I just bought the GMW B5000D-1. The Silver version on July 2nd 2024. I have had several gshocks in my time. 6 actually but only 3 favorites. The GST S100, the GGB100 Mudmaster, and now this watch. It is my daily driver now to replace my GST S100 because it's got everything under the sun outside of a compass, barometer, altimeter, thermometer, and step counter BUT if I need those features I would just put on my GGB100. This full metal gshock is perfect. You can dress it up and down. It looks perfect. It is my first square. I have always gotten the analog/digital gshocks so when I first received it took me a few days to get used to looking at the time...lol.

Ooo lovely pick up. Rose gold/bronze never misses in my opinion! I really love the links on this band as with the other full metal renditions as well. Great to see Watch Shop sponsoring the channel too! Awesome stuff 😎

    Big fan of these.
You can’t go wrong with a full metal square.
I started out with the silver one, then added the black, the silver on rubber band, (sold)and finally the wine red stunner, which belongs to my wife. She adores it.

Just got my GMW-B5000RD-4 today and I'll be sending it back tomorrow. I don't like the negative display.

Really? The GMW-B5000RD-4 doesn't have a negative display.

I wish all the full metal squares had sapphire crystals. Seems only the titanium ones do.

Hey Sir timp drop. Do you know how long will it take for the watch the charge? Sunny no clouds?

From a flat battery, about two weeks of all day exposure to get the battery to 100%. That might seem excessive but a day will get the battery from flat to 20% so that all the functions work. Three days will get the battery to about half charge. After that, the charge rate tails off and it takes longer to get the charge up towards 100%. These times are for mid latitudes. Closer to the Equator, maybe just 3/4 days to get to full charge. Mid winter in the UK through a window, definitely a couple of weeks, or more. A full battery will allow the watch to run for 19 months with power save enabled and no further exposure to light. Keep the watch regularly exposed to light and the battery will last for decades before needing replacement. The battery is not a standard lithium watch battery either but a rather exotic mix of chemicals that act more like a capacitor than a battery.

He said this watch doesn’t take itself too seriously. As if the watch has feelings 😂. Na I understand what he’s sayin

I have the black and I'm not the biggest fan of it. It's a good watch but just not worth $600. Stuff like Bluetooth probably won't ever be used after initial setup, I do like that I can give custom names for different time zones which I have labeled for where my friends live, and radio has almost never worked to set time. My biggest negative is probably the difficult to read negative display, even though it's better than the cheaper negative displays. And then another major flaw is the finishes, same as this one, I hate how the metal finishes are different on the bezel, band, and module, it makes it feel cheap to me. If you can get the matte versions, I'd do that. Also I'm just not a fan of the weight, it's a bit too much, and it's mostly in the module, feels off balance, I've thought about swapping away from the metal band but I'm worried it would be more off balance, and I think it would make it look cheaper. If you're on a budget or on the fence, just get a cheaper one, and if you want the features get the newer module one with different display and notifications. But if money is nothing to you, it is stylish.

I'm not happy with 3459 movement based watches. I measured one and lost about 6 seconds a day. That is about 70 ppm which is a shame in 2022 and in a 600 USD watch. Today you can have a tiny 3ppm, temperature compensated RTC module for 1-2 USD in volume. I measured one 3461/GW-B5000 based watch too and that was even worst with 8 secs.
Bluetooth doesn't help much because a common phone has the same problem unless you are on Wifi and daily sync the watch. DCF77 works only near the window in my area. So the watch doesn't really maintain the time in reasonable precision without regular human interaction.
Older watches without Bluetooth were much better like 3461/GM-5610U and my trusty LCW-M100T.
Somebody lost his mind @ Casio.
I think it is much better a deal to get a GM-M5610U and buy a steel or titanium case mod on ali express.

Casio state the accuracy without time reception as being plus or minus 15 seconds per month. This assumes you are wearing the watch, so it is kept at a relatively constant temperature. If you have a watch that is gaining or losing 6 seconds a day then you are quite entitled to return it to Casio for repair or replacement in accordance with the guarantee included with every watch. My personal experience is a drift of less than a second over 3 or 4 days when not worn or time corrected by radio signal or Bluetooth. Incidentally, phone times are extremely accurate and governed by atomic clocks that set up network timing. If the time is wrong, nothing works on the network. Software processing delays can result in a watch being set by Bluetooth being about a tenth of a second slow. It is possible to use time servers that compensate for that delay and ensure any watches or clocks are precisely correct.

@@michaelkaliski7651 Hi, thanks your response ! I must indeed correct my above assessment. The watch itself is ok if I disable BT and just relay on its xtall or DCF. I was confused by the BT function which keeps syncing to my phone. My phone, which is Samsung s22, has terrible internal precision if i'm not connected always to internet.
All together BT doesn't really help in any ways unless you are always connected, which I'm not.
I returned this iron beast and kept my M5610 with ali express titanium mod. And keep myself conscious about finite precision and have the watch sleep in window once a week.

You are aware that it automatically adjusts via Bluetooth when you leave the app open?
You don’t have to do anything , fully automatic.
And what importance does accuracy have on a MB6 watch?
      Zero importance.
