I think it would be a fun project to take the internal parts of something like this out and build a smaller case just big enough to fit everything.

Rearrange-redesign the switches in a sense so we don't have to use those discs discs anymore, instead just press a button and go through the menus like that. 1-2-3 on one switch and then just shuffle. All packed into a tiny box that you can keep in your drawer next to your TV. When someone's kids come over you can offer them to play these 'classics' XD
It's funny how much more work they put into the design of the case than the actual internal chipset.
I had one of these and played it for a fair bit until one of the controllers started to fail. It's really annoying that they went for a completely different connector for them too, as you would have to hunt around for another one of these things or spare controllers :/ very nice review 👍
I have a boxed one. It's been on top of my wardrobe for about 15 years. Can't believe they're still being made. Even the box is still the same 😮

A lot of the weird plug and play devices have always been bad. It can be bad emulation, cheap plastic, bad controllers and D-pad, or even bad shell design for the console. It is a way for small Chinese companirs to do a cash grabbing. Now of days it seemed they moved on to TV sticks, handhelds and even android boxes and the quality still shows that they make them to be cash grabs.
Sometimes they drop some good shit tho

That Start button has had a serious prolapse... Such a high-quality product.
The fuse soldered to the board was a first for me. I've never seen that before in a plug and play.
Omg I got one of these as a kid from my uncle at christmas, I remember a few of the games like the top down driving one you showed in the video, a kung fu one which I think was just kung fu for the NES and a F1 game which I think was an excite bike re-skin because I remember the car always over heating for holding the button down for too long.

Looks like a "christmas stocking stuffer" when it comes to the shear amount of plastic for those tiny chips with 100 kilobytes of storage on them.

This console keeps your food fresher. Store lunch meat and hamburger patties inside.
Shame about the d pad though. It looks like 4 separate buttons, like a switch joycon. Not good for fighting games. And those "select" and "start" buttons are really tall.
Also, it's great when a video can tell you just by looking at and hearing the face buttons how bad they are. I can instantly feel the crappiness of them all the way from California.

It practically works the same as that old fisher price record player, except those were all the same discs with grooves to push the buttons down or not where as this has different sized discs but.. i digress. Wouldve been cooler though 7 different discs.

the disc is just a cardboard that acts like a jumper, pressing button (4:42)
SO by removing the case and replacing the 3 disk buttons with switches this device could have been WAY smaller.

i have a dvd player that comes with 2 really bad nes controllers and a dvd with all the nes games but funny thing is other than the controllers and not saving games run good.
The "disc" design in this instance is based on an old "record player"-style child's toy from the late 80's or early 90's. Hilarious.

I did once try plugging a GameCube controller into an N-Joypad console and it didn't work. I haven't tried the reverse, but I imagine it also wouldn't work?
I damaged the N-Joypad when putting in into the GameCube's control deck.

I always wondered why there was never a third party bootleg that made a console that could run snes/Genesis and PSX considering there were many Genesis/NES bootleg that could run both consoles games... Not good quality probably but it was there and actually kinda worked as a fast choice for people that just want one console on the tv
There was and there is. Also not sure why you compare NES / Genesis with PlayStation1 era. Those are generations apart and PS1 basically a much more complex system. Either way there are bootleg systems made that run all the mentioned from a SSD card. You will often find these in online China shops or inrl if you dig around and ask shops. Some sell these without even realizing they are breaking the law XD
Also they are dirt cheap compared to some other 'premium' brands that offer even less.
This is why many were angry and complained for those official mini NES, Sega and mini PS1 from some years ago, it barely ran any games and had issues plus was around 100 euros. You could buy a single console for 20-30 euros that ran all and much more systems much better and any game you put on your SSD to load in.
If it wasn't so strange I would say throw it right in the rubbish bin. Did this thing actually trick anyone to believe they were playing optical discs?

@@WickedGamerCollector yeah that's true, but the PCB has a fuse soldered on it. Seems pretty pointless for running on batteries. Maybe the PCB is from another machine that powers from an adapter and they just plonked that board on this and called it a day

Some of your latest videos are weird like the parts were rendered in the wrong order. Anyway, this disc system is much more funny than the 3 or 4-way switch on the back of some 2600-clones :) The most interesting thing was that the name of the games in the list matched the game itself. Sometimes you start "jumping man" and you get an ordinary Super Mario or "Shooting soldier" will be Contra.

the outside part is cool and all that, but am going to say this, if china truely want to take the gaming market they can if they wanted too. everytime I see things like this I just wonder why they keep making them and just don't make a whole group to make a knock off system with good games and do what one cookie company thing and no longer become the knock off but a main brand for everyone to enjoy
