Thank you so much for featuring my piece. Traveling in the Stans was an amazing experience. For all the people out there who think it's a dangerous area, I can assure you it's not! People are super friendly and hospitable. They like to talk to strangers & find out about the way we live etc. The nature and landscapes are amazing as well. I will go back one day for sure!
Amazing, thank you so much for the stunning footage and the exposure of the Stans to the West. You guys are sort of pioneers, the first ones that discover these amazing places and inspire others to visit them (including me).
Enormous landscape - Si isolated with thousand years of old culture. Quite exotic. My dream destination to visit Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Will be exiting to explore these cultures. Best wishes from Stockholm - Sweden
Angel B. yeahh this place is so beautiful the culture and everything else and they are so friendly I'm so proud to be related to them as a turkish human I hope I visit this place before I die
Who said it isn't attractive? Actually it is a very historical region, I mean, it's just like takes you away from the modern world at takes you back to the ancient times, not only those times, but it's just gives you some kind of isolation I mean good isolation, it just. cleans your mind. Also there are a lot of things to discover, not only the things I ve said. It's a very rich place, not only culturally but naturally 😊.
I've been in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. It is true that people are very nice and all those myth about their danger lies behind some incidents that happens to some people who comes to those countries unprepared. You must know the basics of the country you go to. Otherwise you can get yourself in trouble with locals.
On 2:36 The lady said "It is very poor". I disagree. She measures Central Asia through her "western prism of monetarism and scales of industrial development". Whereas Central Asians do not feel themselves poor.
Where is the voice of the people who live within the communities the National Geographic film crew focused on? This is a repeating pattern in short documentaries and documentaries alike.
Thanks John, but I'm embarrassed to say I meant to delete this comment and must have posted it by mistake. After reading it through I realised I was being unnecessarily nasty.
All the stans are safe to visit except Pakistan and Afghanistan. People dont go there because they have no clue what to do there and where the decent hotels are. Those are the mainstream tourist concerns. And most of us do know about those countries.

One of the most ancient people of the world is KYRGYZ.
People are scared of the unknown.
leave them alone...

Beautiful -- but please stop chasing animals with helicopters or drones or whatever is being used.
These videos are beautiful but they don't give u any information!
You haven't seen Kazakhstan yet. It's much more beautiful than other Asian countries.
