    A one year old Porsche Turbo S sounds like a fast, reliable supercar, that's not going to lose too much and still is a fully practical day-to-day driver.

    • @guggyp
      @guggyp Год назад +11

      It depends which one you get and when. Some lose 50% of their value and Porsche has been pushing $200,000 911 Turbos for a decade but they lose way too much value new. But if you can get it at the bottom of the depreciation curve you can find a decent bargain.
      Exactly why I buy GT3s
      I don’t know if I’d buy one only one year old. Maybe a 5 year old car

    Enjoyed the video, as I do with all your content. But, with mainstream cars (pre-Covid) 45-50% depreciation was par for the course in the first three years. That’s what PCP GFVs were based on. So the numbers are painful here because of the values, but the depreciation numbers are just “normal”?

    I bought my Vantage for £116,000. It was a year old with 1,500 miles on it. It has every option you can get so I would guess the list price was £155-160k. I’d expect the car to be worth about £95k after three years. It comes with 3 years warranty and 5 years servicing so running costs are minimal.
    I don’t understand why you guys are so down on what is a stunning car. Everywhere I go people come over and comment on how beautiful it is. It’s also a joy to drive. I can’t think of anything I’d rather be driving (maybe a Ferrari 812 GTS, but certainly not any Porsche or McLaren) Worth every penny to me so far. I am in love.

This has always been the issue with the 720 more than anything else, very few owners paid list. So actually depreciation not that bad unless you paid full price which is very rare. Hence why I mentioned that specifically in the parameters section - did you not notice.

    Aventador prices will crash hard once its successor comes out in meaningful numbers in about two years. What we have seen in past few years has been in many ways outlier anyway. Too many people with way too much money they do not know what to do with it. At same time production numbers for practically all supercar models has been much larger than ever before. Combination which can't last forever. There will be lots of owners which will get burned since they bought at peak market with huge markups on already too high list prices.
