Hi Louis, I had a mate come over last night. We spent a few hours, and we're pretty much got it dialled in, and it is nothing short of miraculous what's happened in the room. Once we locked the phase in every frequency improved in the room. I have essentially got a completely flat response in there now with the spectrum analyser. But let me assure you, you would never describe the presentation in that room now as flat in any way. It is as alive as I've ever heard my system sound.👌👍🎧😁
I love my sub and could not imagine audio listening without it. I added an active crossover recently with took things to an ever better level. It looks like the Wilson sub comes with an active crossover. You are in for a treat.
Seriously interested in this. My system is a much lower level but I have dual Rel- T7X which I had professionally integrated into my 2-channel setup (while having my room acoustically treated at the same time of course). Very interested in hearing about the 2 channel setup with Wilson
Hey Shane, is the low pass output from your Wilson active crossover L&R or summed mono I can't quite tell i can see its stereo on the Hi Pass which you would expect. With the single output it has to be summed mono as you know, but if its designed for dual subs it could be stereo left and right. It could take you several weeks to integrate it seamlessly into your system so don't be discouraged if it doesn't sound good to you at first or you can localise it. Also you can't assume it will sound best in its current position, you may have to choose another to get it to disappear
Hi Stacey, I didn't do a great job of explaining that in the video. I'll make sure I clarify in the next one. The watch controller can connect two subs, and they are summed mono. Yes, I agree with you that this will not be an instant process. I'm prepared for that a couple of my friends that have done this are also going to be helping me.👍🎧🙂
@@shanestephenson8423That's good you have a couple of friends that have been through the process, us audiophiles have a bad habit of thinking we are too clever for the owners manual, and sure sometimes there is no need. I have to admit i had mine for 2 years before I had a tinker following the manual, 99% of people would have been happy with it and it sounded good, but it improved out of sight when it was right, I had to high a cut-off and too much gain, set like that it didn't have as much influence on the highs. I have a REL and their instructions are some of the finest I have read, their method is to turn the crossover to its highest setting and gain at its lowest and play something with a known bass content, then start increasing the gain until the subs volume level is matched to your main speakers, then turn the crossover to its lowest cutoff, the bass from the sub will all but disappear, then increase gain until you can hear deep bass then start slowly raising the cutoff noticing the bass will appear stronger and louder if one position seems too much reduce the cutoff slightly until there is a good match between the sub and main speakers. After this it will be necessary to re adjust the gain, what you are looking for is a smooth transition from your main speakers and the sub. It says a good test of smoothness and integration is to play something without significant or noticeable bass content like a string quartet or gentle piano. The presence of the sub shouldn't be noticeable under these conditions it's absence when switched off should immediately be obvious, air around instruments, depth, and sound staging will be impaired. The system hasn't changed just the beneficial effects of a wide bandwidth are now missing. A method of positioning you may have heard of but just in case. Put your sub in the listening position then walk around the room noticing where bass is stronger or weaker in positions where you can site the sub depending on what you are trying to achieve, for you with the 80 Hz bump the weaker spot I would assume. When you find a suitable spot you simply move the sub to there I hope this is of some help and shortens the process. Keep up the great videos 👍👌🙏 PS I would try the REL method with the sub where you have initially placed the sub by your sofa first
Yes, you make a valid point, but it's all about acoustic treatment and system setup. Most people that come into my room forget where the walls are. They feel like they're in a much bigger space. I can certainly overwhelm and pressurised the room if I want to, but it's all about keeping levels realistic.👌🎧👍
@@shanestephenson8423 yes totaly agree room treatment is king. I have your same speakers and I was thinking about subs, which I can hear your experience after you dial them in.
GM☕️🥓💊🦘 The integration of the fun ..given the performance of the current set up …should be interesting….can you improve on NEAR perfection 🧐🧐🧐 Wait …there’s always an improvement to be had …I forgot what I was talking about 😂😂😂
Very cool piece of hardware. Can’t wait to hear the end result.

@@shanestephenson8423truly impressive! Love to see a breakdown on how you use the spectrum analyzer to achieve the perfect sound 😉

Thanks for letting me know about your experience. That's awesome. I promise I'll be filming mine for all you all to see.👍🎧
At work now can’t wait to check this video journey on adding subwoofer. This is going to a whole other dimension to your system.!!
@ericelmore887 Hi Eric, Yes, I'm excited to hear what is going to happen to the presentation in the room as well.🙂🎧👍

@pauldavis5967 That all sounds exciting, Paul. Hopefully, you've got some amazing results. Stay tuned because all will be revealed.👍🎧🙂

I feel your is pretty small for such large setup, will be too much for the space ?

@dragonkabodan Thanks, 🙏it has made a huge difference for the positive having the watch dog sub in the room now.🎧
