The plot looks great Tony, I can appreciate all the hard work you’ve put in over the winter. Have a productive season mate ,looking forward to watching your next video.
A great tour Tony! You have been very busy by the looks of it. Everything is looking great. Great job with the shed, looks amazing! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the pond area 😊
Thank you for being so open and honest with this tour. Gardening is not always perfect shots of lush elegantly sculpted gardens ready for the cover of leading gardening magazines. Building and/or reconstructing with used materials, cleaning out existing beds and constructing new ones is messy, so thank you for showing the true picture. My wife and I live in the northeastern area Oklahoma, USA but enjoy your channel so much. While our climates may be different your principles of gardening are transcending of those differences. I received your book yesterday and have already began to enjoy the wealth of knowledge it holds. Heading out to the garden to employ what I see in this book. Thank you, keep it up.
Thanks for such a great comment. I am a firm believer of showing folks as it is. Thanks for buying the book, you helped it get to No1 Best Seller in less than 24 hours :)
I have seen most of your old build projects Tony and I think we all change something as we go along getting ready for retirement or when our bodies says no.....😂. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.
Wow Tony , I’ve been wondering what you’ve been up to , what a lot of work you’ve done, it all looks amazing can’t wait to see how the season goes for you . Hope your health is better now too .❤️
Great to see an update, Tony. You're making quite a few areas look way nicer than they did and still managing to create new garden beds. I'm very envious of the growing space and materials you've gathered there. You're an inspiration to many of us growers. I'm moving again, so down to a stack of rescued plants in pots. My plan for this year is to get 3 8x4ft raised beds filled and growing plus get my poor potted fruit trees in the ground. The rest can come later. Cheers!
I've been watching your videos for years and over that time Tony you really have brought so many lovely postive changes to your plot. Your fruit trees really have established now and its lovely to see you with a polytunnel, I remember watching your videos of you growing plants in your big shed with lots of glass windows . If i remember correctly you had a tree or wasit grapes? growing in their as well. Its always a pleasure to watch your videos and i look forward to seeing your new pond and chicken house 😊.

Hopefully the list will start growing again, We have had a lot of people leave this year due to old age who have been here for years and can no longer manage, some had a lot of land so it swallowed the list up quickly
Wow I got tired just watching! I can't imagine doing so many projects at one time. You're a wealth of knowledge and have a great garden. And you're a trooper too .. saw you on Scott's Monday video and you sounded really sick. Keep going and good luck. Great vid Tony. It's nice to see others with lots to do like us. Our first metal raised bed arrived today I was confused to measurements 😂 i know not hard to confuse me. Lisa asked a few months ago if I could change the beds for higher ones as she was struggling low down.. So the first one is to go in a blank place one bed has been ripped out to move the greenhouse, the other 11 main beds are next. Unfortunately we have no choice but to disturb the soil. The tire wall is been ripped out which shes really mad about. The chicken pen and run has to be moved and rebuilt along with needing to re-cover the polytunnel. Then the fish pond, decking and she wants a bed for wild flower medicinal plants for homemade remedies she wants to attempt.. I've prayed for a few rain free days 😂😂. Miss bossy boots doesnt want much 😂😂😂
@@simplifygardening most definitely. May I ask how tall are your metal beds? Do you think I'd be ok drilling some additional holes and attaching a post from the inside or should I leave the post standing in soil within the bed? I've gone with 77cm tall and different length beds but need to add some sort of posts and trellis to all beds. I've already filled the first using the hugel method. Incredible and inspirational. Thanks Tony. I’d be interested to see how you built your fruit cage - the metal ones I’ve seen before look too flimsy to withstand the weather but yours looks substantial
Spot on with the Green Manures and the future growth, however down in Mild Devon mine have also suffered worse than previous years, I suspect its the constant wet weather as we have had much less frost. Thanks very much Tony. I'm moving to Serbia in a year or two and will have an acre or so. Your videos are great . I hope to grow a bit of everything including swedes which aren't common there. I also want to grow some Carolina reaper chillies, have you tried growing them at all? The main farming crop is corn. I have no experience at all growing anything so don't know what to do about adding or using fertilisers of any kind of any bugs to watch out for from the corn. They have no cows here either so manure is hard to come by.
Is there a video showing the hoops for the beds they look amazing. I need something similar to prevent the snow crushing my bed covers ( I live in Lithuania so we gat a fair bit at times) your garden looks good keep it up
They are old head rest and footers to real steel framed beds. They were removed from our fire station when new beds were installed so I had them to repurpose them in the garden
Loved the tour Tony x. Can you tell me how you stop the water from getting contaminated please? I have barrels to catch water but the water stagnates so i cant use it for my seedlings.
What a fascinating tour! Can you recommend a website where I could buy some of those IBC’s Tony? I think an allotment being self sufficient in water is the ultimate goal. Thanks for sharing.
Hey tony, Glad your doing well. I was wondering how the allotment system in England works. I'm prepping for a conversation with my County representative here in New York State, to talk about how to perhaps look to creating larger allotment systems.
There are 3 types of allotment. council-owned and run, association-run and privately run. As a rule, You pay a set amount per year and have to grow on 75% of the land. Each one has their own rules dependent on the council or committee that runs the site
Tony, you said that plastic lining on your compost bins had degraded. Ive used the exact same material on my bins last 12 months. Would you consider this might add micro plastics to the compost? Great to follow you and thanks for all the advice.
No when i say degraded it splits cause becomes weak it doesnt break into tiny bits. im every open upn here so it gets hammered and it still lasted 6 years
So much work but it looks great, thank you for sharing. If I can ask, did you made the half circular, black, metal, support for the mesh, it looks just the right size. Thank you.
Good to see you making videos fella i was wondering what was happening. You certainly have mayhem going on there at the moment lol im gonna have to look into an allotment..
Ah well those of us who been following you a while knew you were having some sort of issues. Just didn't want to pry. Just glad your still going fella.
I have a question I am growing secound early potoes this year and like to keep some for seed for next year, now can I plant the crop and harvest which I am hoping for mid June, and keep some back for seed and say come the end of July plant the potoes I have kept for seed and harvest in October for next year seed. Or can I just keep the seed potoes that I harvest in June until next year
I don't think RUclips likes me, as they removed my perfectly innocent comment. All I said was "Good to see you back Tony. I was becoming concerned." Great update BTW.
Dolly 99.5% of the work is me. but if i need an extra pair of hands with lift boards or heavy things Ill give my brother or tina a shout. but the garden. is me
I also wondered who “we” was. 😀 Your gardens look amazing! You’re an inspiration for sure Tony. Did you give up on the bees? I saw your bee video where people stole your bees. Can’t wait to see more videos. Thanks Tony!
Its all about placement and activity. if you are regulary around those beds they will never come to them, i place the compost bays next to the path for that very reason

Hi Norman, they are bed headers and footers from old steel bed frames, they are perfect for netting and plastic when the garden requires

They went into a large bucket to rot down and the water will be used to water the compost so the nutrients are not lost

Is there a video showing the hoops for the beds they look amazing. I need something similar to prevent the snow crushing my bed covers ( I live in Lithuania so we gat a fair bit at times) your garden looks good keep it up
They are old head rest and footers to real steel framed beds. They were removed from our fire station when new beds were installed so I had them to repurpose them in the garden
would love to see how you've set up your IBC's etc.
Thats coming in the next few weeks. I have planned that video
Loved the tour Tony x. Can you tell me how you stop the water from getting contaminated please? I have barrels to catch water but the water stagnates so i cant use it for my seedlings.
Volume plays a part but because things are linked together the water is always moving and this prevents the stagnation
What a fascinating tour! Can you recommend a website where I could buy some of those IBC’s Tony? I think an allotment being self sufficient in water is the ultimate goal. Thanks for sharing.
I get them from Market Place so should be plenty around you
Hey tony, Glad your doing well.
Waw you've been buisy Tony great video mate 👍
Thanks 👍 abd very busy lol
nice one it was a lot done recantly
Yeah loads of work completed
@@simplifygardening well done cant wait to see full bloom and ervest tour
Tony, you said that plastic lining on your compost bins had degraded. Ive used the exact same material on my bins last 12 months. Would you consider this might add micro plastics to the compost? Great to follow you and thanks for all the advice.
No when i say degraded it splits cause becomes weak it doesnt break into tiny bits. im every open upn here so it gets hammered and it still lasted 6 years
So much work but it looks great, thank you for sharing. If I can ask, did you made the half circular, black, metal, support for the mesh, it looks just the right size. Thank you.
No they are old bed head board and foot boards from steel framed bed when the fire service changed the beds years ago they were donated to me to reuse
I like your new shed Tony. Do you have help with all that is going on?
Thanks Patrick. No i do it alone, but i get my brother of wife to help me with lifts that are two people required
I have to do my compost bin too
Get it done Sarah u gonna need it
What did you use to build it mines now dismantled full of wet rot 5 year old
It's on 20:10 in Sweden, but no chat.
Hmm try rebooting it RUclips been having some issues tonight it was over an hour late and they cancelled the premier and just made it live

Thanks
Its quite a large to-do list. I'm intimidated. But its a beautiful garden!
I have all year to work through the list
I think that shed makes a great bunkhouse and you could rent it out to hill walkes Tony😁.
lol will certainly be handy to be able to use now
@@simplifygardening Start an Allotment
B and B and call it O'Neills luxury lodge 😁👍.
Good to see you making videos fella i was wondering what was happening. You certainly have mayhem going on there at the moment lol im gonna have to look into an allotment..
Yes tons and if folks could see behind the scenes of my life they would understand the break lol
Ah well those of us who been following you a while knew you were having some sort of issues. Just didn't want to pry. Just glad your still going fella.
I have a question I am growing secound early potoes this year and like to keep some for seed for next year, now can
I plant the crop and harvest which I am hoping for mid June, and keep some back for seed and say come the end of
July plant the potoes I have kept for seed and harvest in October for next year seed. Or can I just keep the seed potoes
that I harvest in June until next year
Yes providing you don’t have any disease they will keep fine for seed
I'm being smothered by snow. Still 50 cms deep, but looks like melting a bit now.
We are due some too
i can see why you are widely regarded world wide credit where due
Thank you, I really appreciate that
I don't think RUclips likes me, as they removed my perfectly innocent comment.
All I said was "Good to see you back Tony. I was becoming concerned."
Great update BTW.
It ended up in my spam along with about 50 others, Ive just gone through it and ok them that are not rude and am now answering them.
@@simplifygardening No worries. YT appears to be getting paranoid of late with it's censorship algorithm.
Where have you been Tony
I was taking the time to finish writing my new book
👍
I don't know how you do it, not feeling 100%, got a job and this massive garden area would put me 6 feet under.
Just got to keep working on something I guess. Better to do it now while I can in it?
Maybe it's 1:30 Tony's time?
Sorry guys RUclips have struck again and the video is still processing. I am hoping it will be available at 7.30pm UK time
Tony, when you say "we" who is working with you?
Dolly 99.5% of the work is me. but if i need an extra pair of hands with lift boards or heavy things Ill give my brother or tina a shout. but the garden. is me
I also wondered who “we” was. 😀 Your gardens look amazing! You’re an inspiration for sure Tony. Did you give up on the bees? I saw your bee video where people stole your bees. Can’t wait to see more videos. Thanks Tony!
How do you keep rats out of the garden beds and digging tunnels to getvunder the beds
Its all about placement and activity. if you are regulary around those beds they will never come to them, i place the compost bays next to the path for that very reason
