  • C&O 2716 was leased and restored by the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society from the Kentucky Railway Museum for excursions in 1996. In this video, you'll see the 2716 pulling freight, excursions and even a cab ride.

    I hope Chesapeake & Ohio 2716 will return to service soon.

      Well, its re-re-restoration moves at the speed of money, just like any other rail preservation project, so the more money Kentucky Steam has coming in, the sooner 2716 will see a popped off safety valve that is its own once again.

      Fort Wayne had 2 whistles on 2716 she had her original c&o hooter and the whistle you mostly hear is a Crosby 3 chime the hooter made a few great appearances in this video but I do love the Crosby 3 chime

      I think 2716 should wear 614’s whistle from the 80’s after restoration.
