    In the case of Thailand I think its okay because the visa fee is very low.

    Another good question is why the syphilis tests are needed to renew work permits?
    After the invention of antibiotics, I don't really think that disease warrants so much attention. not these days.

    The Thai re-entry permit seems waste of time and money for all any any trips out of the country combined with tm-30 required un Hua Hin when re entering. Also my wife did in fact lose her green card in the U.S. from leaving the country for too long, with out some sort of notification of leaving the country for a prolonged time. if I remember right something like a year or more.

    ABSOLUTELY ITS A CASH GRAB it should simply be a multi entry visa extension on renewal and now on top us retiree's will be hit with 300 baht tourist charge ..... but getting slapped in the face by this system is just how it is if you want to live here.... and dont forget to tell them where you live every 10 minutes .....
