Me again. Really enjoyed this video Dave. It is such a beautiful designed automotive feat. Have a lot of questions but will let google answer them for me. Again thanks for the video. Maybe Sunday. Take care D/E🏎🏍️
When the weather turns nice, you will have to come over or we have to meet up. The gravel on the roads is what I am avoiding lol. I hope you are having a great start to your new year.
@@JDMMerch Awesome! The main thing is you are going to have to do all the maintenance on your 12C. The oil changes, air filters, spark plugs, DCT fluids, coolant hose clamps. You will need a lift, or you can use flat jacks like I do which is fine. If you ask anyone to work on it, they will not know how or they will charge you triple what they would anyone else. The dealer is thousands of dollars for simple stuff.
@@DriversTherapy Ok, never mind. I thought they can be taken off easily. If you risk damaging anything that can only be replaced by the manufacturer, don't do it. When looking at how high OEM nsx parts prices are, I don't wan't to imagine the cost of replacing McLaren OEM parts.
Two different cars for sure. I do not know the cost but unless the car was abused, most of these DCT clutches are fine. I can tell you the 12C is a master piece to drive but just make sure to buy smart and do all your due diligence. McLaren parts and service is not cheap but most of the work can be done by the owner which is cool.
Hey man! I love Porsche but I am so excited about the McLaren. Driving it blows the GT4 out of the water on so many levels. This car is truly amazing. At an original MSRP of $250,000 dollars, the engineering and quality is there. That I can tell by working on it already. It is definitely an intricate car.
*** Do not open or remove coolant cap when the engine is hot. Serious injury may occur. ***
That is one of the most intense informative videos to dates to date. Tons of info great job!
Thank you for watching, Jim. 🙂 it is definitely an interesting and complicated car but nice to work on.

Nice GTR and NSX. I’ve been looking at a lot of MP4 12C’s as a replacement for my R35.
@@JDMMerch thank you! Are you mechanically savvy?
@ I’m not ASE certified like you but I work on all cars. Came from similar jdm car stuff like you.

Thanks for the info. I'm still debating on this car lol. it is a supercar and things will be expensive to fix. still thinking about it.
Hi, do you work on your own cars?
@@DriversTherapy I know my way around cars for basic maintenance but nothing big like engine rebuilds.
I think the engine bay may look cooler without the covers.
I’ve thought about that. For real lol
@@DriversTherapy If you like the look, just do it. XD You can always put it on later anyways.
@@markusluftner8418 they are hard to take out lol. I had to wiggle and push it out and stuff was making noises no one wants to hear lol
