I was extremely unlucky or lucky because he did me a favour as I appeared in front of him five times and on the fifth one he finally gave me that coveted all London Green badge. To all knowledge boys and girls keep your head down because in the end it is all worth it!!!! It is always a continuing story with London it is evolving all the time. Even when you have got your badge there is always something new to learn, remember that!!!! Be lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did the blue book completely before i applied for my first appearance...I recieved 2 28's and three 21's one 14,back chatted and got 3 drives....after 25 years, i enjoyed the job. Uber has fucked the game.
Hey, Stormcab, great post from you. I came here after watching the 1979 classic television adaptation by Jim Rosenthal, starring Mick Ford, Michael Elphick and Maureen Lipman. Do you know if other big cities have looked at this and implemented a similar system? As examples I should think that New York, Tokyo, Moscow and Mexico City were also no walk in the park. Just wondering if anybody else was inspired by the humble London cabbie.
Don’t waste our time on the knowledge , black cab trade has been slaughtered by Boris ,Sadic,and TFL ,don’t waste your life on the knowledge ,it’s is a dying trade ,I know ,drove black cab for over 50 years ,learn a trade ,expenses are far to high to make a living with driving a black cab ,

I disagree have been out 10 years upto Covid I was earning the same money every year good money! Problems are more the attitude of drivers
