedzone is too. And I think mine is likely more forgiving if not as long. And that works for me. This is the first 3 wood I could reliably hit off the deck. I guess technically it's not a 3 wood right now as I have it set to 16 degree's because that gives me the perfect distance off the tee for 4 of the holes on the executive course I live on. Still, I hit it longer that many in my little community hit their drivers. And even set to 16 degree's I can flight it down when playing into the breeze easier than about any other club in my bag today. That said, when all the manufacturers come back this year for club day in a couple months, I plan on trying everything including that 3 wood. I've missed that during Covid but I believe we will get it back this year so I'm really looking forward to a day of hitting all the new hotties. lol

I would be more likely to go stealth 3w than the driver. And not just bc of the crown dent on my (perfect) 915fd.
By the way, does a 2cm long dent on my crown (dropped a wedge on it, toe-middle-front) affect performance? The rest of the club is 9.5/10 condition.

I hit 265 yards pretty straight swinging normally without adding any speed/force, etc. And i didn't hit 100% center face. This Stealth 3W is a bomber! Ventus Red 5R shaft.

I still have an RBZ stage 2, 3 wood and 5 wood. I experience the same phenomenon and they sound great. I only carry a driver for margin of error on contact.

Agreed that the manufacturers should be more demanding of the kinds of tests. Unfortunately this also requires a little bit of educating the audience, and it's not clear anybody but Mark is actually trying to do that.

The real stealth.. I tested the Sim 2 and will test the stealth however my issue is that they almost go too far.. I game a Cobra Rad speed as (for me) it’s the most consistent fairway wood on the market as far as dispersion front to back is concerned. I hit it around 245/250 and don’t want that rogue shot that suddenly flies 260 (which is what I was getting with Sim 2) great test Bruh 👍👍

    It's easy. Taylormade Marketing 101...
TM send its clubs to anyone with a hint of a following to do a "review." These personalities need these test clubs because their viewers demand instant reviews and will watch whoever can provide that fix. View count goes up, incentivizing them to participate in that process as early and often as possible.
If they give a negative review, they lose participation in the early review program (AKA they get "Crossfielded Out"). If that happens, viewers drop off and they lose income. Therefore, they will only ever give positive reviews (and I acknowledge that TM products are genuinely good most of the time). The personalities are beholden to the marketing beast that is Taylormade golf.
The scientific validity of the testing or the accuracy of the results don't matter at all because the reviewers are inherently biased towards the products because their success hinges on participating in the Taylormade review process. Taylormade has successfully filtered out the negative reviews, reducing its need for any testing standards. They care about the marketing, not the testing process.
