I’ll take a listen to the test tracks. I read on the SA FB page that they have a new platter mat. Have you tried it?
This teack two for me mate, it sounds more composted with possibly better resolution 👍
Now we're talking mate! Looking forward to the comparison 👍

Wow, I’ve seen these online /other reviewers. Great review, and thank you for covering these. Would you say they’d still work convincingly well in a room about 10x14ft. with a sub (or two)?
Hi, Yes, absolutely. They would work fine in a room that size with a sub. The wonderful thing about them is that they are so small that they literally disappear, projecting an amazing sound stage.🙂🎧👍
🖤did you spin Spirit Of Place through the Kleins..? was just wondering how the didge might have sounded.. ♣if you like a bit of laid back didge music you might like to check out some of Matt James stuff from the mid 2000's.. ✌
@clickbeetle2720 No, I never got a chance to. Thanks for the tip, man. I'll check it out.👌🎧🙂
Great video Shane. Just subscribed to your channel. Quick question for you: how close can we be to the Klein to enjoy their great sound. Will near field listening be satisfactory. As in truly desktop set-up, 3-ft away from the speakers... Also, what are they like in low volume listening setting? Thanks again
@raphaelmeillat8527 Hi, welcome aboard🙂 Now to answer your questions. You would have no problems being 3 ft away from these. They really are designed as a desktop near field speaker. I was reviewing them from some distance away, I'm sure they are not really designed for listening at that distance, but in saying that, they totally impressed me in the positions I had them in. I did listen to them up close around 3 ft away on some speaker stands, not on camera, though. They were equally as good at imaging and soundstage in close. They are as most small speakers are fairly inefficient at around 85db 1m 1w. So some good clean current from an amplifier does them no harm at all, but they certainly didn't fall off a cliff in the lower octave when listening, at around 75db as most speakers this size do.🎧🙂👍
Wow! Very cool!
Thanks!
Afternoon from tropical Scotland 😁 I hope everyone is safe and well 😁 this one for me, the music has a bit more weight and body 😁 stop being lazy everyone hit like and subscribe, remember shane has to as do all youtubers setup, film, edit and post which is time consuming, least we can do is click, anyway please stay safe everyone and look after yourselves 😁

That stack audio video dropped the other day on that vinyl channel
Awesome review, glad stone-style speakers are getting more exposure (such as Fischer & Fischer, Maco, and Acora Acoustics)! I do wonder how the Klein would compare to the more expensive Børresen X1, Avid Audio Evo Four or Reference Four, or even the entry high-end TAD ME1? Regardless, love the dual separated crossovers in similar slate enclosures, and the overall performance ratio of the Fischer & Fischer Klein!
Thanks for your considered comments. I have been lucky enough to hear all of those speakers that you mentioned above. The reason I'm calling these the best in the world is simply because of their price to performance ratio, and they are smaller than the others you mentioned as well. But I do appreciate your commentary.🙏🎧🙂
@shanestephenson8423 yes I believe that's how I understood your review; not best absolutely, but price-to-performance it likely is the best. The delta between speakers of the past to now (even five years ago), the expectation to what performance to now expect, and the moving goal posts of greater quality overall at more affordable pricing, has been revelatory. I'm stoked that the current era of audio is being exploded in fantastic quality and variety at almost every budget, and that ultra-fi/summit gear directly influences the very affordable equipment and vice versa. Thank you for the awesome and informative review of the Klein!
@TheOneInYellow Yes, excellent points you make once again. Yeah, I think the trickle-down theory really is something when it comes to hi-fi equipment. It's a great time to be an audiophile. 👌🙂🎧
Played years ago with the Vroemen Il Bambino Brazilian Sly (stone) . Vroemen produced also speakers in Germany (Aachen) made by Marble (stone) , and I only can say those kind of speakers sly (stone) are verry verry good .
Yeah, I agree there's something in this very inert stone or slate construction. It really seems to work.👍🎧👌

IMPRESSIVE! After watching your shorts on these speakers, I’m blown away how good they sound. These are going on the short list for the office. Thanks for the review Shane! 🙌
Yeah, mate, I haven't come across anything that sounds anywhere near as good as these given their size.🎧🙂👍
The best on the planet you say?
@wh0tube Yes, they are as good as anything I've ever heard.
You know what? I believe you! There are millions of claims on RUclips about the best, the only, the last, etc. But, with people like yourself, you can tell you genuinely believe in the product you’re reviewing.
@wh0tube Yes I know what you mean there are loads of lofty claims out there to get clicks, but my integrity is everything to me at the end of the day I'm not going to say anything I don't 100% believe in. I've been lucky enough to hear a lot of equipment over my 35 years doing this, and for their size and their price, there is nothing out there better that I know about.🎧🙂👍
Hi Shane, a bit hard to comment without hearing this track with the Kuzma clamp first, I'm sure you will know being there and possibly heard this with the original clamp 👍

Hy, top Audio fest in 1995 in Milano the best speaker Fisher&fisher, amazing
I really want to hear the larger ones of these man just look so insane as well . I bet they sound so huge, controlled and fast with the slate cabinets and high end crossover parts .
Stay tuned, brother. I'll have some floor standards in for review in January if all goes well.🎧👌👍
Excellent summary Shane! But I have questions. 😂 1. Did you measure the frequency response when the Kleins were positioned on top of the Wilson woofer cabinet? I’m curious what the bass frequency response was like when positioned in the room away from the walls. 2. Did you measure the frequency response with the Kleins on the SA CSA EQ’s or sitting on the entertainment cabinet? 3. What was the high frequency response like? Did you measure it? I’d imagine the electrostatic airiness of the Kleins is attributed to both the driver size and the rigidity of the slate cabinets. I’d imagine the stress on the crossover cable at the monitor connection might be reduced by placing the monitors on the SA CSA EQ’s. Or to place the Kleins on their sides, as I believe you did, that would enhance stereo imaging. 4. Finally, did you isolate the crossovers with SA CSA EQ’s?
Hi Dan, let's go through your questions with answers. I measured the Klein's with and without the stack audio isolation under them on the entertainment cabinet. The measurement I quoted in the video we're with the isolation under the speakers. Without the isolation, I got down to 53 Hz with roughly the same roll-off -2db. When I had the speakers on the Wilsons, they went down to 58 Hz with basically a flat response (no roll off). I preferred them on the Wilsons, sacrificing a little bit of low-end extension because the payoff was a wider, more dimensional soundstage. It wasn't much, but it certainly was better. The high frequency response was brilliant, with no roll-off at 20,000 cycles. I agree with you. I think the secret sauce here to their quickness is their driver size and quality and the material the cabinets are made from. I did isolate the crossovers. There was no measurable improvement and nothing I could hear when testing the speakers in the room. But I would certainly decouple or isolate the crossover network from any potential vibration if I owned these speakers. Good questions, Dan .🎧🙂👍
Fantastic analysis, Shane! Much appreciated!
I really feel your enthusiasm for these speakers! Thank you for reviewing them. Could you please tell me the cost of Klein speakers in US dollars? Thanks
Or the cost in Australian dollars..
The recommended retail price in Australia, I believe, is $6,800. And I think it's around $4,000 US, but you would need to confirm that with Mikey.🎧🙂👍
@Shane The F&F SN70’s go for USD4500 (likely without stands). The Kleins are likely USD3000 (again without stands), but folks would need to inquire with the US importer/dealer who shall remain nameless. 🤣
Thanks for the info.
what's the brand name?greetings from France
Hi from Australia. Fischer & Fischer is the speaker brand. They come out of Germany. 👍🎧
What F&F model should I test to eventually replace my bi-amped SF Liliums ?
I’d recommend the F&F SN1000.1 AMT 4-way, tri-wirable, the F&F SN770 AMT 4-way, triwirable, or the F&F SN670 3-way, bi-wirable. In the US, the respective prices are $110k USD, $42.5k USD, and $35k USD.
@ problem with the 1000 is I must check my floor resistance to weight…
@ Yep. They are heavy.
I couldn't put it any better myself.
Hey Shane, the texture of those slate beauty's showed up very well. the slate is amazing. I Definitely agree that they are a 10 out of 10. F&F ROCK THE HOUSE ! 😀🎶🎸🎷🎺🪘🥁🎻🎵
Hi Shane, nice review! Would like your opinion. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and I’m considering the F&F SN70 bookshelf speakers or possibly one of the larger floor standing speakers, the F&F SN270 or F&F SN370. Based on your experience with the F&F Klein, do you feel the SN70 bookshelf speakers would be sufficient for anyone that lives in an apartment and a subwoofer could be added later if needed? A concern I have with the larger F&F 270 and 370 floor standing speakers is the ability for optimal speaker placement for a med size living room. The floor standing speakers may take up too much space and optimal speaker placement may not be possible. Also some concerns with loud volume listening without disturbing the neighbors so bookshelf may be better option and adding a subwoofer if needed. Cheers.
@awanderlustseoul I feel your pain of space constraints, as I’m similarly positioned. From the experience of OCD Mikey showing the F&F SN470’s and F&F SN70’s in the hotel room space at the Capitol Audio Fest in 2023 and 2024, respectively, he suggested the bigger floor standing speakers overloaded the room while the smaller monitors hit the sweet spot. I’m considering this F&F speaker choice as well, as I can’t devote too much space to my audio system in my listening space.
You make some very good points there that definitely need to be considered. I wouldn't rule out these speakers I've just reviewed with a small sub. If I were in that kind of listening environment, I would have no hesitations to go this way. You would have a lot more options for positioning. They really are amazing for their size. I haven't heard the SN 70s yet, but I'm tipping they will probably be slightly slower in their response than the Klein's, if for no other reason than the size of the drivers. I will probably have something the size of the SN 270s in my room in January for review, but I can't guarantee that at this stage. I would certainly not discount the Klein's for your consideration. My best advice would be to try and do an in-room audition of all of the speakers you're considering before pulling the trigger.🎧👍🙂
Impressive little speaker! Shane, does Fisher & Fisher have a miniature subwoofer that could be used with them?
@Eric-q9n Hi Eric, I don't think they do but a little 8 inch sub would be perfect you want something that is small and quick so it can keep up with the pace of these little speakers, but a little sub like that would be all you would need for a full range presentation that would sound killer. I did talk them up with my 12-inch Wilson sub, but it was a bit difficult to get the balance right.👍🎧😁
Shane 🤗 this was a spot on review of this tiny outstanding speakers. Love it ❤ Are you now infected by the Fischer & Fischer-Speaker-Verse and go a step further to one of their floorstanders soon? This would be so awesome 🔥🐹🔥
@ramlord6669 Hi, I will actually be getting a pair of floor standards in for review in January if all goes well.😁🎧👍

You are welcome mate, doing this review was my absolute pleasure.😁🎧👍
More and more falling in love with the speaker brand from the build quality to the sound that I heard in Mike room at the Audio show mind-boggling good
Hi Eric, yes, these for their size were the most impressive little speaker I've ever heard.👌👍🎧
🖤.. refreshing to know F&F have trickled down their expertise.. big tick.. pair matched.. big tick. Not many companies make the effort to pair match internal components and I'm not sure if F&F go to that length or simply match the sonics of finished units. Nonetheless, it all adds up to listener satisfaction. I wouldn't have been able to resist opening the crossover cabinet..😁 ♣for very little extra cash, it would be nice to hear how the SN/SL 70 performs with the slightly larger mid-bass driver & tweeter.. ♠👍..good one Shane!
@clickbeetle2720 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Thanks for your insight and commentary it's much appreciated.🎧👌👍
Hi Shane. How do these compare to the larger Osborn Titans you reviewed a while back?
@ryanford495 Hi Ryan, I think you could fit 4 of the Klein speakers in one of the Titan Elite cabinets just to give perspective to the size we're talking about here. I'm a fan of the Osborne Titan Elite speakers. Greg uses timber in his cabinets, and he managers to do that with minimal cabinet resonance, but Fischer & Fischer use slate which is more inert and seem to have no cabinet resonance that I can hear anyway. That, in turn, seems to amplify the lower octave produced by that little 3 1/2 inch midbass driver to almost unfathomable levels. The Klein speaker is more coherent. It is extremely difficult to hear what is being produced by each driver in the slate cabinet. I think some of that is due to the independence of the crossover network. So because of those reasons, it is a more evolved loudspeaker.👍🎧
@@shanestephenson8423 Appreciate it. Thanks for the detailed reply.

So you tested ALL desktop speakers on the planet? Do you realise that there are virtually thousands of similar speakers and you’ve heard them all? As Carl Sagan said: “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”, so prove your claim.
@wernerschroer6138 Where in that video did I say I had heard everything. I have heard anything that is comparable that is worth hearing that I am sure of. They are the best I have heard. They are worthy of an audition, and it's a headline, mate.
How about you prove that they aren't and give us a list of miniature speakers that have these credentials. Outboard crossovers very heavy dense slate enclosures top quality cabling that connects it to the outboard crossovers. Lastly have you heard any of Shane's videos demonstrating this masterpiece and -2 db at 50 hz in room speaks volumes. Shane's entitled to his opinion which I agree with and has the credentials to form this opinion and time spent listening and demonstrating these speakers
@staceymangham Thanks, mate. I had a feeling that headline might generate some pushback, lol. But if it gets more people to watch that video and go out and audition them, then I've done my job.👍👌🎧
Also have you even watched this entire video or just read the headline and drawn your gun out of the holster and fired
Hi, incredible sound ! the I'm sure that you have been enjoying the KLEIN'S Shane. Initially I thought they would be great for an apartment, but really they would be great in any room. the are fantastic. Thanks for the video's Cheers Kenny
@KennysHIFIdownUnder1 Thanks, Kenny.👍👌🎧
Can’t believe that’s from those little desktop speakers 😲
Yeah, mate, it really does shift the standard now of what to expect from something this tiny.👍🙂🎧
Amazing little speakers that you would think by the size, has no right to sound that good. The small speaker market seems to be exploding at the moment. I've heaed the PS audio FR5 recently and rhe name escapes me, but they were designed by Dave Cheskys 17 year old son and these, all sounding very good at all different price points
@staceymangham Yeah, the yardstick is certainly changing.🎧👌
Thanks for the shootout Shane. I have some older Inakustik fairly high end LS1603 with a very stiff outer which I found very dynamic, fast and clear yet integrated which was my taste. I did buy them with risers but have never bothered to compare with and without so your shootout inspired me. At first I was unsure as some tracks were more natural and nicer/smoother on the ground but definitely off the ground produces a more immediate and real sound with my issues probably having to do with some issues in my system I need to sort out in that there was a touch of harshness and messiness in some upper frequency sounds in some tracks or perhaps its even on the original file as I stream my own ripped files mainly. It possibly confirms that my current aim of trying different front end NAS/server/network bridge is worth pursuing. Even as it stands though, much more involving and immediate sound off the ground.
@georgecav That's awesome, George. I'm glad you tried it then.🎧👌
Damn 😳🦘 Zumurud sounds wonderful…and from those fabulous smol bois 😎
@carminedesanto6746 Hi mate, yeah, wonderful is the word.👌
Holy cow Shane, they sound like a full size floorstander and probably still improving from break in. Something to mention as well is how good your room acoustics are now, you can bring any speaker into the room and it will be able to perform at the best of its abilities when positioned correctly 👍 I notice you have removed the top section of your wilsons
@staceymangham Lol yeah, Stacey, I'm using the bottom part as a speaker stand with the Auva 100s underneath they're. The most expensive speaker stands you'll ever come across for a little desktop monitor like these things, but they sound amazing sitting on top of them.🙂👌🎧
