Amazingly beautiful, the relationship between the father and son is a stressful one. The father is most likely trying to live vicariously through his son, forcing him to try for a professional spot when all the son wants to do is enjoy the ride. The anxiety is real, even I felt it in that moment before he ran away. And I like the ending, where the son breaks free and zooms off with the wind in his hair. The father needs to realize he cannot make his son do what he doesn’t want to.
Who else thinks the helmet is a symbol for his father having control over him? He has it on almost all the time, except at the end when he's on his own, and he broke free from his job. Even at 1:52, he sees his friend riding freely, who is without a helmet, and envies him. Those are my thoughts
I noticed that too, and it's my one gripe with this video. The helmet is what's keeping you somewhat safe while on the road, that friend of his isn't doing a particularly smart 'free' thing there.
So much TENSION, between the character, so many different EMOTION, and BEAUTIFUL designs... One of my favourite short from the 2018 promo. I love the ending, the vibes, 💥Booooom Gobelins, you made it again. This one should not be missed 🏍
I read an article on, "Narcissistic Parenting." Essentially living your own aspirations and dreams through the life of your children. Making them succeed where you failed. Obviously doesn't create the best relationship. This film really exemplified the effect it can have on a kid.
Bref, visuellement excellent.
Yes! So relatable! Sometimes you just wanna do something you’re good at because you like it but when your parent control it and shape it the way they want, it’s becomes pressure-filled and no longer yours. Even if it’s scary to defy your parents, it’s what’s best for your you.
Whoah ! Juste whoah !!
And is it her wife next to him ? I mean before she died ? I can't remember, let's check her face again Edit : Ah, not at all, ignore me haha, plus their son was only a baby when she died shit
I have no idea what they are saying but I get a great sense of story and the relationship between the characters. That goes to show how well this short is animated
;) Bravo.
honestly, he really didn’t have to drop the race. i mean i understand the pressure, but his dad worked hard to train him. i thought that was an asshole move to just leave like that.
Did anyone notice a grave by the road when the son left? I guess he had died, but his father can’t let him go. That’s why when he realizes the son isn’t there he gets sad, not angry.
What terrible shame on a father to bring ruin on a son's passion. Good on him to still keep with motorbikes after this. I would like to think he still went on to get recruited by a works team later on with his father, but I probably know better.
The son is gay but the father didn't know that, or at least tried to ignore or not to believe in that. He was always showing and "training" the son to be like him, straight. The son kept hiding the truth from his father telling him he was "going out" with his friend. But at the end the son revealed that he wasn't like his father. Then the father realised that it was true and he couldn't change that in his son.

Wow ur beautiful r so wonderful

A piece of shit named Rebecca. Your name 😂 I love it. Also yes that’s what I thought too.

I love how, when he breaths, the whole helmet changes shape. Very cool!
Very beautiful. Very atmospheric and emotional. At the beginning I could smell the rain and the mud. Beautiful work.
Freedom is more important than momentary glories. This animation is beautiful!
the timing and the visual design are beautifully made, i cried of how beautiful this animation is WOW
4:26 yakuza dad and his son
Oo and he found someone ♥️
@@sirferrell6142 we want yakuza dad 2
oh yeah nice
And is it her wife next to him ? I mean before she died ? I can't remember, let's check her face again
Edit : Ah, not at all, ignore me haha, plus their son was only a baby when she died shit
Now I have to look for cameos in all the other Gobelins videos!
He rode to his own race, a race to his freedom
This was wonderful; great work! The lighting and emotions is so powerful!
this is giving me MMMAAADD iron giant vibes
Donald Reignoux !
Well, I felt it as a breath of freedom in the ending
super cool and smooth animation, I like it
I have no idea what they are saying but I get a great sense of story and the relationship between the characters. That goes to show how well this short is animated
You can turn on english subtitles lol
WHAT :O
How are there not more views on this? Its AMAZING
These animations are absolutely beautiful hat of to ye!
I love the character designs
Ahh, good old gobelins. Truly beautiful, gorgeous animation and disgusting, although nicely told, story.
C'EST BEAU.
Donald Reignoux 😍
Just amazing!
Getting major Mars (manga, live action show, ect) vibes from this.
Très-bien! Je suis d'accord avec la mensage.
beautiful film!!!
is perfect!
Bravo !
Excellent ! Beautiful art work and story line! Congrats!
Such a refreshing ending

I feel like a bird!
C'est mon préféré.
génial!
Just Wonderful...
I want more of this..
Anyone else convinced the son was going to die during the competition in order for be father to learn his lesson?
honestly, he really didn’t have to drop the race. i mean i understand the pressure, but his dad worked hard to train him. i thought that was an asshole move to just leave like that.
Well he never wanted to do it, and was never given the option to say no. The training was useless from the start
The place beyond the pines?
I'd like to cross to! Interestly, do any of your guys ride the cross?🤔 Oh yeah, sure, nice work gies! Wery nice!👏👏
Did anyone notice a grave by the road when the son left? I guess he had died, but his father can’t let him go. That’s why when he realizes the son isn’t there he gets sad, not angry.
The little yellow and white stone on the right corner? Nah, its a milestone, very common on old roads especially in the south of France
Quite nice
Moral of the story - Do you!
This gave me a panic attack, and I don't know whether that's good or bot

Just goes to show, if you want to destroy someone's passion, then force it onto them
I love the song at the end and in the credits, but I don’t know the name of it or if I can listen to it on its own. Does anyone else know?
otimo!
I would have left a long time ago
wow did you use a 3D software for the bikes?
Need English subtitles
i feel so bad for the dad though
His dad looks like the evil professor from big hero 6
Good story but not challenging. It's nice when viewed presently but forgettable.
Props to the animators tho. I know it's hard.
And then he joined MotoGP
*Creed (motorcycle edition)*
Strange film
👏👏👏👏👏🙏
3:53 i understand « al kahida »?

um noooooo
Not every conflict has to be based on the LGBT theme. In this one, the relationships between the father and the son are shown, strongly and deeply.
@ArianaGrande ❤
Heyyy
I need the moral value , ...
B..but his dad :'(
And then his dad threw him out
More like: he killed him right then and there.
Anyone know the song from 4:33 ?
the soundtrack is available on arthurdairaine.bandcamp.com :)
