    Just saying THANKS for being one of the few on RUclips to get your point across without take 10 minutes. I swear people must get paid more for long winded DIY information videos

      Thank you! And yes you’re correct, longer videos can have more ads which equals more $

    Thank you very very much for doing this the right way! There are some videos out there that just glue cane onto the cabinet board and call it good. You explained everything nice and simple.

    Can I soak the rattan overnight in cold water? My carpenter soaked it in cold water for half and hour and installed it on my cabinet door and it isn’t tight at all 😢

    Does it matter which side of the cane you use? One side feels waxed but I like the color of the unwaxed side

    White insert of my kitchen cabinet does not pop out so I would have to cut that with a jigsaw?

    Hiiii. I have an odd but super important question. I’m building cabinet doors with rattan on the inside. We soaked the rattan as suggested but then only stapled 1/2 of it to the cabinet before I ran out of staples. It’s almost midnight so I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to get more. Do you think there’s any way for me to salvage the work I’ve already done or do I have to try to remove all the staples and start over again? I put two long pieces if craft pine inside the length of the frame to try and keep the rattan taut and in the general shape as it dries overnight. Thanks!!

      I'm not sure what you ended up doing, but I would absolutely take the time to remove the staples, make sure you have everything you need to finish this step of the project, then start fresh! Hope you have a great day!

    Hi, I have a cabinet with a gentle curved front that I've considered swapping out with caning. The front was originally glass and replaced with plexiglass at some point by some grandparents which now has a chunk missing right at the center. The frame is all wood. I've seen some curved caning cabinets online but no how-to's. Is it feasible to use came sheeting on a curved frame or do you think it would warp as the caning dried?

    You let your damp caning get on the table saw top-?

    How do you rout the insets in the door to staple the cane to?

    • @rangerbaynworkshop
      @rangerbaynworkshop Год назад

      Before you put the four pieces of the door together, you can take one long piece (or multipl pieces) and make a rabbet with a router, or take a table saw and make two corner cuts. Cheers!
