- What's up everybody? This time I'm chiming in with my take on the top 5 worst figuarts as of March 2018! Keep in mind the criteria these picks were based on. And as always, let me know your thoughts down below!
So as a rule, I try to stay away from videos called "Top Worst" anything because I don't need to hear someone complaining needlessly. But you made good points and never came off as that whiny, entitled collector that everyone knows is out there online. While I disagree about Trunks and Vegeta, I do understand your points and can see why those issues would bother you. Good video, man.
I appreciate that! And thanks for commenting in a way where you explain your thoughts, I really value that over destructive criticism.
My only gripe is my Trunks figure, the strap is hard to keep in the scabbard, I actually have to use his hand to like, pull the sword closer to the body for it to stay put.
@@scorpionjacket3129 The strap's problem seem to be commun on the PC version. Its the same for mine and it sucks cause the original didn't have this issue. Its like just 1cm short to be attach comfortably :/

I dont think Pce vegeta is to bad, you can use Scouter 1.0 head's on him ;i use him with scouter head.
Well to be 100% fair the premium color super saiyan vegeta is supposed to be based on the manga not the anime and in the manga the hair is much more yellow than gold but I do understand that the color is totally off for the show
I can easily confirm that the first issue Super Saiyan 3 Goku was awful! I used to own the figure itself and in hand, you needed the stand to keep him from falling! It was an awkward figure! Glad I sold the thing! I plan on getting the new version, but it could be expensive these days!
The reissue is a lot better tho
Its a good thing for me that I got into dragon ball figures last year, so I never had the chance to get those bottom 5 guys lol

I just got my first figure of 2 I’m getting. I actually like them as figures since they’re not statues but then again, the Prices
You should check out the datong ssj3 1.0 version, that one is actually more color accurate
They keep using the super Saiyan 3 body and I am mad about it

2.0 scouter vegeta for number 5 for me although the mold is nice he is too tall, the paint leaves a lot to be desired and the accessories are less than the original release. Number 1 would be the 1.0 ss3 goku lol.

The original Trunks figure is one of my favorites and PC Trunks is one of my least favorites. Amazing what a different paint job can do
I picked up the trunks figure and I was super hyped for it and then when I got it I was severely disappointed. Ye with the colours and everything but also how easy to break his sheath/scabbard thingy was. The pin that goes into his back broke within 5 mins of me opening the figure because I was trying to take it off. Now this figure I paid so much for is now pretty much worthless because it’s broke

Dude that vageta is supposed reference to DBZ that one episode where he fight Android 16 look back at that episode and his clothing is like a light mustered and as well as his hair and that is just you other people like me actually like it it’s not bad at all so out of here
Before I start, Whis just so happens to be my favorite character from Super (alongside Beerus) and I REALLY want to get a articulated figure of both when i go to Calgary, but judging by the title and thumb.... yeah this doesn't sound good.
EDIT: Okay, despite what you said, I'm still going to have to buy this one. So please don't hate. Plus, here's an easy fix.... make the damn skirt out of FABRIC!!!!
No hate at all, completely understand if it's your favorite character it's a must have! Replacing the skirt with fabric is a good idea, though I'm not sure Tamashii would consider it. Glad to hear you'll be picking up some figures!
Shame about Whis. The figure doesn't seem to do much and it's over £100 now just like Beerus..
I'm new to show figuarts collecting and my Vegeta has opaque hair with no gloss! Otherwise it's the same figure and the box is the same as the one in the background. Were there two versions of the figure or is it a running change?

Which Trunks are you talking about? The original release one? or the premium color one that released later?
Awh man I just got the Premium color vegeta, and I hate to admit it but I think you're right 😭
I find the Trunks comparison a bit unfair. The premium color Future Trunks was a downgrade from the original release in appearance. The original release has a better hair color and paint application in the face. Sadly the articulation is outdated compared to later Trunks releases. But In the overall looks the first release of this Trunks looks way better than the Premium Color edition.
Yeah I made the mistake of trading my Beerus for the premium Vegeta. One of the biggest mistakes in my life...

Do these toy companies consult with the creators of the Dragon Ball anime to make sure they are happy with it before it goes to market? Do the toy companies use Pantone for their colors or another color system? Can you get an interview with someone who works for Figuarts to get their perspective on why they made certain choices to the action figure? I'd love to hear why they made certain decisions in making the toy. Also, is there a toy company that makes better quality DB toys than S.H. Figuarts or is Figuarts considered the "gold standard" of toy quality?
I feel you on the Mac and cheese ssj hair. That shiny hair look literally only works on ssb imo. Regular ssj hair should be a more Matt finish, yellow white highlights.
I think the Vegeta one somewhat makes sense because super saiyan did use to look all shiny in it's first appearance which looks good on my opinion
When I got my premium color trunks the sword sheath Peg broke
I love the premium color vegeta, thats why i bought him instead of the OG versión. For me it looks a lot BETTER

I think the gohan and trucks are excusable because they where still figuring out the line weather it was there own take closer to the manga or accurate to the anime
I agree. Vegeta and Trunks were disappointing, especially considering a few months later we just got the 2.0 ssj Vegeta. I felt like a giant sucker buying them.

You're still lucky in comparison to kaiju fans, since Figuarts are much cheaper than Monsterarts. So any mess-up is even worse for our cash.

My only 3 figures that i really don't like are gohan ultimate because of the faces, vegeta premium color edition because of the faces and the weird articulation and finally vegetto it really pissed me of when i see that they reuse the body of goku again...

These figures make Dragon Stars look like Picasso and have you seen how derpy some of there figures look
I totally agree about the original Trunks. The faces are so ugly and the hair is so small and not spiky enough. And the body and limbs just look like they’re from a cheap toy. Even the Figure Rise Standard model kit looks waaay better which is sad.
SS3 Goku is definitely the worst of them all though. What a disaster.
Whis an acrobatic charachter??? Whis is agile, he has to be he is an angel, but can you name me one instance in the show where he has shown great feet of agility? Plus I am 100% sure, that no matter how much articulation you give him, you will always display him in the pose whit his arme behinde the back standing straight upp. I don't wan't to sound like hate, I like you and you'r chanel but i felt like adresing this!
Well no you have a good point. And while he isn't a 'feet' guy he should at least be able to splay his legs wide enough so the figure doesn't fall over so much without support in my opinion....or maybe my Whis figure is vertically challenged 😜

I would take Whis off this list and replace it with the original SS Goku. Yeah it’s lame that Whis can’t move his legs but we never see him kick in the movies so it’s not a big deal. He fought Goku and Vegeta using only his hands. The original SS Goku figure is so UGLY. I can’t even look at it anymore. The face is hideous and the colors make it look sun damaged. Can’t wait for a proper 2.0 of him.

All the boxes look really good but some action figures dont look good
In my opinion premium color vegeta is better than ssj god vegeta. I have both of them and the body of pc vegeta is better because is more compact and it have more muscle in his legs. Blue vegeta is so skinny and the big issue is the joints of the arms because those joints is not hide you can see it. The arms look separate from the thorso . Faces are great in both.
