What a beautiful story, and the pig and his owner, and all the good people who were there to help. This renews my faith in humanity. What love.
Yes Godbless💚💚
This owner with his piggy made me really happy, he did not want to leave his baby behind, this is an amazing owner, Nothing Else Matters you're right you can rebuild everything you cannot bring back your loved one
I know. He was told he had to leave that day no matter what. It was a blessing to get that call.
There was at least one more great pig rescue that I remember seeing during Katrina. This other pig that I watched being rescued was not shy or frightened the way that Rooty was. She pranced straight down the steps of her home, in the pricey Audubon district of New Orleans, and stepped confidently on to a Humane Society skiff. She looked as if she knew that that water taxi had been sent specifically to whisk her to safety, and it had been, of course! Thank you to the HSUS, SPCA, IFAW, the Cajun Navy, and all volunteers who helped to rescue our animal companions during the devastation of Katrina!
Thank you to everyone who treats animals with sincerity ~ I wish you a safe, healthy and happy life
Oh my God I can't believe there angels like this man who wouldn't leave his pot belly in the south this story is restoring my faith. You know he was sincere when he said he could deal with the water, losing the house but not his little girl. Thank you also rescuers for helping you are the true heros who will be blessed writing this as I'm crying.
And may God bless you too, sister, for your loving and caring thoughts.
I really admire people doing rescue not only for human but also animals..
❤ auch wenn es schon lange her ist ,ich danke allen die diesen armen Tieren geholfen haben!!!!DANKE !!!!❤❤
This is such a great post. I would NEVER leave my dog. She is my baby. People that leave their pets should at least leave the door(s) open so they have a fighting chance. Animals know where to go sometimes before the storm. They can sense weather.
Since they found statistically that a lot of people died in hurricane katrina because they refused to evacuate and leave their animals behind, states have now put bills in place that coordinate animal evacuation with humans. Some states now recognize and count animals as a family member during evacuation.
@@AccidentallyOnPurpose when there was a flood in Texas, a busload if refugees and their pets arrived in Iowa.
Texas officials let people take their pets, because of what happened in New Orleans.
Many people left big signs written on their houses about pets inside.
"Animals know where to go sometimes before the storm." It's really not a good idea for thousands of people to let their pets loose before every major storm that hits. Can you imagine how terrifying that would be for the animals? How many would get into fights with each other or end up eating something they shouldn't and spend the storm with terrible diarrhea and vomiting? How many would get hit by flying debris? How many would be attacked by wild animals after the storm passed? How many would drown anyway because the whole land is flooded for miles? Just because some animals make it through doesn't mean they all can.
Again, I will never understand what goes on in people's heads, when they leave their pets behind. God's blessings and thanks to all the people involved in this...who took time from their lives to save these poor animals.💞🐾🙏😊
if you had children, would you force them to risk their lives too, or risk them losing a parent because you don't want to leave your pets? most people leave their pets in natural disasters because it's the only way to save their families. no one leaves their pets without it breaking their hearts.
some might not have been home when they were told to evacuate, and couldn't get their pets out before the floods reached their neighbourhood. or they were working emergency response and couldn't leave their post.
I also would not be surprised if some of the pet owners died while their pets survived.
@@isthatrubble no its wrong, some people save only themselves and we also discover many animals mistreated and locked in cages in individuals, such as hunting dogs that never go out except for hunting, it is disgusting
同感です🍀@@lutinesugar4872
@@lutinesugar4872 you can't say @isthattrubble is wrong just because there are mean people who mistreat and abandon their pets.
Both situations and motives are plausible and probable and can happen at the same time in an emergency situation like this.
@@lutinesugar4872 what has hunting dogs being abused got to do with pets being left behind in evacuations?
Awww god bless the pig owners heart and the rescue team!! So sweet 💕💕💕
Bless people who rescue animals.
Thank you to all the animal rescue groups. I hope Detroit is back on its feet again. Love to you all.
If one good thing came out of Hurricane Katrina, it's the Pet Evacuation and Transportation Standards act. State and local shelters must make plans to accommodate pets.
Their lives are precious and very much worth saving ❤❤
I can't even imagine losing my pet like that. Many blessings will come to these angels. 💚💙💜♥
Not judging people who felt they had no choice but to leave them but I’ll be damned if I leave my animals. Those are my damn children. I’ll die with em before ever leaving them
Good on you for not judging the victims of Katrina, seriously, no sarcasm. I agree tho, unless government officials were literally telling me I had to if I wanted to be rescued, I’m not leaving them either.
@@WTFiamabanana even than im staying with my pets idgaf if i die
Yeah, it's sad. Parents especially are stuck between getting their human kids to safety over their animal kids. It's a horrible decision and I wouldn't judge anyone's choices either way.
A lot of people died, because they wouldn't leave pets.
@@melissagerber7231 you’re exactly right. There are so many people that would rather die than leave their beloved animals. I would before I would leave my fur baby. There was an article about how most of the people in Katrina that stayed said that they had stayed because they couldn’t bring their animals with them. How sad.
Thank God for these people they are angels all of them thank you for rescuing these poor animals God bless you all
BLESS them Lord...
I breaks my heart that humans leave these poor FAMILY pets behind. To top it all off, they lock them in cages, and places that could get flooded or demolished and kill the animals. God bless these people who go in to rescue them after the storm!
God bless these animals and these people who rescued these animals
Great video, glad they got the beautiful iguana too! Hope this happens in Florida with hurricane Ian going on!
Thank you🥰
Rudyard dad is beautiful loving human 😊
Always rescue the animals they are a blessing
0:36 The doggy trotting in the water! ❤️ I hope it got reunited with its family.
This is what I want to do so bad. If I ever get the opportunity to rescue animals I will
Godbless😊💚💚💚
Imagine the sound these beautiful animals make and cry at the slaughter house. Pigs are very sensitive and intelligent being. #vegan #endanimalcruelty
Yess, I'm not vegan but I'm slowly turning into a vegetarian. The only animal meat I still eat is chicken, this year I'm changing my recipes at home so I can take meat completely out of my diet. We humans should be able to survive with a vegan diet. We do not need to eat animal products at all.
Wow amazing Vidio ✋i like this Vidio ✋ thank for sharing 👍 greeting from Indonesian traditional gold sheeker 🇺🇸🇲🇨🐱🐾✋👍👍
Poor Rudy....so scared....
❤❤❤
Beyond my comprehension how anyone can leave animals.
Sure sometimes it's difficult..lve been in 6floods.
2cyclones..and a terrifying bushfire..my animals are my first priority.
Can never replace them..houses can be replaced.but my beautiful dogs.never..
yay humans!!
Good work...❤❤❤
Thank so much to all the rescuers but I am sorry because some animals should not be in dwellings such as iguanas or ferrets. You have understood that it is the police or firefighters themselves who ask the owners of animals to leave the animals behind because they only come to save humans. Fortunately (and I would be one of those), some animal owners want to save themselves but also their animals, like this owner with his pig, sorry his "little girl". Angels exist!
How could they leave them behind 😡💔
Does he get the pig back?
rooty do not wanna go 😂
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'd love to see an update on Rooty and the owner.
🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Summer was Coming to an End when Class was Back in Session 2005-2006.
Love to see people caring so much for animals❤🐶🐱🐭🪰🕸️🐄🦒🐓
👍👍👍🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Interesting. People left homes leaving their pets? Family members pets? Seriosly?
A lot of owners drowned and were carried miles from their home :( animals were the only survivors
Yeah the owners probably died
Yes people leave them and also leave them tied up or locked behind gates to where the poor animals don't even have a fighting chance. Shitty shitty people
@@beagie666 so not true. Over 10,000 animals died in Hurricane Katrina.
Many of those people had children. What do you expect them to do, either force their children to stay and drown with the dog or hand their kids over to complete strangers while making them orphans? Sometimes there aren't any good choices and you have to choose the least bad one.
the pigs owner was the only decent human there while others just left them to die
When people were being rescued they would tell the people you can’t bring pets.
Bacon
President Barack Obama. It took days for people who wanted to help with their boats, air -boats. People lot of extra paperwork and 3 letter agency Fema
Wanna take people's Gun's away. We don't hear Too Much about Fema anymore.
Umm bush was president not Obama
After Katrine law was past to take animals with you and hotels must accept them..
Oh yeah and the rescuers have to take the pets too
Ive lived in Florida my whole life. Tons of people here adopted those animals after the storm
