It really amazes me when people hate characters when it's not them! It's only written by writers for them. Emmy is such an amazing convincing actress I can see how people might hate Emmy or Fiona but that's actually how good Emmy is.

Lip was always hard on her, forgetting she's also a victim of their parents and that her taking care of everyone isn't really a must but a choice she had to take under the circumstances. For God sakes she put the kids first in every decision she ever took.

This is the best character study for Fiona I've seen. So raw, so aching, so heartful. I always feel relief at her setting herself free at the end no matter how many times I watch it.
Lip does appreciate Fiona. But his parents addiction Ann's abandonment hurt him so much it causes him to shut down. So when Fiona acts up, he completely shuts down and puts a wall up so as not to get hurt any further. I think he loves her but just can't take it anymore. Women deal with emotional pain better than men.
Fiona never screwed up at the beginning and was the safe and secure person filling in for the absent mother so no one expected it from her when she spiralled out of control and the viewers started turning on her when she fell down that rabbit hole .... but all the other characters like Carl , frank , lip no one hated them when they were fucked up just simply because it was expected and normal.
I am so proud of Fiona, she is one tough badass. Even when she was pushed down she managed to barely pull herself back together and continue to take care of her siblings. I can't imagine the heartache, stress, and depression she must've gone through. I think that Carl was the only one who truly appreciated her hard work.
She is my favorite Gallagher. She did so good by raising them and now they think that she only exist for them. When thats not the case at all. DAMN all my feels right now! This is TOO GOOD, I'm just here with my jaw on the floor wondering HOW anyone is such a talented vidder and feeling very jealous of your skill. I've always felt so much for Fiona's arc and related to parts of her character a lot and wanted so much for her and you just captured the most intense parts ALL so well with such epic parallels and use of voice-overs and everything. It's SO beautifully done and so heart-wrenching. Amazing job.

some people do not hold enough pity for Fiona, or don’t respect her enough as a character to give her that, which is confusing because every character is somewhat complex and deserves many ways to see them in order to understand them

Honestly this show took such a turn and I hate the way it’s become. It’s ruined characters like Ian, lip, fiona, ESPECIALLY Debbie. They started turning Fiona into the bad guy when she deserved so much better than that. She was there for everyone and everyone turned on her so easily.

fiona had the saddest story and i wish they gave her the happy ending she deserved, she worked so hard her whole life to support and raise those kids and went down such a sad path
