- Helmholtz coils are devices that can generate a magnetic field that can be fully controlled: direction and magnitude. In the context of CubeSat design, they allow us to test subsystems: magnetorquers (attitude control actuator), magnetometers (sensors), control algorithms, etc. In this video, I show how we made our 3D magnetic simulation environment.
