- Arriving at the OBGYN for our very much anticipated 12 Week follow up appointment. We are hoping to confirm that the early baby gender detection test was accurate (SneekPeek test we did at home), and we are having at least 1 boy. We are also hoping to get the blood test results confirming BOTH genders, whether they are Fraternal or Identical twins, and most importantly that both babies are neurologically and physically healthy! All our questions get answered with this appointment 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️

I have 2 girls and they never showed their bits during any ultrasounds and I had tons of ultrasounds due to me having epilepsy and lupus. My niece had identical boy twins 2 1/2 years ago
Hope all goes well! I also see a MFM and he said you shouldn’t get NIPT testing before 13 weeks (actually recommended closer to 14 at least) as anything before that can really give you wonky results (like where you think something is wrong but everything is fine). We did the SneakPeek again for this baby. We weren’t supposed to even have the dad or any males in the room when doing it, needing to complete it on a surface you can ensure all male DNA is removed from, etc. to not accidentally contaminate results. I hope everything goes well! Glad that they’re looking so good!

So excited for you! I'm currently 31 weeks with my identical, mono di twin girls. It has been hard but it's getting very tough to be this big, and I'm not a little person. Here's to hoping we make it to 34 weeks (according to my dr, that's "full term" with my type of twins) with healthy babies and mommas!!

@jamieotisanddoughehner I am an identical twin. It has always been my understanding identical only come from same sack, 1 egg that split. Fraternal are 2 sacks, can be 2 same sex or one of each. Now, I am not a dr....so there could something I don't understand or got wrong. Either way, can't wait for gender reveal #2. Love watching y'all. Have been since MAFS, season 1. Excited for y'all.
Identical, or monozygotic, twins may or may not share the same amniotic sac, depending on how early the single fertilized egg divides into 2.

Skull theory would suggest two boys. Boy skulls have a pronounced forehead in a square shape and pronounced cheeks. Gurl skulls are super round.

I obsessed over thr nub at my 12 week ultrasound and swear it looked like a parallel/girl nub, and it turned out to be a boy. Also, I agree that it would be very hard to tell on ultrasound with any confidence if a baby was suspected to be a girl. At my 2nd baby'd 15 week scan the aono tech asked if I wanted to know gender and said boy (she was right), but she said if she suspected girl even at that point/15 weeks she wouldnt be super confident...only if it was a boy. 🤷

Lol i did the sneak peek test too & i had one hell of a time lol 😅 i also lived in a house full of males so i was scared it would get contaminated, but it was CORRECT & said i was having a GIRL, which i did 😊 excited 4 ur gender reveal! ❤

Yay! Every appointment I'm breathing with you! Maybe cuz the nurse in me does stop, you know how it is Jamie! Is the high risk doc delivering you, or your regular OB? I'd think your OB would defer to the high risk OB bc of twins AND AMA. (I don't feel you're really 'advanced maternal age'. You look AMAZING, and women have kids much later & older these days.

I have boy/girl twins. I’m going with the same for you! So. Much. Fun.
If they share a placenta, they will be identical so if the doctor says there’s one placenta, then you automatically know my twins shared the placenta then it started to separate but fuse back together, so I have identical twins, but sometimes you can see the little differences like teeny tiny difference like an AirTag one has one and one has the start of a growing up one placenta no matter how many facts because that’s a myth my twins each had their own sack then I had a sack surrounding them and I thought because they were in their own sack they would be fraternal. I was informed by the OB/GYN that that is false people think it know it’s the placenta so best of luck can’t wait to see the second reveal. I’m excited for you guys. It’s gonna be so much fun.

Mono twins are always identical then they will both be boys. They don’t seem to know their twins are identical. I think that is odd.

Ok….identical pregnancy is higher risk and they would have told you! Twin to twin transfusion and more! So I’m assuming they have are di di twins…di di can be identical but not very often….my daughter has twin girls….
Not true, they are mono-di twins, they share placenta but different amniotic sacs, can tell in the photo she’s showing where you see them both in one shot
I just looked at the ultrasound and they are clearly di di twins. The print out was two separate pictures put together….earlier pictures showed a major division between the babies

Ok, this is driving me crazy because twin parents would know….but look back at the video of trip to the high risk doctor…at exactly 3:51 they show the ultrasound and it is clearly di di twins….
