Very solid list of tips and advice - I enjoyed listening as my collecting journey was very similar: Star Wars VC led to the Black Series, Marvel Legends followed shortly after, and then SH Figuarts. I agree completely with enjoying your collection, loving the chase, and also being willing to try out 3rd party items to affordably fill holes in your display and create unique kit-bashing opportunities.
Definitely do your research and patience’s I was going to buy ss4 Goku for $80 then I found out it’s coming to target this fall for $34.99 so I’m waiting for the target release
Definitely agree with showing that you care about your collection I personally love to pose these figure cause these dragon ball characters go crazy 😎and I’ve never had a problem with 3rd party figure as long as there good quality
This definitely helped me I'm getting back into dragon ball and I'm getting more shf and these tips will help me with collecting because I'm only 14 so I don't have the most money but I appreciate everything I get
you nailed it 100% when you cram it onto a bookshelf with all your characters it takes away from each figure and it also looks VERY CHILDISH when everything is spaced out it looks way more collector i respect 3 pieces of sh figurarts displayed properly than 20 crammed next to each other
Hey man, awesome video. Did skip some part but it did help a lot. First,I would like to say that i just started collecting the line about a month ago and I bought 5 figures which in total costed me 300 euros.I got the kaioken goku (the new one),i got full power ssj goku, ssjb goku from the broly movie, ssj rose(the new one that cost 35 something)and ssjb gogeta. The full price of all these figures can seem a little bit jarring, but i got really excited. I went on a holiday to Italy with my parents and I went to 2 stores in Milan. Thats where I was able to pick up the figures. About 2 years back was the first time I went to Italy and I regret not getting the great saiyaman which costed 70 euros. I was scared of the pricing since I saw it was going a lot cheaper on the big bad toy store but I was young and I didnt know when and how to spend my money. Also I am scared of online shopping since I have been scammed before on some other toys(bootlegs of the transformers line). So now I wanna buy some figures from the big bad toy store and I have a couple of questions. You explained how the pre-order feature works but I didnt understand it quite well. If I pre order ,for example the new superhero gohan which I wanna get, will I get the figure shipped when they have it in stock, and thats it, or is there some other payment after that. So basically my question is if I pre order does that mean that I have the figure guaranteed purchased, but it will be arriving at a later date, or is there something extra. My plans are to buy the new gohan, piccolo and the new frieza. Ill maybe get the new goku and vegeta as well, but im not so sure. And my second question is about the recent quallity control for the line. They have a new factory in vietnam and the quallity control there is so much worse than the ones in china. All my figures are from china, except the full power goku, and yea the quality difference is noticable. It doesnt feel like its gonna break like a bootleg, but with all the pictures i've seen of peoples figures being snapped in half, I am scared.I havent collected anything in so long, and i've wanted to be a part of this line for so long, but i was scared.I know its an expensive hobby, but i have some cash saved up and I would like to buy at least one figure for every character. My favorite figure is the broly movie vegeta and he is gonna be very expensive to get, unless I am able to get him somewere for a reasonable price, either from online, or in a physical shop like in Milan. I know this comment is very long but i've been thinking of the correct words of how to write it with all my questions. If you read all of this, I am very thankfull and I hope you have a great day. Stay safe (If anyone else can give me some advice and anwser my questions, I would be very thankfull).
It’s a rare occasion, but I literally just walked in my Wal mart last week & picked up a goku figuarts & the target by my way has about 7 goku black figuarts in stock
Really enjoyed the video, glad I stumbled upon your channel. Just got my first figuarts (Bardock) and now I’m in deep. I really want SSB Vegeta but I’m hoping it will get a reissue as it’s very expensive. I’m taking your advice and trying to acquire other figures that are readily available. Do you recommend Facebook groups as a good option to buy figures?
I love my collection, been collecting for about 3 years and I have First and Final form Frieza, Cooler, Zarbon, Bardock, Nappa, SROE Goku, the Super Hero variants of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan, both DBS Broly figures, Fused Zamasu, SSR Goku Black, both Jirens, SS Goku, Kaioken Goku, MUI Goku, Kefla, Super Trunks, Tao Pai Pai, Demon King Piccolo, SS4 Goku, Ranger Android #17, SSB Gogeta, Gotenks, Krillin, Super Buu and Event Exclusive Golden Frieza - I’m nowhere near done yet!
@@dr3nch_g0d52 really tough to say, I absolutely love EE Nappa and Bardock because the skin tones are perfect, the armour is so well sculpted, it really just captures the essence of the character- as well as those, First Form Frieza is incredible, unboxing him for the first time felt like a religious experience.
Great video man I've been collecting since 2014 and I agree with a lot of what you said it can intimidating getting into a series that has had years to grow it can be overwhelming especially with exclusive my advice to any newcomer is look for bundle or lots they can go from 400 to 800+ it can be hard to drop that much at once but sellers seem to sell at a lower price if you buy 4 or 5 together
I recently started my collection, I was looking around target and saw ssj blue goku it was $40 and bam my collection has been growing slowly but surely, I just preordered all the super hero ones along with two of my most expensive ones being legendary broly(super) and super buu. rip to my college fund
Just go head first like Ralph from the Simpsons through the window because a lot of them are complete bangers and some are mid and other well yeah low and bad but it's ok because sometimes well it can be a long time if they say like reissue or a complete retool like all the Goku's and the repaints. But if it really does help get the ones you like like i wanted the og broly with the more olive skin color and the distinct green hair not shaded. And they did, ehhhhhowever they made it a exclusive i still got it BUT I LOVE IT. BUT now he like 400 now so hmmmmm.... There's that but oh well.
I agree with the quality too with d-fit and and tamashii. Tamashii quality can be AMAZING or average... Or if real unlucky bad.. but i hear the exact same thing with them that they are good but not GOOOD if you get what i mean
with Big bad toy store, ship your figures 1 at a time, i havnt had an import fee doing it that way, cost me £70 when i got them all shipped together at once
I told myself I’d only get a few Gokus. One year later I now I have 10+ gokus, 3 Brolys, Cooler, Beerus, Whis, 3 Friezas, Krillin, 2 Jirens, Zamasu, 2 Vegeta’s, Super Buu, Piccolo and the list goes on. 😱
I live Australia and there are no sh figuarts. I’ve tried finding some but have had no luck so I am wondering if there are any websites I can buy some it would be a great help
1) I live in Canada, they are much harder to find here 2) This video is almost 2 years old, before SHF started to become frequent in those kinds of stores

I haven’t used any facebook groups personally! But many have recommended them to me

Ooh my first like actual collectable wasn't a dbz figure it was MegaMan from D-arts remember them? They were really really good like Soo good
I don’t know for most but my target at their collectors section and not the toys section you can find figuarts for people who have targets nearby
I added a couple more sites that you didn’t mention down below
Cool I just Started Collecting I only have Goku and Goku Black and I ordered Frieza
amiami is where its at, best retail pricing and pre orders demand payment on release and I also use mandarake for used figures
Just go head first like Ralph from the Simpsons through the window because a lot of them are complete bangers and some are mid and other well yeah low and bad but it's ok because sometimes well it can be a long time if they say like reissue or a complete retool like all the Goku's and the repaints. Mercari
I actually found one of my figures on a Target shelf😅
