That's a HD I could imagine myself buying. Such a beautiful bike, and what a sound! Love the snark it makes when you shift and let go of the throttle. This is Arnold's bike for sure. Impressed with the fact that you ride bare handed when there's still snow outside, looks cold as hell.
tryarunm lmfao.... actually harley had efi on the 90s bikes that had the thump the thump has no effect on sound....... like 0 effect its the cam lope that makes the THUMP
Actually, by thump I meant sound - quality and volume. You thought I meant rhythm? Not at all. I've ridden bikes and scooters as primary transport for 28 years - and a Harley for the last 2.5 - so that's the terminology I use.
Carbureted bikes is all I ride so good rule of thumb : if the head cover is getting warm and fins warm, the engine has warmed up enough and you don't need the choke.
I have a 1999, EVO Fatboy. I had the carb rebuilt and I just love this bike. The suspension isnt that great, it isnt that fast but there is just something about this bike that no other bike has.
Fat Boys are some of the more favorite Harleys I like. I think the Heritage classics, Road Kings and Fat Boys are their best looking Harley Davidsons. That's coming from a Victory motorcycle fan. Almost traded my classic car for a 1994 Fat Boy.
Biggest mistake ever made in this Harley life was selling my 94 Flstf. Currently have a 16 Fatboy, great bike, power, ease of maintenance, but love the old carburetors.
WOW thats amazing. I have a 2002 Fat Boy thats covered in chrome with special paint job .I get out on it as much as I can .But as u say even to just look at it makes my day.
@@John-ob7dh I just dream of that day when I get my licence and take my fatboy on the road. I changed oil today and did some slow riding in a garage. Boy its so heavy for me but I like it that way. I tried honda 400 few days ago with instructor and now i know for sure HD is my choice.
I like the Fatboy it is simple like my old Harley,s I had 45 years ago. No gloves man you are tougher than me but I live in the deep south I don't do cold well. Carburetor bikes do run good in the cold.
Interesting, as an occasional biker an complete Terminator 2 fan, going by the sound of this video, and the sound FX of the bike in the movie, they used the actual bike sounds. Cool. :-D
I had a 1995 fat boy almost just like that. I loved that bike. Watching this video makes me sick that I sold it. (Also, the colder the weather is better these things run).
Dude you really should give give that thing at least until it idles without the choke...I mean plenty of people don't but its a good idea trust me I'm a mechanic
Okay, it has to do with the fact that most wear/damage done on an engine during use happens when the motor is still cold. This is because as the motor warms up to operating temp the metal pistons actually expand (How much it expands depends n whether it's a cast or forged piston) SO when the motor is cold the piston can slide back and forth a few thousandths of inch more than normal (Called piston slap) Riding it, and increasing the rpm's while it is cold makes the back and forth play that much more aggressive. I hope that's generally what you were looking for. At the end of the day you are not going to drastically mess anything from doing it once or twice or even five times but if you ride a bike 50,000 miles and do not let one warm up ever, and the other with the same miles was warmed up every time i would bet that the motor that gets warmed up will be in much better condition. Didn't mean to sound harsh I just love those old 80 CI Harley's and love to see them keep going well past 50K miles!
Just picked up a low mileage (27767) one owner 98 FLSTF I am liking it. I have only had one fuel injected Harley my 01 FLHRCI it worked pretty but I know more about carburetors.

If you like Harleys we have an annual Harley Davidson race, it's not really a race, it's more like a couple of days were something like 50.000 Harley Davidson riders meet to exhibit their bikes and to hang out with other harley owners. Having had the chance of riding on the back seat of a fatboy harley ... omg do I want to own one myself someday. It's not just the look really. To me it's also the feeling. Really cool, I like it. Unfortunately it is too expensive for a student like myself, but I'll be saving my money for it. Maybe in one or two years I'll be getting into motorcycles :). Have you ever had an accident if I may ask? Do you feel comfortable on the bike? I prossume it's similar to start learning to ride a bicycle.
