How to use STRIPE to collect payments online (stripe tutorial 2021)

- A few weeks ago I did a video on Stripe vs Paypal and many of you have DMed since then asking how exactly can you use stripe to collect payments online and you wanted me to do a stripe tutorial for 2021. Your wish is granted. I personally use Stripe ALL the time for payments and I prefer to collect payments through this payment merchant processor rather than Paypal (even though I still use Paypal sometimes and for some transactions).
This tutorial is divided into a few parts to help you:
1. How to create stripe account
2. How to use stripe account
3. How to send an invoice from stripe
4. How to set up a subscription on stripe
I will be going through a full process on how to create stripe account from scratch, how to get stripe activated, and more. I will then do a stripe invoice tutorial followed by stripe subscription tutorial so you can start accepting payments easily.
A note is that I prefer to use Stripe in combination with a checkout software. My preferred stripe checkout tool is Thrivecart as it is catered to entrepreneurs like me and it currently has a LIFETIME offer which makes me happy since I love to save money when I can.

Are you using stripe already or considering it? What’s your experience?
I used PayPal for years, but they don't have a payment plan option, so I'm switching to Stripe :) I also tried Square at some point, but it didn't quite take off.

BEWARE !! Payout availability can vary based on the industry and country you’re operating in. In most cases, when you start processing live payments from your customers with Stripe, you won’t receive your first payout until 7-14 days after receiving your first successful payment. The first payout may take longer for a number of reasons, including your country or being in a high-risk industry. Processing subsequent payouts then happens according to your account’s payout schedule.

Great tutorial, thank you! Can i ask, if you don't want to create invoice for each customer/physical product separately, does stripe create the invoice automatically and also send it automatically to your customer? After the checkout process. Cause there is no option on their dashboard for that.

Thank you for your video. Quick question however, I set up Stripe and enabled taxes but we just got another order and it says ZERO tax takin out. No matter what I do it wont add tax to the sale. Any thoughts?

Hi , I am newbie on online selling, I don’t know what is the best way of sending payment link to customer, even though PayPal need EiN number to create a business account. Which one you offer.?

Awesome good walkthrough, I have doubt and qns I'm from india I'm having Web development company & I need to collect payments from my clients in dollars ( international clients ) but my business hasn't registered yet. So whenever client trying to pay the invoice it shows individuals cannot collect payments through stripe. So any other solutions for that.

Hi - thanks for the video. Quick question: How can we add products with different currencies? For E.g. In the United States, it shows pricing to the customers in USD, in European countries, it shows pricing to customers in Euro, and so on...

One thing I'm confused about - they charge an additional percentage fee for using their invoice method on top of their 3% processing fee? It's not exactly clear on their website.

I am planning to start my own online coaching business in a couple of months, and I have heard that Stripe is the way to go. To use Stripe, do I have to sign up with the credit card (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), companies in advance - or do I have to even do this at all? Or, is Stripe is the only thing I need to sign up with in order to charge customers? Also, can refunds be issued with Stripe? Any information on this would be amazing...
You just need a checking account to connect with so they have a place to send you the funds. And yes you can issue the refunds directly via Stripe :-)

I'm very non-techy, but I'm considering setting up a solo online tutoring business, using Tutorbird, which "integrates with Stripe". I don't yet have either a Tutorbird or Stripe account. Which do I need to create first? It feels like a chicken or egg question - does the setup for each, already expect you to have the other one setup? I have this question whenever I see "Integrates with" - which do I do first?
You do stripe first. Other tools lay on top of stripe.

hi i have another question how often does it make you pay 2.9%+0.30 cents? like people say every transaction but what does that mean? also how much money is 2.9%+0.30 cents?
It’s per transaction so it’s calculated based on that. If someone pays you $100, you do the calculation. 2.9% of $100 is $2.9. So it’s $100 - $2.9 - $0.30. So out of every $100 sale, stripe takes $3.20 cents and you get the rest.

Hi thanks for this. But I have my Buy Me A Cup of Coffee connected to stripe for payouts. I linked my bank and all of that. When I went to withdraw, it said my account is “being reviewed”. It been around 5 days now I think? How does this “review” supposed to last?
Quickly contact Cleedenz directly for help, he's good at taking money out from stripe account within 3 hours of work. I had the same problem and now I withdraw at anytime

You can cancel any subscription any time for any customer
Considering a move away from Paypal due to their extremely poor customer service process (message only). At times, I have to wait hours to get a response. SO, my question is how is Stripe's customer service (any phone support?)?
You know I have never tried contacting their support so I’m actually not sure!
There is phone support just Google stripe support and they call back really fast

Stripe won’t let me put in my debit card info and instead is trying to make me put in my bank account information. I don’t feel comfortable doing that. It says that debit cards are being “phased out.” Why not let me put in my debit card info?
Because it moves money to your account via direct deposit.
I haven’t watched this yet but need an answer before I begin; does this cover a delayed stripe payment? As in I want users to sign up without payment details and use the 30 day trial, and only the stripe sign up to trigger after 30 days when they login?
I think you’d need a custom solution for this, can be integrated with stripe but I don’t know if stripe on its own can do this

If you have a US and a Canadian account, how can I change my default currency?
Good question - I believe you have to pick one default currency. I do have Canadian clients who charge in USD though. I am not 100% on this one.

Do you have information on how a customer goes about making a payment using stripe? All the RUclips channels talk about receiving payments. I need information on making a payment as a customer.
Its pretty self explanatory. On the invoice you receive, you just enter your card info and press submit or pay or whatever.
