I used to watch trains down at the Durratt-Sheppard Company parking lot, which was beside the entrance-exit tracks of CSX Bayview Yard. Got a lot of photos there. Then they sold the company, and the new owners blocked off the lot and put up a fence between the tracks and the lot. When I worked at the Sunpapers down on Calvert St in the 1980s, they had tracks that ran to the building along Gorsuch St where trains would deliver huge rolls of newsprint to the loading dock.
Using "modelers license", you could add a chase scene around the coal delivery area and Sparrows Point like in "Enemy of The State". You may need to add a few larger locos and such, but it would be doable. Or even more modern, the big Amazon facility alongside the tracks near the yard.
I’ve never watched “Enemy of the State.” Now you have my curiosity piqued. I’ll have to check it out. I wish those Amazon warehouses had rail service, but they do not, so that would be _real_ modeler’s license. 🙂
@@ThePixelDepotLLC I think you'll be able to easily recognize the areas you model. Give it a look, but buy the movie, because you'll probably be able to use it as planning reference material.
Thank you so much. I’ve actually scaled it back from what I originally thought I’d do. The track plan page that is linked in the description goes through the iterations.
Cuzzin Vinny suggested your channel last night in a shout out. Thought I would check you out and I find things very interesting. Like what I see very much. Really like your locations since I live just north of Baltimore. Will be checking out more of your videos and watching your progress
Vinny sent me your channel..I'm glad he did because this is going to be an awesome layout! Love the track plan with lots of switching and very well thought out plan. Thanks for sharing
