    Super nice pipe loads. I’ve got 4 gondolas to fill up with pipe! Looks great.

    Since that's a simple Athearn car, I would disassemble the underframe and couplers from the carbody for more effective paint coverage.
    Micromark makes a cool little tool for painting wheel faces. Best to disassemble trucks while painting as well.
    ChartPak strapping tape used does NOT age well. The adhesive deteriorates over time. Use something else or glue the ends together at least.

    for my pipe loads I use those red coffee stirrers that I get from Circle K. I paint them gray and they look like pipes.

    Why not just use a drinking straw as it's the right inside diameter? Cheers from eastern TN

      It’s aluminum pipe. I haven’t weighed it. But it’s not a lot.

  • @whiteknightcat

    Scraping the interior of the pipes is not making the diameter smaller. It's increasing the inside diameter by making the wall thickness thinner. Too bad there wasn't a drill bit that could have done the same thing.

    • @Chinquapinmayor
      @Chinquapinmayor  Год назад +1

      Yea if you listened when I corrected myself. It “thinned it down to make it more scale”. And after building the first few pieces I tried the drill bit in 1/64 increments it was just easier to use an exacto blade.
