@Nigel Molesworth I consider all chronographs to be too tacky and too busy for my taste. I rather value more simplicity and elegance. And this one somehow makes it ok, tho it would look much more classy if it wouldn't have those two pushers and internal dials... but then again, it wouldn't be a chronograph.
Interestingly enough, I think Amphibia’s are all being shipped with solid link bracelets now. I think they’re generic because there’s no branding, but one came on my Vostok 150366, even had a butterfly clasp on it.
I prefer the EQB-1100 series: very similar case, slightly better bracelet, decent lume, even better looking dial with large second hand (perfectly aligned) and more functionality with bluetooth connectivity, alarm and dual time.
You can see the charge anytime you want, just push and hold the reset button and the needle will move to the charge indicator the watch currently have, I think all the solar models from Casio and Edifice have it, and it's something i wish all the brands with solar power use
First "time" for everything.....see what I did there :-) I think this is the first time I disagree with you sir. I think the CasioOak that is going unnoticed is actually the Edifice EQB-1100DC-1AER. Its the next model up. I got mine a few months ago from the very relojesdemoda site you have cited! It was the only dealer I found that had them in stock at the time. Couldn't find one in the US at all! Took a while to make it to Oklahoma from Spain, but it's a beauty! Very thin at 8.9 mm and 124 g with all the links, it is very wearable. Its the dressiest watch I have in the collection and knowing it might be the only one in the US warms my heart, but I'd love to see it grow in popularity! Cheers!
This is a very nice watch and I am really loving how thin it is. Deal breaker for me is that I don't care for integrated cases. Like many of us, I have a box chock full of straps/bracelets that I enjoy swapping out with my watches.
Now this is a coincidence. I bought this watch last week. The S570D is the one shown in the video, the S570DB has a blue dial, and the S570DC has a copper coloured ring around the dial and accents on the dial and is about 15% more expensive than the other two models. I got the S570DC on sale, which was effectively the same price as the S570D.
I just bought one and I love it. It's feels like PP Nautilus and AP RO had a son. It's thin and sits nicely on my thin Asian wrist. I paid $220 for it in a Gshock shop. I don't mind the integrated bracelet at all.
I learned that the JDM version of this which has a model number of EFS-S570YD-1AJF has a much better solid links bracelet. So, I just ordered one on eBay from Japan. Fingers crossed it will be as good as advertised.
Why are they comfortable? They dangle around cheaply with a lot of play between the links. I like the sturdyness of solid links, because it feels good and stable for an Everyday-Rocker
Pretty sold on this one! My main gripe with actual “Casi-Oak” is the lack of solar power, and I’ve always considered picking up an Edifice so I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for one of these via the usual suspects. The rolled links are a pity but mightn’t be a deal breaker for me.
It's a stunner. I really hope this watch becomes popular enough for aftermarket bracelets and straps. I'd buy it in a second with solid links, but my arms are way too hairy for rolled
These are the highest quality 50-100-200 USD watches on the market right now. They have more up-front presence than any fashion watch of equivalent price, and underneath they have good quality internals. I mean, let's have a look at probably the most expensive Edifice - the EQB-1100DC-1AER (400 USD). It's got stainless steel construction, solar charging, bluetooth connectivity, phone location, sapphire glass, dual time, etc... and there are more functions to discover if you "dig in a bit".
Very nice indeed. I'm not a big fan of the Casioak - hate things that are overyhyped, normally disappointed when I get in hand. This edifice is great - just wish they'd sort out the branding, looks cluttered on the dial. Thanks for the amazing review!
@Nigel Molesworth Define cheap ? My solar sapphire Chrono keeps great time and has taken some serious punishment. The worst being dropped out of a first floor window.
I agree, all the haters would gladly pay twuce as much for a seiko with an accurate solar movement and saphire crystal with a bracelet that is just as bad.Or even more if it had a non hacking ,non hand wind automatic that wouldn't keep accurate time.
I have the EQB-1100D-1AER which is almost identical but also has Bluetooth connectivity. This is my first Edifice and I'm pretty impressed with quality and technology they cram for a relatively low cost.
Nothing to hate with Casio. Good work JOMW. Please review more Casio edifice and enticer. They also have a Casio's take of Navitimer MTP-320D. I own one and it's pretty good
Ordered both this and the efr s108. Ended up returning the latter and keeping this. The finishing is impeccable and the chronograph is fun all day. I use it regularly for workouts. It's a pity this wasn't a bit smaller or as small as the efr s108. Would've been the ultimate watch. The bracelet doesn't bother me so much.
I could really do without the screws or the pointless fan dial thing on the left, I'd prefer the date to be at three and if you can't replace the bracelet, it better be decent. Too bad, it's almost amazing
the rubber oak let me down not cause its ruber but it has no solar or rc nothing. this one comes closer to my standards with full metal as a neat bonus and id be willing to skip rc long as its accurate enough. japanese quartz should be no doubt. thank you man for bringing this to my attention and have a preem day
Another great video, Jody. If you’re looking for video ideas, in addition to Lum wars, how about bracelet wars? A lot of us will only wear one if it’s comfortable.
A lot of the newest Edifices have the octagonal case and look like Royal Oaks, more so than the G-Shock Casioak. I would rather have one of these slim Edifices, as the GShock is too bulky. In my opinion, however, there are 2 Edifice models that are even cooler than the Royal Oak inspired ones: the EFR-S107D-1AVUEF/EFR-S107L-1AVUEF and the EFR-S567D-1AVUEF; These are Hublot Fusion/Big-Bang inspired designs, with round bezels, decorative screws on the front and Sapphire crystals. The 2 best parts about them: the price (EFR-S107L-1AVUEF is 60 USD right now, EFR-S567D-1AVUEF is 80 USD) and standard 20/22mm lugs. I personally have the EFR-S107L-1AVUEF, I replaced the leather strap with a Black Milanese Loop band (15USD) and it is a stunner!
Anyone notice that Seiko pressed clasps actually look good and other brands really do look cheap. Seiko does a complicated forming on the clasp and the halves of the clasps fit inside each other. Actually a Seiko pressed clasp is more impressive engineering than a machines clasp.
Luckily as someone blessed OR cursed with no arm hair. I have no idea what you're talking about when you often complain about cheap bracelets clipping off your arm hairs...But amazing looking watch.
The reason the "screws" are aligned is because they're not screws, they're decorative. The case is a single unit and they're obviously not holding the bezel on Any "screws" that line up are decorative only; the bits that do the actual tightening, as on a Royal Oak or a Bell & Ross, is at the back. And they're never lined up. Frankly I expected a bit more!
More so than any conventional watch, an integrated bracelet model lives or dies on the quality of the bracelet, for obvious reasons. Totally agree that the watch head looks fantastic. But living with it day-to-day will unfortunately bring the severely compromised bracelet into sharp (dare I say: painful?) relief. A handsome watch brings me no enjoyment if I can't stand to wear it on wrist. A bit of a missed opportunity here; I was really hoping this model might finally be the Casio that gains entry into my collection. Excellent video as always.
I wish this came in a slightly more vintage looking chronograph. I'm not a huge fan of how the middle dial looks like a speedometer in a car dash. But I suppose its a motorsports inspired design so fair call for them. I would almost buy this.
Explain if you will why solid, heavy links are better than rolled, lighter links? I have the EFR-S-108D with rolled links and the bracelet is beautiful and light.
Hello, I recently purchased the CASIO EQS-900DB-2AVUDF, which is solar-powered. I'm curious if there might be any potential issues with the battery in the future. Have you encountered any problems while using this solar-powered watch?
An attractive watch!! That bracelet though. It's important that a watch with an integrated bracelet should have good solid links and a milled clasp. Better to charge the extra 30 or 40 usd on it and make it look and feel better.
The regular version of this without the sub dials is really good looking too just wish it had a better bracelet. I think it’s the efr s108?? Something like that. Great review!
Just a tip. Why watch reviewers fail to put the model name and number somewhere in the description is beyond me. Its not just your channel but so many more as though they want to keep it a secret so now I have to go back to the beginning of the video to find out what this watch is, however you did manage to mention the GA2100 which of course is not the featured watch! Just a ti, as the video is very good.
The EFS-S570DC is ion plated and costs $50 more. The 'C' here indicates this. There's a version of these with solid links and milled clasps, only sold in Asia. It has an added 'Y' in the name to indicate this. EFS-S570YD and EFS-S570YDC.
I wish Casio would stop announcing all the features of their watches on the dial or case. Most watches are a bit guilty of unnecessary text on the front, but Casio is a prime offender in my book. Dial would be way better minus the "Sapphire" and "Solar Powered" text.
I have a similar model from Casio with the same bracelet, is there any replacement after market bracelet for it? Or at least an option to change the clasp?
Hi, I ordered a EFR-S108D. Hard to find in the States. Ordered from overseas last month, still have not received. I had the g shock casioak but sold it. Looking forward to this one.
Bought mine after checking your vid haha. No complaints on the watch, not even on the bracelet but do wish that there is an aftermarket solid link bracelet as an option
Sorry Jody, I'll stay with all my GA-2100. Lighter weight, backlight, carbon core g-shock protection, non worry of scuffed case or strap, 200m water resistances and on and on. Plus cost less money to purchase!
PSA you mentioned Masters in time, they are your go to guys for seiko OEM bracelets and straps, I've had no end of bullshit from seiko Australia, Japan and USA trying to get OEM bracelets (cost, won't ship out of region etc)get on their website, punch in the numbers on the back of your watch and up comes a list of original bracelets and others that will fit, decent price and pretty quick shipping, Holland to Australia in about a week
Happy weekend, Nice review thanks Jody as always, much appreciated. It looks nice. I like it too. Thoughts on perhaps notching out a decent leather strap? Or measure the lugs outer/inner/thickness to see what solid bracelet could possibly fit.? Lot of trouble for a Casio but it looks cool, I like what it offers. It seems mod-worthy at some level, if a 2100 is. For the really adventurous maybe hit that dial and hands with some decent lume?
Jody! Please take a look at the Casio SW330! I bought one last year and the first time I saw it in person my first thought was that this is an AP Royal Oak wannabe. Btw that introduced me to the Casio sweep/swipe second line (SW300-3XX). They tick 4 times per sec although they have quartz movements and they are quite cheap.
Can you even put an aftermarket bracelet on this thing? If they had a normal lug width on it, the stock bracelet wouldn't matter so much. Why would they do that?
Jody, you got it wrong with this one, you should've picked up the EFRS108 - the real Casioak. 39.5mm, three hander with date at 3 and even slimmer then this chrono model. Perhaps in a future video? 😁
casio really have the line-up for every budgets, f91 for those that just want to know time; Edifice, Linage and base G-shocks for midrange; G-shocks MR-G and Oceanus for the high end.
Very nice looking, but how did the date window not get any mention in the “moans and niggles” section (or at all)? It took me 8 minutes before I realized it had a date function, and even then I could barely read it.
Very good looking! But they could've put led light since the Lume quality is very low. I wonder though how this could look more better with brown or black leather straps
i have a ef527 i love the thing i matched it to my promaster skyhawk "bought both used from my local pawn shop" and the casio keeps time perfect the second hand hits the index marks as good as the duro. casio is not the watch to go against and i have only one complaint, and that's the red second hand in the bottom subdial, it looks like someone didn't want to work hard and just stuck a second hand from a g-shock in it. other than that and the bracelet which i immediately removed and replaced with a nato strap i can't wear metal straps because i work outside and they get hot and leather starts to stink after being sweated on for 8 hours a day 6 days a week i love the thing
Great review of this wee belter Jody. On a different subject entirely, has the time not finally arrived to include some reviews of smartwatches on the channel? I may be mistaken, bit I don't think you've ever reviewed a smartwatch? My wife has just taken delivery of two Chinese cheapos - more or less chosen at random, since neither of the two of us knows anything about them at this point. I didn't expect to be so pleasantly surprised with them as I actually was. This smartwatch concept has come a long way since their initial introduction and therefore, even as a mechanical watch geek, I think it's now time to take them a bit more seriously than has been the case in the past. Although very inexpensive at around $50 US or thereabouts, both of them look so cool that I reckon they've got hypothermia, have extremely good-looking and swap-able dials (via software) and are nicely built with equally cool-looking watch-band designs. Maybe try a cheapo from Aliexpress just for a giggle? You might well be pleasantly surprised. Keep safe and well down there in Oz.
It’s a nice watch! Too bad about the bracelet. If companies are going to put a sub-par bracelet on a watch, they should at least make it non-integrated, so it can be replaced!
I'm seeing a purple dial version of this that looks absolutely phenomenal, if only it came with a better bracelet. Maybe there's something aftermarket but I doubt it.
I would like to thank you for inspiring me to finally set my G2100 to the right time after leaving it for a few months after the clocks went forward to BST. Great review!
Been a G Shock Lover since the 90s and Ridiculed Over loving Them since then. These Edifice and Casioaks With proper Metal bands and bezels are Beautiful and Sophisticated pieces
Nice elegant watch indeed wears much smaller than is...i like slim design, bracelet is just fine, could be better, no other complains, just go for it without regrets...
This is a proof to me that Casio can do everything. This is the only chronograph I've ever seen I could consider wearing.
I though that until I tried the new 2021 Tudor....
@Nigel Molesworth my hands are constantly in water. No. I wouldn't chance a speedy. The Tudor is rated at 200m
@@damyr There are some wonderful minimalist, tasteful chronos out there. Check out the Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope!
No Daytonas for you! 😂
The Casio Edifice Efr-s108d-1avudf is a better option if you want a simpler option. Even smaller at 40mm. I have it and love it!
Good call!
Agree and wish it is a solar powered watch like this chronograph
But that is a battery powered quartz, this is a solar one and this one is just larger by 0.5mm
Where did you get it from Arnav? It's unavailable here in India... I'm from Kolkata. Can you please share?
Sabyasachi Das yes I searched it everywhere 🥲
Really happy to see an Edifice on here. Please cover more.
Yes V! I'm finally getting into them.
Vostok would be jealous of that bracelet!!
Hahahha! Touche Scott!
And Seiko !
Just bought my first Vostok, bought a replacement strap before even seeing how bad that provided bracelet is
This is probably the only case, when Vostok bracelet can compete.
Interestingly enough, I think Amphibia’s are all being shipped with solid link bracelets now. I think they’re generic because there’s no branding, but one came on my Vostok 150366, even had a butterfly clasp on it.
The hardest part about loving a JOMW review is that the watch you want magically increases in price as soon as you look
Casio has so many excellent watches in so many different styles and price points ,you could review them all and I would never get bored.
The bracelet isn't great but it wasn't a deal breaker for me, it's so comfortable it's become my go to watch most days.
Can be sized?
I prefer the EQB-1100 series: very similar case, slightly better bracelet, decent lume, even better looking dial with large second hand (perfectly aligned) and more functionality with bluetooth connectivity, alarm and dual time.
The alignment on that tiny small seconds is bang on. Wow!
Edifice watches are really underrated IMHO
@Nigel Molesworth Define cheap ? My solar sapphire Chrono keeps great time and has taken some serious punishment. The worst being dropped out of a first floor window.
Underrated. Maybe that’s because the strap is integrated ... and to add insult to insult, rolled steel!!!! Piece of crap.

EFS-S570YD and additional letters, for example EFS-S570YD-1AJF
1:38. it's quite simple. EFSS570D-1A and EFSS570DC-1A are separate models. EFSS570DC-1A is DLC or PVD coated, that's why is more expensive.

, I would love to change the bracelet on a strap, is there any way to do it? I can't find any adapters to it.
More Edifice reviews pleaaaaase...
I vaguely remember someone saying the “design feature for 2021” will be integrated bracelets 🤔……..🤪👍
I would also recommend the Casio Beside collection. Several hidden gems. More dressy watches, but many terrific options.
Would the non solar version without the 4 screws be worth getting? Since it seems to be the only version that is readily available
Hi there watch friends... another like and comment to feed the algorithm.
The new carbon Cassios are neat too...especially the military colours.
OUUU loved these! Always love talking Casio!
Watch royalty in the house 🙃🙌🏾
casio really have the line-up for every budgets, f91 for those that just want to know time; Edifice, Linage and base G-shocks for midrange; G-shocks MR-G and Oceanus for the high end.
Would like to know your opinion of the older brother of this watch which is Edifice EFR S567D-1AV
Very nice looking, but how did the date window not get any mention in the “moans and niggles” section (or at all)? It took me 8 minutes before I realized it had a date function, and even then I could barely read it.
Very good looking! But they could've put led light since the Lume quality is very low. I wonder though how this could look more better with brown or black leather straps
id get a 24 or whatever mm silicone strap and tryto cut the end to fit the case. other than the bracelet-clasp, its pretty damn good looking.
i have a ef527 i love the thing i matched it to my promaster skyhawk "bought both used from my local pawn shop" and the casio keeps time perfect the second hand hits the index marks as good as the duro. casio is not the watch to go against and i have only one complaint, and that's the red second hand in the bottom subdial, it looks like someone didn't want to work hard and just stuck a second hand from a g-shock in it. other than that and the bracelet which i immediately removed and replaced with a nato strap i can't wear metal straps because i work outside and they get hot and leather starts to stink after being sweated on for 8 hours a day 6 days a week i love the thing
Keep safe and well down there in Oz.
would love to see a review on the Edifice EFR-S108D!
It’s a nice watch! Too bad about the bracelet. If companies are going to put a sub-par bracelet on a watch, they should at least make it non-integrated, so it can be replaced!
I had seen and been keen on this solar model months ago but couldn’t seem to track it down. Jody does it again!
great job from France 🇫🇷 💪
Without this bracelet and with a black silicone, this watch would be very impressive for that price !
Unfortunately, I didn’t found a such bracelet. Casio bracelets’ are special and not commun. (Sorry for my basic english.)
If I can read the time on the watch even on the wrist in the intro - I know I'm gonna like it.
There’s also the EFS-S560D which looks real nice in blue! Edifice nailed the new designs
Ya bro
Your back wall is looking too good 🔥🔥🔥
I'm seeing a purple dial version of this that looks absolutely phenomenal, if only it came with a better bracelet. Maybe there's something aftermarket but I doubt it.
I just got the Armand Nicolet j09 -3 chrono in grey for peanuts & it’s thee best looking watch iv ever purchased it’s Genta inspired , it’s ibeutiful
Can you swap out the bracelet for a different bracelet? Or nato/leather?
Saturday morning, coffee and a new watch I will inevitability want to buy. Perfection 👌
I would like to thank you for inspiring me to finally set my G2100 to the right time after leaving it for a few months after the clocks went forward to BST. Great review!
Looks great, don’t like push on back, pressed clasp and poor lume, but I do like sapphire and solar.
