  • FEMA estimates that 30-40% of people didn't evacuate because they stayed with their pets. After Katrina, Congress passed the PETS Act, which authorizes FEMA to rescue, shelter and care for people with pets and service animals.

I say God blessed us with dogs and cats, and those same animals take care of us . So in return we need to look out for our animals!!! So thank you to those of you who help support the ASPCA and to those of you who help volunteer your time thank you. God bless you all .

I went down to help after Katrina and the devastation was incredible. I have never seen anything like it. It is scarred in my memory of a farmer going through his field with a tractor picking up cows and livestock killed during the hurricane. He was crying as he put all the animals in a pile to dispose of. I’ll never forget that.

600,000 killed if that doesn't break your heart then you don't have a heart! I wouldn't evacuate during Hurricane Florence as I had no way to take my dog with me so I stayed put and thankfully where my home is we were ok. People that leave their pets caged or tied up should be jailed and heavily fined!!

Thank you Jesus for putting a heart in the government. No pets left behind. They are our furry family. They depend 100% on us to provide for them. It's sad that the owners did not come back for their baby but I'm sure there are good reasons. God Bless all the animals in time of need and the rescue organizations for all their tiredless efforts in putting those babies in a safe place.
