I received my CP99 just days ago and I’m quite happy to report it’s awesome! No question, it’s my new go to pistol. Everything Andy said about this pistol is accurate. It fits perfectly in my hand and the grip is rather comfortable. When it fires it feels like a small caliber real steel pistol! It’s the smallest of my pistols but the biggest in attitude! Yes, it’s a keeper. Thank you Andy and Mrs AAR and the rest of the crew. Looking forward to Friday. Your friend in Phoenix, Rudy
Hello, and thanks for the video, that only yesterday I found. I own one. 177 Umarex Walther P-99 Compact since from 12 years ago, and bought in second hand. No problems so far, thank God, because I do not know how to disassemble it and where to buy its parts from. I do not like the stick magazine, and CO2 separated compartment, but it worked very well... Thanks for showing this replica and thanks for being here, and explain so well.
A standard that can’t be beat. Thank you Andy and Mrs AAR. It’s ironic that I purchased this pistol just yesterday. Thank goodness it’s a favorable review! As always, your friend in Phoenix. Rudy
Good video as always andy. I loved it all until we got to the stick mag. I personally love a weighty magazine with the co2 and ammo in the same unit. Inserting the magazine, feeling its weight sliding upwards and clicking home and then rackin the slide straight away in one fluid action is part of the whole shooting experience i find, and a stick mag doesnt give me that. All the best from lancashire.
Most of the Umarex air pistols are actually KWA/KWC airsoft pistols that have been converted which is why they are so realistic in looks, materials and operation such as trigger weight and pull etc... I dissed airsoft guns for years until I actually bought a VFC (Umarex) H&K 416C gas blowback tanker SBR with full auto, I've been hooked ever since. And with now a collection of nearly 100 guns a good 80% are full metal gas blowback airsoft guns, pistols, submachine guns, automatic rifles, full auto shotguns and gas pump action ones, LMG's, and my favourites..sniper rifles, I've spent a fortune on those lol. I am a collector, builder and tinkerer who likes relaxed target shooting and plinking so I'm not after trophies, hunting or even airsoft gaming but I still love these and recommend any doubters give the gas full metal ones a go and not be put off by the polymer electric ones (although those can actually be some of the best performing for the sport of airsoft hence their popularity).
I had this Walther a long while ago and had several issues. It may have been from leaving still charged ( full / half full ) co2 cartridges, in the bb gun for weeks at a time. Which I now know will ruin just about any co2 air gun, but none the less. It developed leaks at the valve seal and throughout the gun. However the other issue, which is now concerning me because I was unaware that this gun was made by Umerex. An have just recent purchase the Umerex Glock 17 gen 4, which is another blow back air gun by Umerex that seemed to have awesome reviews. Although I did see complaints about all these same issues. Is that the slide catch mechanism / lever, is made extremely shallow and is angled. Instead of having a straight notch, which caused it to wear down very quickly. An after wearing ever so slightly, the slide would no longer catch or hold back. The metal on the Glock 17 gen 4 send even thinner or weaker, an I can definitely see this happening. For 150 to 200$ air guns, that's absolutely ridiculous. I'm hoping that I can possibly shave the notch deeper, an will try it on my broken Walther. Since I still have it lying around, an an also curious about disassembling this gun (Walther CP99 ). If there's a way to purchase new valve seal that can be replaced, perhaps I can resurrect the gun.
Good morning ANDY , whot a wonderful solid pistol .... it has some fab features . the stick mag with hold back and hole is brill . blow back and hold open is great . Theres nothing i can see to dis like , it is brill in every way . i own its big brother , but i will defo be putting this on my next to buy list . Fantastic presentaion Andy and Mrs AAR . thank you for your hard work ..... Cheers SIMON from York England *****
Could do with the CO2 being part of the magazine like with some airsoft pistols. That way you can sequentially shoot magazines while avoiding the cooling effect.
I’m sorry to hear that Peter. It’s my biggest fear to receive something faulty. It’s a pain shipping things back. Do you intend to try another or replace it with something different? Either way, best of luck!
@@rudy1917 Im not sure at the moment . but the gun is being sent back as its not upto standard . Im really really disappointed tbh , i was looking forward to this the most (and the M1 Carbine - also being returned ) out of all the ones i have recently purchased . The M1 Carbine has a real bad magazine that broke as soon as i pulled the spring back to load it . The spring popped out of the BB loading hole straight away and got twisted up . Shame as it a nice rifle otherwise . Good luck with your CP-99 compact...the guns feels great in the hand and looks fantastic .
Has Umarex recently revised this one? This one did seem even a bit better than these being most of the times.. One of my very first BB pistols I bought. Sworn never to buy another one - unless being the Recon model. On mine the slide is thin - and wobbled around. Loose slide spring and slide catch-release lever spring; sloppy action. The small screw on the top became loose - finally stripped the extremely small and short threads totally. The co2 cartridge seal often leaks on this model. The bottom twist knob sometimes can prevent smooth insertion/exctraction of the stickmagazine if the knob is not turned just right. If the follower accidentally shoots up to the top without BBs being in it - the follower is prone to go into two bits (I recommend to get a pack of spare mags for it while buying this pistol - just in case).. And finally: one of the weakest BB shootinh pistols I ever have bought... But this is now of course my personal copy of the Walther CP99 Compact that I am referring to. Maybe Umarex upgraded it yet again? (The first model had no cut-out in the slide). But yet again a very nice and classy review of it by Andy ant the crew! Makes my Friday coffee break - every time.😊👍

Interestingly enough green laser light shows better in steam, etc than red.they use green lasers for pointing out stars and planets and they pick up on the moisture in the air and you can see the beam but red ,blue, etc are hard to see except where they hit the target.
I've had one for years...It's good fun, but I hate the safety. It's so stiff to operate. I like a safety that clicks on and off positively, like the best ever safety on the Colt 1911.
Hey Andy! Great Vid...Question,Where did you get the Laser? Looks like an aftermarket. The one that people used for this model has been discontinued...Give me a Link Sir! Good Day to you.

Let's say you have £200 to spend on your first replica blow-back air pistol. You have limited cash and although you'd love it to be the start of a collection, it's more than likely going to be on it's own. Is the glock 17 gen 4 still topping the charts as the best buy?
