Funny how people call galangal “blue ginger”. The Chinese character representation is 南薑,literally meaning ‘south ginger’. I can’t verify this but galangal is a tropical plant so it grows in the southerly tropical regions, maybe that’s why it’s called that in the Chinese language While on this topic, the 4 most popular varieties of ginger used in this region are,the common ginger referred to as simply 薑,turmeric also known as 黃薑, translated to mean yellow ginger. Also, galangal or 南薑,and 沙薑,literally translated as sand ginger. They all belong to the same genus family but each has its own taste characteristics

They also have 1 outlet at bendemeer block 29 hawker centre just eat and tapao also last sunday taste traditional, especially the gravy, 😋
