Vortex has great customer service. I called and ordered precision scope rings for my Vortex PST 6-24 scope. I wish I remembered the lady's name that helped me but she was on it. She got my order in and shipped quickly. Thank you Vortex!
I am a recipient of the VIP warranty. I overtightened the scope rings and bent the tube....vortex sent me a new one even when it was my fault! I'll only buy Vortex from now on!
Smitty01z28 -- After three returns of my 1-4x24x CrossfireII I complained that I had an inherently flawed scope and asked for a new one. They agreed, and it's performed perfectly. In every case they sent return labels to pay return shipping costs. I've been a devotee since and never had reason to send any of the other six (seven?) scopes or dots back. A warranty that has you constantly sending the item back is dubious, but my issue has been limited to one bad optic. All of the others, particularly my 6-18x44mm mil dot Crossfire II, have been nothing short of amazing clarity, function and reliability for a fraction of the price of any comparable option I've considered. They not only honor the VIP promise, they're eager to do so: friendly and professional.
Awesome ! I just bought a vortex scope for my ar ! Now I have better confidence in the product! Just keep bringing this great info to us! Your special lady in an awesome way !
After working for a manufacturer for 40 years its nice to see a company that cares about there people (which is the most important part of the business) and there customers. I just bought my first Vortex scope 4x12x40 because of all the reviews. Keep up the good work......
In regards to what a Mil works out to be, the Vortex rep misspoke here. He said a Miliradian is 1cm at 100m, but this is incorrect. 1 Miliradian is 10cm at 100m, and 0.1 Mils equals 1 cm at 100m. A miliradian is defined as the unit when the length of the circular arc is 1/1000 the radius of the circle. When you plug in the numbers, you get 1 Mil=100m/1000, simplified to 1 Mil=0.1m, or 1 Mil = 10cm.
norcofreerider604 You should drop the use of the unit centimetres, they cause confusion and errors. Using millimetres, 1millRad is 100mm at 100 metres. 1000mm at 1000 metres. A simple 1000/1 ratio that is precise and simple at any distance. To turn mm into cm, take off one zero. To turn it into metres, take off three zeros.
I bought a 3x Spitfire Prism scope, and I LOVE it! Nice to have a quality optic that doesn't break the bank, and comes with such an awesome warranty. Vortex you ROCK!!!
Been beating thru all the various scope manufacture's scope products, but this presentation has convinced me just go with Vortex for my first scope purchase because od their reputation AND WARRANTY.
When you put out a great product like Vortex, you can have a easily stand behind a great warranty. I own a Strikefire II and love it. Keep up the good work.
Greetings Lady D.... Update on my mistake. I purchased a RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor last June 2016. I needed a scope on her (Marilyn), so i had enough funds to buy/chose a Vortex Crossfire 2 in 6-24x50mm BDC(my mistake/FANTASTIC scope btw). Ya, the salesman called me an idiot in his demean-er when he asked what rifle i was going to mount it on. I took Marilyn out to my range, with the Vortex Crossfire perfectly mounted. I did the barrel break in thing(Hornady factory 129grn SST Superformance) - 5 shots/clean - 5 shots/clean - 10 shots/clean, all the while Zeroing my scope. I then put 10 shots into a 1.290inches at 108yrds(club range, 2 shots slightly pulled a 1/4" off group, or I would have had 10@ sub MOA ). Its now March 2017, and finally made a perfect decision, and bought another FANTASTIC Vortex scope through Cabelas here. This is going to be the 'White Dress' on Marilyn(LOL) its the Vortex Viper HS LR XLR 6-24x50mm. I should have it delivered either tomorrow or Saturday. Needless to say, I'm very excited(and broke). My head is still swirling from looking at videos, different scope types/reviews, and reticles. I cant wait to mount this Vortex Viper on my Ruger Precision Rifle, and try it during the clubs PRS Matches this summer. The good thing is, I will now be the proud owner of two Vortex scopes, albeit the Crossfire will need a new rifle some day....Hmmm I'm thinking a another Ruger in 6mm Creedmoor ?? Shhhh... Cheers and Blessings Lady D, All the best, and will update you down the road on PRS match results.... Stay Sharp :)
Vortex is so great. I lost a screw on a magnifier I bought. Even just for that little screw they took the time to send me a new pair. They really do care, about their products, and about their customers.
Very informative! I'm about ready to buy a Savage MK 2 22 bolt action rifle and will definitely be looking at Vortex Optics scopes. Nice job on the video and interview. Always good to see how a product comes together.
Hi Des good to see a vid from you all. Very professional looking quality. Thank you for bringing Vortex to the forefront. I need two for long range and one for an AR red dot just for fun. So many scope ads fail to mention the type of focal plane a scope has and that is very frustrating. Your great work will help to get them up to snuff. I hope the days of mismatched measurements are over. That is reticle in Mills and turrets in MOA. I came across a reference for those: 1 MOA = 0.28 Mills & 1 Mill = 3.6 MOA A matched set within the advertisement should be mentioned. There also are not to many fixed as compared to variable scope apparently. Can't wait to see more.
I'm 73 years old wearing surgical implants, going to buy a scope for range to 300 yes, also astigmatism in right eye, currently have a spitfire 3x prism and very happy with it never tried it at longer distance, suggestions on what type of scope I need
RE: Their Binos - Could you have them tell you and post here... what is the key difference or differentiating factor between their Binocular models. Starting from the CrossFire going up to the Razor. Sort of like a table, if you will, which lists the key differences that you are paying for?
Great video. Any chance you would cover mil scope adjustments in more detail? Like why are they better? ( I like iron sights but do own one fixed scope and kind of considering a variable scope ) What about thinking in centimeters is easier than thinking in inches? (besides there are no fractions just orders of magnitudes.)
Vortex is serious about customer service. Best part is when you call the customer service number a real person, in America, answers the phone. No automated message saying to press 1 for English and you don't have to work down through lots of layers of messages. A person answers the phone and will talk to you like a good friend. Also, email inquiries are answered promptly. I've spoken with both Travis and Jimmy at Vortex and they always provided exceptional service. I'll always buy Vortex optics.
Great Video, Great Info, and definetly will be buying Vortex Optics because of this video. Seems like a great company and love to see the quality control you guys provide and warranty offered.
Great break down. I have since learned this stuff, but this video would have been incredibly useful when I was buying my first few scopes. I think it will be valuable for many people.
Loved the Video. I used to shoot with Luopolds and Nikons. I purchased my first Vortex scope abut 2 yrs ago. Since then I have purchased 5 vortex scopes. I am beginning to get into the long range shooting. I Have one Viper 6.5-20x44, 2 CROSSFIRE 11 6-24X50, One 6-18x44 CROSSFIRE 11 w/ANOTHER ONE COMING IN MAIL. I am a retired US ARMY/ARKANSAS DEPT OF CORRECTIONS. I work volunteer on a rifle range as a weapon instructor and Safety Officer. I have advised all my customers to buy Vortex Scopes. I really love the quality of Vortex Scopes. I am beginning to get into long distance shooting with AR15 rifles. I am taking out golf balls at 300 yds. I am going to increase my distances golf ball distance further out. Which scope for around $500.00 price range, Would you recommend?
Wether you are getting a scope for self defense or hunting I believe; that a scope that is something like a IR with say a 2.5×10×50 is best. Because with 2.5 or 3 you can engage targets easily at 20 yards, then with 10× you can engage targets out to 1000 yards ( which is the most powerful scope that hathcock used for 1000 yard shot). 50 or better to let lots of light in. Along with a IR , preferably one that doesn't use batteries that need replacement or that will fail when needed most. Because most bad guys and animals to be hunted come out at dusk / dark / dawn. So a reticle that doesn't let alot of light in is awful. and black cross hairs on a dark or black target is impossible to see. So a IR is very important , after all game and bad guys tend to happen at dusk / dark / dawn.
Hey Des and Steve...How does the inspection process and VIP warranty work for your products built overseas? I'm particularly interested in the Strike Eagle scope.
Picked up a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x30mm after watching this. My first scope worth over $50, seems like a good investment. Just waiting on my 10/22 to arrive to try it out
I am purchasing a Tikka 223 T3 lite for fox hunting in Oz. I am a whistler so can get running foxes coming in fast within 75m, but also want to be able to ping a fox that stops around 300m out. I am using a ATN X-Sight for night shooting, but need a day scope. I believe I need good field of view, so 2-7 x or a 3-9x would be enough for the close shots and all good for longer ranges. I like the duplex reticle, and wont be doing much dialing in if I can help it, rather holding . but I can see at the longer ranges having graduations Mils or MOA sounds useful. I dont think we have much of a light issue in Australia. I want to mount using quick release ( Leopold? mounts so that I can switch to the night scope. What would your recommendation in scope specifications be? thankyou
Okay three reasons why I'm gonna subscribe to your channel:1 I saw you on Hickok45....2 you're from Wisconsin ! (yes, the same state I reside in! Minocqua,Wi),3 you're a bit of a tease and I like that, and your videos are great! Cheers and God bless to you and your family
Great video Destinee. It was very informative. Have you ever tried to contact NightForce and see if they would be willing to talk to you about their products also?
go to a store at dusk an ask to try out scopes. you'll see some are pitch black to look through. some are clear as a bell. try a IR and you'll see the difference between putting the cross hairs on a dark object with black cross hairs.
This is good! I am curious on how carbon filled it has to be before it stops working? Is this just a test piece or is this going to be your go to rifle, when all is said and done?
Not a creep: Your combination of firearm enthusiasm and unending cuteness has been huge for bringing my daughter (8) into our firearm world. Honestly, my wife too. They say a lot about "lifetime warranty", but sites like www.optics-trade.eu/ mention a 10 years warranty. So the "lifetime warranty" is only for US customers or what?
very cool video love how your camra man focused on your tush at the beginning very nice. I'm gonna pick up two there scopes one for my model70 30-06 and one for my m1a. keep up the awsum vids.✌
a tad off topic, but is it weird that my local hardware store has more guns than most gun shops? also, just bought my first henry lever gun...love this thing! :D
Destinee, what are your thoughts on the durability of Vortex's optics? Can it take the beating of an EoTech, Aimpoint or Trijicon? I have an WASR-10 and a Yugo M77 in 308. I am deciding on a Vortex 1-6 power scopes for them or the old school, Eastern European optics made from metal. Both are comparable in price, Vortex has more modern features while the Eastern European optics have proven durability. If Vortex optics can take a beating, I would go with them.
+chrisloUSA Thus far, I've had no durability issues with any of my Vortex Optics. I currently run one of their Spitfires (the 3x), a Crossfire (4-24x), and a little Razor (reflex sight).
Guns Gear & Fitness Thanks for your input Destinee. By the way, is the Spitfire a prismatic optic? I remember looking at a prismatic Vortex makes and I could have sworn it was called a Spitfire.
+Peter Duffy I've always tried to do that... I'd get bored talking about the specs, otherwise lol I'm glad that someone who knows their stuff, like Steve, was willing to chat with me and show me the ropes.
Justin Phillips my understanding is it is unconditional and not limited to the original owner. Only time heard talk of a reciept is if someone wanted a refund instead or repair or replacement.
Theirs actually only two things you need to know about tactical optics. One in general you get what you pay for, and two if the military is using it, it has been pretty well tested.
Vortex has great customer service. I called and ordered precision scope rings for my Vortex PST 6-24 scope. I wish I remembered the lady's name that helped me but she was on it. She got my order in and shipped quickly. Thank you Vortex!

+Smitty01z28 That's great to hear!
+Smitty01z28 I love to hear that ! Thank you posting.
Could not agree more.
+JBHickok I now have a Sparc II, crossfire 3-9x40, and a Viper PST 2.5-10! I've held true to my word so far!
Smitty01z28 -- After three returns of my 1-4x24x CrossfireII I complained that I had an inherently flawed scope and asked for a new one. They agreed, and it's performed perfectly. Great video I'm going to purchase my first AR I've narrowed it down to a BCM in 223/556 that I will need a scope for so far Vortex has my vote.
I have 2 Vortex scopes so far and I could not be happier! One is a SPARC AR red dot and the other is a Crossfire II dead hold bdc.
Been beating thru all the various scope manufacture's scope products, but this presentation has convinced me just go with Vortex for my first scope purchase because od their reputation AND WARRANTY.
Excellent presentation. One of the best descriptions of optic aspects that I have heard.

Thanks for the info, definitely gave me good info on scopes and what the differences are between some of them.
+Jeffrey Dees Happy to hear the optics points were helpful! I know I learned a great deal that trip.
Vortex is so great. I lost a screw on a magnifier I bought. Even just for that little screw they took the time to send me a new pair. They really do care, about their products, and about their customers.
Great video Dest. I learned a lot. And, the way you make interviews are the best.
Are not making video's anymore?
Very informative! I'm about ready to buy a Savage MK 2 22 bolt action rifle and will definitely be looking at Vortex Optics scopes. Nice job on the video and interview. Always good to see how a product comes together.
Great Video, one would wonder how much movement would be with 1 inch in moa and mrad.. I think mrad is close to 36MRAD same as 4MOA to = 1 Inch..

That VIP warranty is impressive. Cool outro too.
+shouldibehere I was impressed, too. o.0 And thank you.
Very well made video. Cuts/transitions/audio; top notch!

Great video good info and I like the ARX with a shorter barrel tho.
That was interesting. Veteran owned. i've got to try one of their scopes on my FN.
I was Already Looking for a Vortex optic for my AR-15, After this....I will be finding one without a doubt, From Vortex.
Great video. Any chance you would cover mil scope adjustments in more detail? Like why are they better? Great little scope lesson and really cool music at the end of the clip!
Where have you been Des? You've fallen of the face of the earth... or at least RUclips. We miss ya!

Always enjoyable to watch and informative at the same time.
I was wondering about parallax adjustments in rifle scopes. How does one know when to compensate for this?
Great Video, Great Info, and definetly will be buying Vortex Optics because of this video. Seems like a great company and love to see the quality control you guys provide and warranty offered.
Are you going to present a bunch of videos about Shot Show 2016?
Great break down. I have since learned this stuff, but this video would have been incredibly useful when I was buying my first few scopes. I think it will be valuable for many people.

My AR 15 has a fixed A2 front sight. If I mount a strike eagle scope will it clear the front sight
Hey Des and Steve...How does the inspection process and VIP warranty work for your products built overseas? I'm particularly interested in the Strike Eagle scope.
Great video and information. Well done.
+The Daily Shooter Thanks, on both counts... well, the credit for the info really goes to, Steve. Thanks, Steve! lol
Enjoyed the interview and learned a few things - thanks for putting it together
Picked up a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x30mm after watching this. My first scope worth over $50, seems like a good investment. Just waiting on my 10/22 to arrive to try it out
+Adam Forsberg Crosshair does look a little soft when zoomed in, but real world test will come with the new rifle
For the price point its hard to beat Vortex . I have two of them . Thanks guys !! Great video and Optics . Going to buy more . .....
Just bought ar15 thanks to your video will be looking into buy from you.
Very informative! This might have just sold me a Vortex scope! Great job!
did you stop doing videos? been a month...
Definitely an informative video. I absolutely Love my 3x9 Vortex Viper I have on my Browning X-Bolt .308. definitely a great combination.
What's your favorite sniper weapon?
good to see you back!
this was a very helpful video Destinee. thanks so much! and thanks to Vortex!!!
I am purchasing a Tikka 223 T3 lite for fox hunting in Oz. I am a whistler so can get running foxes coming in fast within 75m, but also want to be able to ping a fox that stops around 300m out. What would your recommendation in scope specifications be? thankyou
I had some knowledge of Vortex and my wife has a Crossfire II but your video gave me a lot more respect for Vortex.
Did you hit the distillery located around the corner??
Will you go to shot show this year ?
I discovered your channel just a couple of days ago. Glad I did. You've got some great videos.
+Michael De Santa Yo Mike are u gonna use the vortex scope on gangs and thugs since you discovered this channel.
Great video Destinee. It was very informative. Have you ever tried to contact NightForce and see if they would be willing to talk to you about their products also?
good to see you again Des. I'm gonna have to rewatch this vid after my 2nd cup of coffee so all this info sticks. lots a info to retain
+Midas Welby Much obliged! Yeah, I learned a lot... but I also got to put it into practice on the range, so that helped me remember more.
I have always liked vortex products.Great video D......
+PrepperKip Glad you liked the vid. I'm planning on more videos with Vortex down the road. Glad to know there will be others who dig that :]
Looking good Destinee! Great info video.
go to a store at dusk an ask to try out scopes. you'll see some are pitch black to look through. some are clear as a bell. try a IR and you'll see the difference between putting the cross hairs on a dark object with black cross hairs.
Great video girl!
+Mrgunsngear Channel Thanks much! :D
Very informative video.I have a vortex red sight
+sksman71 I'll have more videos on Vortex Optics down the road ;] Glad you enjoyed this one.
+Guns Gear & Fitness your welcome and sounds good.
Wow, awesome info on Mil/MOA, all makes sense, thank you
Good to see you back! Also, good to see you still blasting away with the Beretta ARX. How's it working out? What's the round count, so far?
+SP D Good to be back! The ARX is still running like a champ. I think I'm around the 1k round count with it, and don't think I've cleaned it but once.
This is good! I am curious on how carbon filled it has to be before it stops working? Is this just a test piece or is this going to be your go to rifle, when all is said and done?
P.S. Thank you for the reply!
+Guns Gear & Fitness tsk tsk tsk. :) I couldn't bring myself to do that personally.
this is a video i've been looking for. thx!
Thanks for the helpful vid Dest. Good job as always!
+Roy Parret Glad you dug the Vortex video. I'm definitely planning to work with them more ;]
I love my Vortex scope. Great quality glass.
+Wolfpak765 After getting some trigger time with them? I'd have to agree ;]
I dropped a Vortex 24x50 on my RPR....Gonna match(try) Lady Dee's 500yrd-5"plate.....Oye.
RPR = 6.5 Creedmoor...... if you wondering....
no more shot footage 2016?
why did you change from Fate of Destiny?

They say a lot about "lifetime warranty", but sites like www.optics-trade.eu/ mention a 10 years warranty. So the "lifetime warranty" is only for US customers or what?
very cool video love how your camra man focused on your tush at the beginning very nice. I'm gonna pick up two there scopes one for my model70 30-06 and one for my m1a. keep up the awsum vids.✌
+mohawksniper79 Hope the info was as helpful for some as it was for me. The more trigger time I get with Vortex Optics, the more I like them.
Vortex makes a great product, nice video Thanks
Vortex are on their social media game. All over EnglishShooter too
a tad off topic, but is it weird that my local hardware store has more guns than most gun shops? also, just bought my first henry lever gun...love this thing! :D
+intense_pickle Omg I want a Henry so bad! Love them.
they're smooth as butter :D picked one up this morning...saw the big boy...want that now ^_^
Destinee, what are your thoughts on the durability of Vortex's optics? Can it take the beating of an EoTech, Aimpoint or Trijicon?
I have an WASR-10 and a Yugo M77 in 308. I am deciding on a Vortex 1-6 power scopes for them or the old school, Eastern European optics made from metal. Both are comparable in price, Vortex has more modern features while the Eastern European optics have proven durability.
If Vortex optics can take a beating, I would go with them.
Primary Arms👍
+chrisloUSA Thus far, I've had no durability issues with any of my Vortex Optics. I currently run one of their Spitfires (the 3x), a Crossfire (4-24x), and a little Razor (reflex sight).
Guns Gear & Fitness Thanks for your input Destinee. By the way, is the Spitfire a prismatic optic? I remember looking at a prismatic Vortex makes and I could have sworn it was called a Spitfire.
Great video love my vortex scope. thanks for all the good information.
+Kollin Kirby My pleasure! I learned a ton from that visit. Glad the scope pointers were good info for others, too.
Nice vid, you have a nice way to get the info without it feeling like a spec book
+Peter Duffy I've always tried to do that... I'd get bored talking about the specs, otherwise lol I'm glad that someone who knows their stuff, like Steve, was willing to chat with me and show me the ropes.
About to buy me a vortex Diamondback 4-16×44 FFP!!
#6 I would say, How is your Budget for a scope.
I'm at the number of 18.000 viewers. Nice videos, keep up the goodwerk.
Good vid Destinee, thanks Steve.
+59BigWalt Thanks! I learned so much during that visit. :D Plus, got some fantastic trigger time. Thanks again, Steve!
does the warranty cover if i buy a used vortex scope and something happens to that?
Justin Phillips my understanding is it is unconditional and not limited to the original owner. Only time heard talk of a reciept is if someone wanted a refund instead or repair or replacement.
if the scope has a VIP WARRANTY then you will be good
we miss you. update us
Theirs actually only two things you need to know about tactical optics. One in general you get what you pay for, and two if the military is using it, it has been pretty well tested.
Great video as usual! SO helpful! I love the music as well! :)
3 months since the last Video?
Thx for the vid Des. Loved the musical section!

+intense_pickle I'm running the Vortex Spitfire (3x) on the Beretta ARX100 at the beginning of the video. I'm quite fond of it. :D
