Dirty Den was and still is the greatest British soap character of all time. A always loved watching him he was an absolute legend. R.I.P. Leslie Grantham he was a great actor. 😢💔✝️
I can't stop watching this. This is the best thing I've seen on EastEnders since Kat's revelation to Zoe that she's her mum. WLIW in New York City is about 7 and a half years behind and this was a shocker!!!

this is so unexpected i would love to write for the eastenders storylines i have been watching these since i was 8(a little young i know but i knew what it was about and everything haha!)
It wasn't den watts that got shot from the pistol hidden in the bunch of flowers, the guy And the girl who were holding the flowers were dens ticket out of the country. One of them two ended up in the lake and then the firm ghosted den out. Put him on a jumbo jet and sneaked him out of the country. The firm told him to play dead for 14 years. Dens perfectly capable of doing that.
This was a huge mistake. If anyone deserved to be back from the dead via Witness Protection, it was Cindy Beale, not this guy (who was only effective for being teamed with the brilliant Anita Dobson in the 80s).
@Messylin I agree. It was a big mistake since he didn't do much when he came back. I mean yeah, he did frame Phil for robbery after he slapped Sharon, but the stuff he did afterward was lightweight compared to the stuff he pulled off way back when.

Den's return was a sort of twist to the characters in the soap but not to us watching it.

Den didn't take the bullet and go in the lake, someone else made the splash and the people that were after den who were called the firm quickly got den out of the country on a jumbo jet.
The way she pulls herself up with her hand in the toilet bowl and then drinks water from the same hand… 😷🤢🤮🥴
he had supposedly drowned the first time he died, but it was fake and now hes back from the dead. ah, good old british television.

hmm vicky lost her american accent in the space of 2 weeks
For the first time in about eight years I decided to watch this soap yesterday Christmas day 2013, I just wanted to see Danny dyer take over the Queen Vic.
And in that one episode I remembered why I stopped watching it, Very poor scripts, wooden acting, Phil Mitchell still using Ian Beale as his puppet, Phil Mitchell still using Billy to do his dirty work, Kat and Alfie still ....being Jessie Wallace and Shane Ritchie, Charlie Brooks playing a neurotic psycho, The Jackson family being the Jackson family, the only thing missing last night was Bianca shouting RickYYYYYYYY.
This show has done entirely the opposite of what Julia Smith wanted, she would never have stood for the show to be broadcast the way it is now.
Julia had characters that were three dimensional, she knew how the people of the EastEnd talked, she knew how they would react to certain situations, and she certainly knew that the true eastenders know how to throw a Christmas party.
If the B.B.C Isn't careful this show will go the same way as Eldorado, they need a full clear-out of writers, Directors and cast.

Vicki Fowler (Scarlett Alice Johnson) was so much more beautiful than the woman who plays Sharon (Letitia Dean). Scarlett has a beautiful round baby face with delicate features. It's quite sad how Dennis always favoured Sharon, anything could have happened to Vicki and he wouldn't have cared.
