Today is a monumental day in Team Fortress history. We have been waiting for 7 long years.. but.. it is here. Comic 7, The Days Have Worn Away, is finally, finally here...
I love that this is the first time he's doing a TF2 Cover, and the first thing he chose is Rocket Jump Waltz. A real tribute to Rick May even after 3 years since his passing, God rest his soul. Glad you're finally doing TF2 covers though, this is most unexpected. Can't wait to *Meet The InstrumentManiac.*
I saw a comment about Rick May that went like this, "If people die when they are forgotten, then Rick May was right, we're gonna live forever" Still gets my soul tearing up every time I remember it.
That’s the magic of Luke Pickman’s covers. Just when you think the cover is over, he manages to beautifully extended the piece in a way that feels like it was a part of an original longer version of the piece (Most of the time)
@@andreylovekakish-mashulyaBecause of how welcome of a surprise it is, and the fact it's probably their first video. It's always worth a mention for how much it adds to the experience
Whenever I think of Soldier tribute videos, that's the one that comes to mind: with Soldier rocket jumping into the sky. Such a wonderful tribute it was...
This is the sort of thing I love to see in a cover. Not a 1:1 copy, but also not a completely different thing, rather an interpretation of the original work. Great cover.
Rick May might have passed in this universe, but he will live on in our hearts, our thoughts, our words, and most importantly, in the universe of Team Fortress 2, immortalized as his rocket jumping, bread teleporting, war loving counterpart that we know and love dearly as Soldier, the man voiced by a legend.
I love how under every video/ cover is rocket jump waltz, there is an outpouring of support and remembrance of Rick May. I love this community and I'm so glad to be a part of it
@@paterson90 I always thought this too. I wonder if its 2 jokes mixed into one. Like a drill sergeant about to punish someone for speaking out of line.
"And I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do, pal, cuz he invented it. Then he perfected it so no living man could best him in the ring of honor."
Comic 7 finally released today. After reading it, I came here cause it felt like an appropriate end credits song...how dare this ridiculous game make me emotional 😭
With the ending of the comic, I'll have two reasons to return to this video every year. This is such a beautiful work of art, it's rich and full with all the instruments. Keep up the great work. It's the perfect song to honor Rick May and TF2 as a whole.
I love the Rocket Jump Waltz...it brings a warm feel to my heart, especially something like this. Simple start, but it becomes more grandeur throughout, more like Rick May himself. Rocket Jump your way to the stars and beyond Rick. Rest In Peace.
Out of all the songs from TF2, this one has just become so much more iconic to TF2 as time has gone on. All thanks to a legend we never should have lost the way we did. RIP Rick May. May your Rocket Jumps take you to the stars and beyond. Fun fact, did you know Rick May also was the voice of Peppy Hare and Andros in Star Fox 64? Dude really was an iconic legendary voice actor. "DO A BARREL ROLL!"
I refuse to believe that this man has the time available to learn a billion instruments to a good proficiency while still working out enough to achieve that impressive upper body. God forbid he's able to cook and pay the bills too. I am quivering in my boots for fear of the power this man might possess
« And then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor ! Then, he took two of every animal on earth, and he herded them onto a boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one ! »
