You need your drain it on the side stand. There is is a service alert that came out in February of 24 that tells u how to ensure proper oil level.

@billybifocal the service alert states the level should be checked with the bike held upright. As per my previous comment there's not a whole lot of difference. My issue is that the quoted amount of oil to put in is well below what is required which is why when the dealer did my first couple of services I always needed to top it up. I don't understand why it's not mentioned more. Trouble is I can't remember how much short it is, but plenty

I see the latest info suggests the bike should be held upright and not on the centre or jiffy stand…have you noticed any difference in oil levels yourself between 2/3 methods…..?
I’d been relying on the jiffy stand method before this and when I put the bike upright after the announcement ended up topping up quite a bit….maybe even a third of a litre….worrying that the HD tech didn’t do this During the first service , unless of course it uses a fair mount of oil anyway…I’d done 750/1000 miles since the first service and to be honest didn’t check what level it was when I picked it up after the 1k dealer service. Does yours tend to consume oil ?

I did check it all three ways and to be honest there is little in it. All within safe limits of low-high. I'll caveat by saying I always turn the bike on to lower the suspension for checking on the side stand. I did do a video showing the measurements but didn't put it up as so little difference but maybe I should? The bike doesn't really use any oil
