A true classic. Watch out for 2 actors from Abigail's Party and Auf Wiedersehen Pet and 1 from The Singing Detective. Coupled with Nigel Hawthorn and the pen of Rothenthal - JOB DONE! I've loved this for about 30 years. And thanks to you, I'll enjoy it for the umpteenth time tonight! BCNU...
I saw this once on TV decades ago and it was so good I hoped it would be shown again so I could record it but it was never shown again.I am really happy to find it on You Tube.Thanks.
Do I remember this one! It was broadcasted in Germany when I was young and had me hooked from the first scene. Thanks for posting this production of English quality.
Kim Taylforth who co-starred in this cult TV drama The Knowledge was in London's Burning,Brookside and Bad Girls. She has recently touring theatres with her older sister Gillian,
As enlightening and entertaining as it was when it came out, with some great characters in it, especially "The Vampire", portrayed by the wonderful Nigel Hawthorne.
Finding Room 12. Just seeing "you got an ology" you are almost a scientist! "Beattie" Later film director Jonathan Lynn. Look at this cast. The full 9 yards. Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister
I hope that our hero doesn't end up looking at himself in the mirror , saying : " You're talkin ' to me ? You're talkin' to me ? Well , there's noone else around !" BANG !
stnicholas54 manor house station - gibson square is the first run till today, which black cabbie do .. 320 runs must be done by them to pass the world famous knowledge
Lovely film. It's available as part of a box set of Jack Rosenthal at ITV. But the DVD in that set (like this upload) has an annoying sound fault. There is a persistent electronic "tone" throughout much of it. This would seem to be a transfer fault (film to VT), and perhaps it is a fault on the master tape. It is such a shame; you just have to try to ignore it and enjoy this superb film. It is the only film of the box set that has such a fault.
Absolutely brilliant play/film unless yer an Essex cowboy innit? An understated film wiv that absolutely wonderful Nigel Hawthorne know wot I mean? No wonder they're (London Cabbies) professionals unlike the GPS clowns 'ere.
I never thought I'd see this again...this ran once in the U.S. in the late 1970's. And I never remembered the Knowledge was ordained by Oliver Cromwell (stupid git).

Mick Ford is married to Penny from Grange Hill, who is the daughter of writer Dame Beryl Bainbridge. Michael Elphick popped up a lot in those days.
Man, the London skyline is almost unrecognisable the the 70's!
Fasten your seatbelts - contains great acting, an intelligent script, and is superbly realised - talented.
