So comedy yes is subjective, but you can tell from this 25 minute special that this guy has relied on his frat boy friends telling him he's funny rather than bounce off material from many different types of audiences. He Clearly has like 2 joke setups and their not too well thought out. It's essentially like a bunch of crypto frat bros sat in a living room were like " yo brenden, your like so funny brooo, you should do standup for the pod bro".

Sense of humor is subjective but there is a craft to stand-up that really separates the greatest comedians from the rest. A great comedian can tell a joke about something you find really offensive but you still recognize it was a great joke or even make you laugh.
It drives me absolutely insane that the line is always “the other day”. It takes me out of what ever they’re about to say IMMEDIATELY. If anything, they should say “happened to me recently” or “happened to me a while ago”. Way more natural and at least somewhat more believable

I work at a comedy club and I remember when Brendan Schaub came through for a weekend to do some shows, and as someone who sees a lot of comedians, he’s not funny. The max capacity in our showroom is 400 seats, the highest number of people that came to any of his 6 shows was 143. To put things into perspective, Noel Miller also stopped by for a weekend. Expectations weren’t super high, but Noel was pretty good considering this was his first standup tour. He had two sold out shows that weekend.
It's strange that he's in Texas talking at Texans, about Mexicans and Latino culture. They've heard his takes all their lives. They live among Tex-Mexicans. Wouldn't it have been better to do this show about Mexicans to an audience where it may seem a bit fresh? Like Milwaukee or Toronto. After watching this special multiple times. I think I can now safely say I understand the thought process of the "nacho joke". Brendan says, to paraphase "Oh this guy that just said 'dicey-dicey'. I bet he thinks his body is a temple. He also walks funny. He probably thinks that vaccinations will make him unhealthy!". He then continues the joke with "But this guy is fat. He probably eats unhealthy food like cheesey nachos. He probably also looks stupid doing it. His body isn't a temple, he's a hypocrit." He then continues that joke with "His cognitive dissonance is in fact so great that I will start calling him Mr.Wholefoods, a place known to sell vegetables. He probably has never been there. Ha-ha!" He then continues that comment with "I give up dude. There's no talking you straight." It's understandable this is hard to comprehend. The soundcloud rapper levels of mumbling. This special reminds me of the other day when my Lamborghini had a flat tire. I pulled over on the highway with cars zooming past doing at least 250 mph to change the tire. While I’m changing it, I kid you not, a clown car pulls behind me and 15 clowns get out with tools and a jack to help me out. They were actually mimes so they just pretended to have tools and do things helpful. And then all of a sudden one attacked me so I axe kicked him in the head and jumped in my Ferrari and sped away. I think the best example of pacing and repetition in comedy is in John Mulaney's college bit where he's talking about his school requesting money from him. He calculates how much he spent a year, going back to the beginning with each new calculation, and then yells at the end. I think it's amazing
It really feels like Schaub wants to live in a sitcom where he's the fun, wacky dad instead of a failed fighter turned failed comedian holding onto his Rogan cred for dear life. Though it's also possible that he's brain damaged enough to actually believe some of this stuff.

when i was 7, my dog bit through my bottom lip somehow and i needed two stitches- i didn't even react until they brought out the needle, and even then i was fine after it happened 😭 he's a coward in every sense of the word

I got I think 4 stitches with a quick swipe of some kind of local anesthetic when I was young by my eye and didn't even feel it. And I'm a wimp, I hate pain and discomfort - no tattoos and thought ear piercings hurt (lobe). I'm not sure he needed a syringe for his anesthetic either? I guess it may depend on the injury. I don't think he's a wimp, I think he's a liar and just doesn't know how these things work or how painful they actually are.

The normal backdrop for the Addison Improv is just a standard comedy club (faux) brick wall. They had no part in the terrible skyline backdrop. The backdrop was made specifically for this special by Brendan’s team. In some of the promos leading up to the special he talks about having “his backdrop guy” design and build something specifically for the special.

So comedy yes is subjective, but you can tell from this 25 minute special that this guy has relied on his frat boy friends telling him he's funny rather than bounce off material from many different types of audiences. I work at a comedy club and I remember when Brendan Schaub came through for a weekend to do some shows, and as someone who sees a lot of comedians, he’s not funny. The max capacity in our showroom is 400 seats, the highest number of people that came to any of his 6 shows was 143.
To put things into perspective, Noel Miller also stopped by for a weekend. Expectations weren’t super high, but Noel was pretty good considering this was his first standup tour. He had two sold out shows that weekend.

After watching this special multiple times. I think I can now safely say I understand the thought process of the "nacho joke".
Brendan says, to paraphase "Oh this guy that just said 'dicey-dicey'. I bet he thinks his body is a temple. He also walks funny. He probably thinks that vaccinations will make him unhealthy!".

This special reminds me of the other day when my Lamborghini had a flat tire. I pulled over on the highway with cars zooming past doing at least 250 mph to change the tire. While I’m changing it, I kid you not, a clown car pulls behind me and 15 clowns get out with tools and a jack to help me out. They were actually mimes so they just pretended to have tools and do things helpful. And then all of a sudden one attacked me so I axe kicked him in the head and jumped in my Ferrari and sped away.

The normal backdrop for the Addison Improv is just a standard comedy club (faux) brick wall. They had no part in the terrible skyline backdrop.
The backdrop was made specifically for this special by Brendan’s team. In some of the promos leading up to the special he talks about having “his backdrop guy” design and build something specifically for the special.
He definitely is the kind of guy that thinks that loud equals funny

She has interviews online you could have used footage from lol she talks about her childhood. Her mother speaks perfect English lol

Specifically, that one Weekend Update bit where Keenan Thompson would play a Latino baseball player and say Spanish words in a funny voice. He's not just making an unfunny joke, he's stealing a joke and making it worse.
I didn't even realize that Krispy Kreme joke made no sense until you pointed it out, my brain was just numb and I was blankly staring at my monitor as the special played. Dude couldn't even get his joke out correctly.
Also going from the high production value of his first special to filming in a basement for his second special is embarrassing. I would rather just film over ZOOM to viewers at that point.
The most hilarious thing about that comedy special is how repetitive the canned laughs are.
