Meanwhile the Timex is still sold out and the Bambino is still a Bambino.
That Timex electric is super cool. You introduced me to something new and quirky, thats what made me subscribe.
I saw this marlin yesterday personally i admit its very tempting to own. The brand and an automatic movement a must have timepiece ill just line it on my next purchase
Prefer the clean look of the Marlin. Simple and classy. I dont care for the roman numerials or yellow face of the orient shown. Also, to many useless tics going on between the 5 minute ranges. Matter of taste. Thanks for the in depth review. Cheers
Thank you!
My late father would wear a Timex Marlin from the 1970’s, it was gold plated with Roman numerals, it was wind up, and had a bracelet, had it serviced on a regular basis, I have never had an electric watch before, won’t start now, as for all the others… not into reproduced watches due to their components, they might be fine watches, I preferred Timex from the early 1960’s, not thinking those new reproduction watches looked cheap… amazing looking (if I may suggest), they looked to big, 34mm diameter would suit me.
Hi I'm a new subscriber looking forward to looking at more of your reviews. Picked my Timex up in a retail outlet in England for equivalent 94 Dollars US. At that price it's reasonable value for money. Agree you should have much more quality for Timex's original price.
Thank you for this review. I was excited about purchasing this watch. I think I will save that money to find a better value. So I want to thank you again for saving me that purchase price.
Thank you.
Great video, Thanks. I have a 1973 Automatic that has some of the dial print fading so if they were after the vintage look mission accomplished lol. 😎👍
Good video! Love the way you deliver an idea!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
The cheap Myota movement in the Timex is very reminiscent of the cheap pin pallet movement used many years ago, and which was a nightmare to work on. The new jewelled movement is obviously based on the old garbage movement of old.
Ahhh... Vintage Timex pre-quartz electric watches. I've got several. In fact currently wearing my dark blue electric Dynabeat coincidentally. It's even still on the old-man expansion bracelet it came with. You said late 70's, but my research indicates the electrics were pretty much mid 60's till around mid-70's. I believe even Bulova Accutrons (electric tuning fork movement) were done by '76. But I could be wrong...
You are correct of course. I meant to say late sixties, not late 70s on the Timex Electric. Also, I am kicking myself for not mentioning or showing a Dynabeat. Needless to sat I was disappointed with this watch. Also, 25 days since return, still no refund!
So you think the Orient Bambino is better ? I was going to buy a Timex Marlin . Thanks
The Bambino is a better watch, hands down.
Paid 130 bucks for a new one as size and style is to my liking. Hope it won't be too bulky though.
great review by you, missed opportunity by timex
Thank you and agreed
Not wowed at all...somewhat disappointed by timex with this model. Very poor release, not sure what they were thinking.
I was disappointed as well. This is the first watch i have ever returned, except for defect. .
Tony, do you have any Vostok reviews? I live my 3 Amphibia's
I do not. But I will do a full review on any submitted watch. If you are interested in sending to me for a review, let me know. I will pay shipping back to you as long as you live in the US 48.
I got a refund on my Marlin because the hands weren’t aligned. The minute hand at 12 gave an hour hand at half past.
Was that the new 40MM version you sent back? I have been waiting 25 days for my refund so far, still not luck.
Watch Time LA
No, it was the 34mm when it first came out. Timex UK refunded my money with no quibble within 2 weeks when I sent the watch back. I phoned them to get a refund reference number which I quoted in the covering letter and I wrote it on the package as well.
I’d rather get a sub $100 Seiko automatic than that Timex
Just bought it but I should of watched your review first. It looks cool and sorta retro but it’s clunky? I see what your saying about the sounds and stuff. It’s almost hollow sounding? I’m not impressed. I would of been happier if they used a seagull movement instead. Or, for $250 they could of used a Miyota 9015 high beat! I bought mine on eBay for $150 new and that’s still too much! Timex is better than this!
Finally 😎
Sorry, i didn't want to post it so close to the unboxing.
Sad Watch...No screw down crown, cheap movement, no lume, Pitiful watch. A total Rip-off
Agreed!
Watched the whole video and I can only conclude this is an overpriced peace of junk, trying to cash in on the vintage moniker.
It has whatever value someone give it. For me, the Seiko SKX is 10 times the watch for half the price.
