Chanel Kennedy just like you I got (EXACTLY) the same goosebumps today as I did way back then when I recorded it for the first time it was broadcast that evening on my Hitachi VHS recorder way back in October 2005 as it originally aired!! 🥰 (MY BROTHERS WERE BACK!!!!!!!!) 😍 First time I saw Grant in exactly six years since previously seeing him way back in October 1999 when he was by the Thames with Phil when they were both escaping the gangsters which episode I also recorded on video tape in my VHS too which (I ABSOLUTELY LOVED!!!!!!!!) To hear Grant say, “Allo mum!” to his matriarch mum Peggy Mitchell played by the (LEGENDARY) (Barbara Windsor) was (ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!……..) ♥️ Iconic!!…. 👏🏽
Giuseppe Lombardi I had the same goosebumps as you and Chanel did seeing Phil and Grant again which was (EXACTLY) the same goosebumps you and I got when seeing Dirty Den return to the Square for the first time way back in September 2003 since I last saw him by the river way, way back in February 1989!! I recorded Den’s return to EastEnders at the time it was aired on video in my VHS recorder as well to record this historic soap moment too!! 😍 To see and hear him say “Allo Princess!” to Sharon again after fourteen years of not seeing him or hearing him on Albert Square at all again in between that time was incredible…. 🥰 Iconic!…. 👏🏽

@@jaykaria4776 your right my friend i totally agree with you i stopped watching after the end of 2015 and perhaps jan 2016 they bring in new characters to replace legends, it just dosent make sense.
Gary, yeah. There’s no consistency anymore in my opinion. They literally bring in new people for about 6 months for example, leave and then new people come in. Whereas back in the good old days, it was epic to watch.

Always gives me goosebumps. They 2 lines were the most iconic lines in eastenders history. Hello mum. X the sigh from Peggy she knew then all would be okay. X and the way grant (ross kemp) always looked at her, could see the real love between them both. She was always begging him to come back. Eventually he gave in to her. Phil and grant were the true eastenders x

That 2016 return was so forgettable and pathetic. The producers sucked that year
Grant should have smashed those 4 boys heads in that kidnapped Ben and there was no villain on the square at the time, however it would have been nice to see a feud between him and mick or Vincent
Could have been brill. But instead of focusing on the unfinished business with Phil, and Sharon, they instead decided to focus on a hastily written reunion with secret son storyline. Which all ended up being poorly acted, and ultimately pointless. Shame.
Couldn't agree more, In 99 Grant and Phil take on Kim brooks and his mob armed with a shotgun 30 grand in cash and get chased through London by half the met, In 2016 The writers get Grant to chase 4 16 year olds armed with a phone each and a bottle of Fanta shouting come on then, How times have changed, The writers no longer exist and the show is an absolute joke
Only if Grant return to help his brother Phil in 2003 against Den Watts & Dennis Rickman & also Peggy & Den Watts finally having a confrontation.

Watched this episode in a bar in Lanzarote. When Phil and Grant turned up the whole place erupted.
@Issac C it was an English pub that showed all the soaps. It was along the strip. I think it was called the Gary Linekar bar but it's a while now and afraid old age is catching up on me. Back then I was fit and felt great. Now when I look in the mirror I see Rab C Nesbitt staring back at me.😀😀

We had this on in the tv room at HMS Collingwood; place was packed and going mental when Phil & Grant showed up

Billy is funny though, but I just love Grant! He's so mean and moody with a big soft side.
Espc when it come to protecting his family ' but he used to be a lot more violent and unstable for the first few years he was in the show.
