Not hear for Cole’s passive aggressive energy. He already told is his valid reasons for backing out in April, so now there’s nothing more to say. Saying he got his friend’s “blood on his shirt” is melodramatic. He didn’t even fight! If the beef is beneath him he needs to leave that subject alone.
Passive Aggressive. Not Ali like at all. Dope song lyrically but he is using that I am peace and above it all as a crutch for something he put in the atmosphere. He shouldn't have touched the topic and just said they both are my boys. But he threw more shots. Contradicted himself again.. is it Ghandi or Ali
Because he knows it wasnt right. Kendrick had to jump drake. Schoolboy q told j cole to fall back cuz its gonna get messy. But cole didn't tell his boy drake any of this, thats the only reason why cole was fake. Not ali like at all because ali only fought fair fights. This wasn't a fair fight, one sided the whole time and drake still held his own.
This narrative that Cole chose peace is crazy. He had plenty of time to not record or at least not release the diss. He chose the smoke and then backed out before Kendrick gave him a proper response. He made that diss track a key part of his promo run for his album- Might delete later. Even with Drake losing the battle, at least he went back and forth with Kendrick. Cole chickened out.

exactly lol! They're making it seem like fake beef is the only way to prove you are better. Yet, I bet if Cole engaged in it and won, they still wouldn't say he's better lol.
It comes from Battle Culture. Rap is the only genre that has a sport like competition when it comes to composition of words to show who’s the best. Every Genre has competition who can sell the most and most awards but with Hip/Hop and rap it’s always been who’s penmanship, style, wordplay, and impact resonated most with listeners and battlers.

I don’t think people are writing Cole off. I think it has to do with the amazing run he had last year where he was assassinating everybody’s favorite rapper on their own song. It’s like he climbed the Mortal Kombat tower, defeating every opponent with a flawless victory and fatality, only to get to Goro and Shao Kahn (or Shang Tsung), starting the first round, and then unplugging the console. He built up all this momentum and praise, only to fall back right when the heavyweight championship was at hand. I totally get why he did what he did, but it was a misstep overall, from releasing 7 Minute Drill to apologizing and backing down, none of it was a particularly good look for him (probably not the “Fall Off” he was teasing). It’s funny, last year I was saying Drake could benefit from taking a break from music for a bit after FATD was released, but I never would’ve thought I’d be saying that Cole may also benefit from one just a year later. That beef really changed the landscape of rap in ways we’re still trying to comprehend.

The only real redemption Cole can find is by returning to the style of his Friday Night Lights days, where every bar was a raw display of skill-where he was in spirit of the best, whether trying to prove his the best. How does that benefit Kendrick? Especially if I told y’all he’s gonna lie and this is why… and then later in the SAME song says “we ain’t gotta get personal, this a friendly fade you should keep it that way” ALSO years ago on a breakfast club interview he already address the rumors of someone claiming he put hands on a woman (not necessarily Whitney)… You want Kendrick to get defensive so he can sound as stupid as drake does in the heart part 6 and that’s just not gonna happen. Of course Budden thinks that. He released a weirdo tribute song to Eminem and some overly emotional rant when he was dissed, and wouldnt answer with a track. Even after people like Remy called him a pussy.

Passive Aggressive. Not Ali like at all. Dope song lyrically but he is using that I am peace and above it all as a crutch for something he put in the atmosphere.

He let people know for what he stands for : peace. Peace with himself, peace with others and just send love within the world. So that s it.

Degrees don’t mean shit . Kendrick has shown more in his career and how he’s handled it which is why he outsells Cole while still making conscious music . He’s more intelligent if we go by the results
If Kendrick was the goat like y'all is saying..why ain't he diss Cole even though Cole chose not to . Even Kendrick knows the pressure Cole brings to the game Thats why he ain't say shit bout Cole
You cant be serious kendrick called out cole and drake cole responded and apologized for his response and deleted his track😭 i fw j cole but if we being honest we have more evidence of j cole not wanting with Kendrick than the other way around like why would he respond if the nigga is literally crying apologizing on stage😭 that’s straight bullying and all j cole fans would be on kendrick neck for responding
This is exactly why pride cometh before the fall. This is why 2Pac is laying 6 feet under. Cole knows what his pen can do! He also knew what a savage Kendrick was and that to King is was going to take getting personal and getting others hit with collateral damage...he wasn't going to do that and we all knew from jump he wasn't about that life. Respect to Cole for not putting his pride before his peace of mind.
Much respect to Cole 🫡
Kendrick and Drake beef was Bloodsport, fight to the death etc. J. Cole only wants to compete in a controlled environment, like MMA or Boxing. I'm cool with that. People want the blood spray though.
Keep coping. He scared. He can drop a Friendly competition diss right now but he won’t. Cause he know he gone get cooked.
@@ImConfidence Before all this that was likely possible, but wasn't necessary. In the aftermath, this doesn't seem realistic. Kendrick is dope, his delivery always unique. However, bar for bar, Cole got him easily. Bars aren't everything, I admit that. Just noting "cooked" doesn't apply with these 2.
@@iant4281 did you not hear Black Friday?
@@ImConfidence absolutely heard it. How long ago was that project. I think J. Cole has grown much more than he was then. I can't really say I see much of a difference in Kendrick then and now though, but that's not a knock. I would love for them both to hop on a record right now like Black Friday, except with the same beat.
J. Cole is the adult in the room. For me he’s the better rapper than both Kendrick and Drake. J. Cole is the GOAT of this generation to me.
J Cole throws rocks and backtracks both towards drake and Kenny he the fake friend
He never threw rocks at nobody. Wtf are you talking about?
@@SoulOfTheSouth first person shooter, 7 min drill even hated on the younger generation and backtracked on yachty podcast saying himself he was a hater
@@SoulOfTheSouth just cause you say sorry don’t mean u didn’t take the shot
Lol
@@yimmyrich Ya’ll are reaching with this. First Person Shooter wasn’t a diss to Kendrick. Why just because he said me, Cole and Drake are the Big 3? “Love when they argue the hardest MC
Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?
We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali” There’s nothing wrong with having confidence with yourself. Every MC should feel like that. The steppers line to me wasn’t a Kendrick diss. Idk people hear stuff different i guess.
The only real redemption Cole can find is by returning to the style of his Friday Night Lights days, where every bar was a raw display of skill-where he was in spirit of the best, whether trying to prove his the best. Friday Night Lights felt like a clear, poetic letter, straight from the heart, full of both joy and pain. There was no attempt to please the industry, no forced humility, no pretense of being an average guy just riding a bike. It was purely authentic, driven by his passion for the craft.
Cole was never the best
We all actually don't know this folks what if J. Cole Knows Kendrick's secret. J. Cole has been sneak dissing Kendrick about lying in his music. I don’t know that's my opinion.
Mmm. Interesting.
I think the Kendrick/Cole beef is brewing now. I think Kendrick may have had enough of all the subs from Cole now. FR
Yes Cole did say "your arms may be too short to box with a God, who lives his life without the pressure of a constant facade". Seven Minute Drill really showed Cole's internal insecurities and jealousy. You just don't say something like that randomly, he had to have felt that way.
This one take on hip hop literally shows us where we are mentally in society....Its sad there are so many immature and closed minded people in the world. Repspect to J COLE for being the bigger man. I wish Biggie and Tupac could have done the same.
Lmao Joe literally said he respected Cole’s decision to back up and let Kendrick go at it with the intended target. Btw Cole NEVER APOLOGIZED!! He called up Kendrick to figure out what the deal was and learned it had nothing to do with him! For y’all to talk so much shit about nobody’s rapping anymore but bitch when you’re getting consistent bars I just don’t get it. I’m sure The Fall Off will have a cohesive story with multiple styles of songs on it to be a great album.
He literally apologized at his dream-fest
Cole apologized on stage live at Dreamfest after Q told him he was getting a free pass to back out. He literally apologized to Kendrick.
You’re right. The Fall Off HAS been consistent so far 👌
Bruh… I am the biggest Budden fan. Thx for this.. and don’t let immature peeps fuel this. Tuck tail? What are we in HS? It’s a business. I argued about that Some Love Lost album… that spit was sick… but many disagreed with me. I still think it’s ya finest. Point is you move how you move when you ready to move! J Cole.. your turn to move how you wanna move. RESPECT!
J Fold can still rap.
Sure. He just can't ever implicit or explicitly compare to anyone ever since he ducks worse than Uvalde cops.
@@marcelosilva9429Oooh shit..
That wasn’t a debate though.
That was a great line...... I'm stealing it 😂😂😂
The way they keep saying Kendrick won is INSANE
WE DON’T THINK KENDRICK WON. He didn’t say or address anything drake said. Plus drake songs was bangers
Yes he did, he literally shot all that nonsense down in euphoria when he said “fabricating stories on the family front cause you heard Mr Morale” why would I address the lies of a liar? How does that benefit Kendrick? Especially if I told y’all he’s gonna lie and this is why… and then later in the SAME song says “we ain’t gotta get personal, this a friendly fade you should keep it that way” ALSO years ago on a breakfast club interview he already address the rumors of someone claiming he put hands on a woman (not necessarily Whitney)…
You want Kendrick to get defensive so he can sound as stupid as drake does in the heart part 6 and that’s just not gonna happen.
Some of y’all just don’t have the attention span to comprehend anything in long forum. You can’t put the pieces together to make the puzzle make sense 🤣
I admired Cole for dropping out at first. In hindsight, it was a genius move. But I don’t want to hear bragging about how he’s the best anymore. He had a chance to prove it to the world, and chose not to.
So beef proves you're the best? Fake beef at that, with someone you have no animosity towards? Is that what you are saying?
@@fryeguy115 Do me a favor and reword this question. I don’t understand what you’re asking.
@@BudJr are you saying that beef is the only way to prove that he's better?
Tell me! how does cole being in that beef make any sense? You have 2 people who genuinely don’t like each other (Drake and Kendrick), then you have Cole who is friends with both of them. In what world does it make sense for Cole to participate in that when he has no animosity towards either rapper?
@@Thajoker_252 well then he shouldnt have dropped 7 minute drill then if the beef didnt make sense
Despite any mistakes Cole may have made during this beef, I can understand not participating in order to keep either of them as friends.
Of course Budden thinks that.
He released a weirdo tribute song to Eminem and some overly emotional rant when he was dissed, and wouldnt answer with a track.
Even after people like Remy called him a pussy.
I still like J Cole. I am a "casual" fan.
So the best in hip hop is who beefs with who and wins a rap battle meant the best? wtf are y’all smoking. The best is who can jump on a track and out spit the next person. Doper verse. wtf is the rap battle shit determining the best? Cole has been on track after track and out spit a lot mfers
@@stephonhopkins4569 yall been coping since April. get some rest
What about albums? That's why he'll never be the best forget the disses
@@user-tl9eu5ge3d cole has solid albums. But they are speaking like cole can’t talk about being a beat or dopest lyricist because he didn’t battle lol if they wanted to talk about quality of albums it’s a debate but they are saying he can’t talk that talk about being the dopest Mc
People don't want to admit that JColes is even better than Kenny just because he didnt want to beef. He can still brag him self on tracks, i will love it. You know he brags him self better than your favourite rappers. So, without beefing and getttin into all toxic and unhealthy things, he is smoking yall. Give him his flowers and stop putting ur frustrations under his amazing ability to rap
I've heard mans even since first mixtape. He's never been as surgical as Kendrick and that's a FACTO
Cole still him grown adults mad another man choose peace
No..he let Nas down! Battle and go out swinging not apologizing for spiting your truth on your own album. Kendrick and TDE is special but one in hip hop is above a challenge
I do think Cole and and Dot can have that "battle" moment if it came around (e.g. like that Black Friday mix). It's true when Kendrick said Drake did Cole foul by by bringing him into their long personal beef. Drake is now saying no one is his friend and Cole probably feels bad for him. However, Cole should have never painted a picture saying there was a big 3 with Drake and Dot. That song will stain his rap legacy forever.
Wasn't Joe just screaming and yelling how j Cole is soft😂😂😂😂😂
That was after this bruh. That Clio didn't come out yet.
I think like a lot of us, we are starting to get tired of Cole keeping talking out of both sides of his neck. FR. But it is what it is.
bro all the bravado battle rap stuff is still legitimate in my eyes.. he'll smoke whoever gets on a song with him. I think to him that's the real competition and he will smoke whomever. like he said name somebody whos rapping this incredibly???
That whole I don't rock with Cole after this is some young kid shit I expect somebody in their 20s to feel that way but everybody over 30 should have the emotional maturity and life experience to recognize why he did what he did.
@@psme3 he really got yall fooled, if he was so mature why was he sneak dissing all throughout his feature run? Why was he the first one to drop a diss?.... YOUR FAVORITE RAPPER IS A COWARD
Tbh, the current narrative about Cole and how he's now viewed is the perfect setup for The Fall Off album finally.
I’ve been a hip hop fan since 1985 and I’m done with Cole his lyrics are alright but there’s no next level for him. He will never be a goat for real.
Cole will always be the goat. I love his mindset. He is just for peace. People can t understand that, seriously I think it s crazy. With more persons with a mindset like him in the world, wars would never start.
Cole just didn't want to get personal. That's it. I think he saw that Kendrick and Drake geniunely didn't like each other...
🥊I thought the same thing until you realize something. Off all those rappers. J. Cole was the only one to stand up to Diddy like a man. He did it defending Kendrick Lamar all people.
So yes, J. Cole is a 🐐
I think rap culture is fairy tale, Cole is truly being a genuine human being, a real life one within rap culture
Exactly which ain't rap. It was built on poetry about your life.
I feel like the only way y’all will give cole his respect if he does a track with Kendrick and they go back and forth on some Busta Em shit fr, but understand he isn’t ducking smoke he doesn’t want the beef going towards how drake and Kendrick went at each other let alone how biggie and pac ended up
The falloff probably gonna sound dated as fuck at this point. Mf been talking bout it so long I would be surprised if it was a greatest hits album
All I’m waiting for from Cole is “The Fall Off”. I’m ready to hear what he’s gotta say on that album.
Forever be known as J Fold 😂
We love you Joe ❤️
“And all for what?, just to attain some props from strangers that ain’t got a clue to what I’m aiming for…”
Ain't no way him and kendrick would've ended up like that it would've been a friendly battle
If drake apologized and said you got it the world would eat him alive let’s not move the goalposts for Cole he is and should be looked at differently
Uh he's proving he can talk that GOAT talk...by continuing the GOAT bravado..ya'll poddin
I just don’t understand how even older ppl are too immature to understand where Cole not wanting to rap on a personal messy level has nothing to do wit his ability to still competitively bar anyone up? So be willin to fight dirty or stop fighting altogether? That’s some bs
we gotta stop supporting channel like this honestly. They switch up so much and don't have consistent stances. We take these folks opinions too seriously because they have a platform. Doesn't make them experts. Not like they can analyze lyrics better than you or I. Yea they may (or may not) have contacts or connections in the industry. But I doubt Cole or Dot is communicating with any of them. So on this topic, our opinions and views are just as informed as theirs.
It's because he apologized to Drake....that's why they are mad.
This isnt about the apology. Plus, he backed out before it even got personal (Drake took it there first). What was the point of Port Antonio when he already explained himself during the apology? Not to mention, it's hella WEIRD dropping that track a day after Drake crashed out on stage. Yall need to stop it.
good rap commentary. i agree with the take on Cole and features. where that new projec at ?
For me, I haven’t hit play on any of Cole shit since he tucked tail. Hip-Hop always been a competitive “sport”. For him to run from conflict was wack as heck to me.
It ain’t even being casual either, it’s about embracing the genre in its entirety.
Its not the end of the world. You acting his career is gonna die.
@@SoulOfTheSouth I didn’t say that. I just said MY feelings towards dude at the moment.
