My only suggestion as a 20+ year electrician, use a 3 wire insulated cord, like a drop cord or SO cord, and make the joints in the light fixture. Ground wires are quite important. Or cut out and get a pan cake light box and frame out 1/2” bigger spot in the back so it’ll set flush in the wood.

@Kelvin Nguyen This is for a queen size bed. And as for building one for your California King mattress you would have to pretty much increase width and length of the headboard, bed frame that the mattress will sit on, and the base that the frame will sit on to give that floating effect. Unfortunately I won’t be able to give you detailed measurements for that type of bed because I’ve only built one for a queen size bed. Thanks!
Hi this is a great build. What are the measurements of the original base? I heard you said you didn't use the 10" Also anyone have the measurements of the 1x6x7? I saw 2x4x6 64, 2x4x7 80.5, 1x4x6 67, 2x10x6 66, 1x6x6 59. What are the measurements from the night stand and wood size used? If I missed anything please let me know. I watched the videos numerous times.
I've read it in the comments, she wrote that below soe comment asking the same question in the first video : "the measurements (1x6x6 and 1x6x7) represents the "lip" of the frame. This is displayed @8:29 of the video. As for the base, it measures 63 inches by 39 inches. Lastly, the bed size is a queen. I hope I answered your questions."

@819 Moni’s Woodshop The headboard is very strong because we braced it in the front @3:50 and we braced it in the back @4:55. Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel!
@Confide Ratana that is a great question. To be honest you don’t really need to study anything to become an interior decorator or builder. I do not have a degree, it’s just a passion of mines. I love to build things, decorate, and do DIY projects. Most of my inspiration comes from watching RUclips videos or looking on Pinterest and then I research on how to do certain things for that particular project. Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel!😊🙏🏾
@Thank you for your comment! I will definitely place those wires in a junction box. I will also do another video properly showing how to placed the wires in one. Thank you again for your comment and suggestion and also subscribing to my channel!😊
@Prateek Nayek Thanks for being so patient with me. To answer your question the headboard panels measure 37 inches wide and 23 and 3/4 long. The nightstands measure 24 inches long by 10 1/2 inches high by 9 inches in depth. I hope that helps in assisting you in your build. Thanks again for helping to build the channel 😊
@819 Moni's Woodshop to answer your question, the headboard panels are 37 inches wide and 23 and 3/4 inches long. I space them out one inch apart. I hope I've answered your question. Thanks again for your interest in my channel 🙂.
Thank you for this! Really looking closely at this for our build. Could you tell me, what was the 1 x 2 x 6 red oak wood used for? I've watched both videos and didn't catch what it was used for.
@Ashley Ray thanks for reaching out, sorry for the delay. To answer your questions, the 1x2x6 Red Oak was used to connect the two pieces of ply wood together to form the three sections of the headboard @9:28 (in video part 1). Also for the "lip" measurements, I do realize that I did not capture those measurements on film, my apologies. However, they are 59 inches for the front lip and 82.5 inches for the sides respectively. FYI: Keep in mind those measurements referenced above are for a Queen size bed. If your bed differs in size adjustments to the measurements will need to be made. Thanks again for reaching out and for helping the channel grow by subscribing and contributing with your comments 😀
@Brashad Empire you can definitely do one for a king bed. I would just modify the measurements used in this video to fit a king bed. Thanks for your comment and subscribing to my channel!🙏🏾😊
@Zamarii Horton the nightstands measures 2 feet long, 10 1/2 inches high and 9 inches deep. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for subscribing and for contributing to my channel by commenting 😊
@HxodrichXO unfortunately we are not in the business of selling or building beds for others. This video is just a DIY video showcasing what we built for our home. Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel.
@Samarjai thanks for reaching out. The bed materials it's self cost $238.70. However, the lights we purchased cost an additional $538.00 which brought the cost just shy of $800 dollars. I hope that clears up any confusion the video may have caused. Thanks again for reaching out and for helping the channel grow by subscribing!😊

Also anyone have the measurements of the 1x6x7? I saw 2x4x6 64, 2x4x7 80.5, 1x4x6 67, 2x10x6 66, 1x6x6 59. What are the measurements from the night stand and wood size used? If I missed anything please let me know. I watched the videos numerous times.
I've read it in the comments, she wrote that below soe comment asking the same question in the first video : "the measurements (1x6x6 and 1x6x7) represents the "lip" of the frame. This is displayed
@8:29 of the video.
As for the base, it measures 63 inches by 39 inches.
Lastly, the bed size is a queen. I hope I answered your questions."
Nicely done. How wide are the 3 pieces used for the headboard?
@Rohan Williams The headboard panels measure 37 inches wide and 23 and 3/4 long. Thank you for your comment and contributing to the growth of my channel by subscribing!😊🙏🏾
@@MooreDecor thanks you very much. Keep up the good work.

Is this beginner friendly I wanna try it out but I’ve never even picked up a drill before 🥴
@Jamira Rodgers this is definitely beginner friendly as my husband and I are no professional builders. We just did a lot of research on how to use certain tools. Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel!😊🙏🏾

That’s an amazing bed. How strong is the head board? Does it move?
@819 Moni’s Woodshop The headboard is very strong because we braced it in the front @3:50 and we braced it in the back @4:55. Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel!
What do you have to study in order to do this kind of work?
@Confide Ratana that is a great question. To be honest you don’t really need to study anything to become an interior decorator or builder. I do not have a degree, it’s just a passion of mines. I love to build things, decorate, and do DIY projects. Most of my inspiration comes from watching RUclips videos or looking on Pinterest and then I research on how to do certain things for that particular project.
Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel!😊🙏🏾
Great build only 1 note the connection of the light wires should be in a box for safety not just loose behind the headboard.
@Thank you for your comment! I will definitely place those wires in a junction box. I will also do another video properly showing how to placed the wires in one. Thank you again for your comment and suggestion and also subscribing to my channel!😊
What type of wood did you use for the frame?
@DripsVAL The framing wood we used was your standard 2x4's made from a soft wood called spruce.
Hope that helps 🙏
@@MooreDecor thanks
can you tell me the dimension of the bed
@Prateek Nayek Thanks for being so patient with me. To answer your question the headboard panels measure 37 inches wide and 23 and 3/4 long. The nightstands measure 24 inches long by 10 1/2 inches high by 9 inches in depth.
I hope that helps in assisting you in your build.
Thanks again for helping to build the channel 😊
What size mattress is used in the video?
@Tyler Garner the mattress used in this video is a queen size. Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel!😊

Can you give the material list and measurements?
@Kevin Crawford I will work on getting that to you. Thanks!
@@MooreDecor thank you...... My wife loves that setup
Hi. Idk if you said it on the voice over or not. I want to know the Dimension of the headboard. I am building Similar bed like yours. Thanks.
@819 Moni's Woodshop to answer your question, the headboard panels are 37 inches wide and 23 and 3/4 inches long. I space them out one inch apart.
I hope I've answered your question.
Thanks again for your interest in my channel 🙂.
Pls let me know if you can give me a cut list of head boards and the night stands pls
@Raul De Leon I will work on getting that cut list for you. Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel! 🙏🏾😊
Thank you for this! Really looking closely at this for our build. Could you tell me, what was the 1 x 2 x 6 red oak wood used for? I've watched both videos and didn't catch what it was used for.
Also, we're your 1 x 6 measurements for the lip?
I want do one for a king bed
@Brashad Empire you can definitely do one for a king bed. I would just modify the measurements used in this video to fit a king bed. Thanks for your comment and subscribing to my channel!🙏🏾😊
what were the measurements for the night stands
@Zamarii Horton the nightstands measures 2 feet long, 10 1/2 inches high and 9 inches deep.
I hope that answers your question.

How much for a bed?
@HxodrichXO unfortunately we are not in the business of selling or building beds for others. This video is just a DIY video showcasing what we built for our home. Thank you for your comment and subscribing to my channel.
How much did it cost? I head u say $238 but then I heard you say it came shy of $800
@Samarjai thanks for reaching out. The bed materials it's self cost $238.70. However, the lights we purchased cost an additional $538.00 which brought the cost just shy of $800 dollars.
I hope that clears up any confusion the video may have caused.
